I was able to buy this under $20 and the installation and diagrams on the switch or very easy to follow. It did take a little bit for it to link my Best Buy account to the Smart Switch app but after getting past that it works great

Glorified remote control switch with timer

Set up was not difficult as other reviews suggest. Once wired it took 5 minutes to connect to wifi and google home. My issue is that you can't connect it to IFTTT for automation and it can only be controlled by it's own app so I can't keep it in a group or add it to a hub application with other devices. I can voice control it with google, that's about it. So when it comes down to use it's a glorified remote control switch with a timer that operates independently from all other smart devices...a lone wolf. I guess it's worth the price but there are similar wifi switches on amazon that can connect to ifttt for about the same price.

This is a great little product. A little more advanced than just screwing in a smart LED bulb (some electrical experience required). Works great with the apps and Google Home functionality. A big cost savings over a room full of Smart LEDs

The product itself works fine. Is a little finicky to set up the first time and the app is pretty bad. The redeeming quality is the apple Home compatibility. If you have an Apple TV, 4th gen, you can do all your automation through that.

Although it comes with it's own single faceplate, it works with Decora face plates just fine. Took only a few minutes to install once the safe wiring condition was confirmed. Would buy again at this price for sure

This works with your Wi-Fi and a Google Home app and/or Google Home device. I use it to control the lights in the living room with my Google Home device. All I have to do is say Hey Google, turn on the living room lights, and it is done. I don't even have to get up. I don't even have to be in the room, or at home. With the app installed on my phone, I can control this from anywhere. In addition, the app allows me to program a schedule to automate the on-off times. Also, with the app, I can see if the lamp is currently on or off and I can add other switches at any time. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this Light Switch. It was easy to install. The directions were very clear. Set up was easy. The app is useful. I only wish it could dim the lights. But it's still a good price without it.

Easy to install. Connected with ease but had too much singing into best buy's app, but simple for the most part. Good starter switch if you're looking to make your place connected with Google.

Worked great, bought 2 and the bothe work great, make sure you have a neutral in the box and plenty of room as they are big but that is not unique to this brand of switch as I have others

Installing this switch was not hard at all. The difficult part of setting up was using the insignia app. No matter how many times I tried, I could never get it to sync up with these switches. I tried for days on end before giving up and getting a new set of switches elsewhere. Avoid this product at all costs! Buy tp-link switches if you need something more affordable that works. Best buy does sell those as well.

Low cost, works well when set up correctly

This is the lowest-cost smart switch that I could find that does not require a particular hub or system. As is typical for this type of device, it is much wider and deeper than a regular switch or receptacle. It might be a tight fit for the switch and wire connections in a single-gang box, particularly if the box is not deep. If programming the switch to use as a timer, be sure to set your time zone in the ap. This setting is not obvious, and it may not be set to your time zone. It does not set itself to the hour or time zone from the phone running the ap. Once the time zone was set properly, it has worked well.

Install was a breeze. Though I am an electrical engineer. I’m am wondering why they didn’t sell a 3 way switch option (two wall switches) works great with HomeKit.

This is a great way converting your home into a smart home. I have been slowly exchanging my regular switches for switches with some auto features, but this is my first WiFi enabled switch and I love it. It can work as a stand alone unit, you can program different schedules, or simply control it remotely from your phone app. It is so simple to install, it is a direct replacement of your standard switches. Easy pair up to WiFi. This is what I’ll have at home going forward.

    Just Like Insignia's Smart Plugs

Insignia's Smart In-Wall Switch works just like their Smart Plugs, so if you have their Smart Plugs, use that as a reference. This does all the same programming and is a switch that replaces your current switches and reset back to center when pressed so that power is always supplied. One thing to note is to MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A NEUTRAL before buying for a specific switch replacement in your home. Lutron makes a neutral-less switch option if you need it. This switch would get a 5 star rating if they could get around the neutral requirement. Older homes usually don't have neutral wires for lights.
