I know it's only been about a month, but I love this thing! (I call her Rosie--like the Jetson's robot, so I tend to refer to it as "her".) I commute an hour each way to work and then work 10 hour days. The last thing I want to do is come home and vacuum everyday, but with dogs, cats, and messy old men in my house all day, it has to be done. Everyday, I make sure all of the shoes and stuff are out of the way, turn her on, and let her go to work while I start dinner. I've seen other reviews that have complained about the noise, but I have a dishwasher that is noisier. If she is in the back rooms cleaning, I'll let her work through dinner. If she comes out to the dining area at that time, I will just shut her down while we eat and start her back up after we finish. She cleans under the beds and behind the furniture (as long as there is access to the area. I have an upright that I usually run once a week and only do the living room and bedrooms. It generally picks up roughly the same amount Rosie does in a day, perhaps just a bit more (but then every day she runs down her battery so she may not always be done when she stops). Some days I have to empty her half way through (that's how much dog fur there is around here). I got her just before we moved into a new place with all new carpet so this has been my way of trying to maintain the new carpets. So far, it's brilliant! This is my new best friend! I would say the bin could be a little bigger, but really I wouldn't want to see the Roomba be any bigger to accommodate a larger bin; at the current size, it fits under my coffee and end tables that have a shelf on the bottom. I will empty the bin without complaint as long as she can clean dust bunnies from under the furniture!

Was skeptical about how much dirt the little robot could pickup, but was pleasantly surprised. I have hardwood floors, carpet and tile. The roomba was able to suck up alot of dirt regardless of the floor type. The only caveat is that you really need to make sure that you clear the floor of any wires that the robot mat suck up and get tangled in. Also they should include more than one virtual barrier.

We use the Roomba for hardwood floors. It picks up more than expected. Gets stuck often between our anti fatigue mat and the cabinet toe kick but not a big deal. Could use another virtual wall (it comes with one). My buddy gave me the old scheduler virtual walls from his 5 year old roomba which do work with this model.

My Roomba 650 is a wonder. It sweeps and vacuums both hard floors and carpets and returns to its charging base when it's battery is low. I hardly ever have to vacuum or Swiffer anymore. It seldom gets stuck and manages to efficiently navigate all around my living room furniture and kitchen. I've set it run a couple times a week and that's all it takes to keep my place looking good. If it has a negative it would be that it is a bit noisy so I don't like to run it at night.

i love my roomba! we set it up while we r all in our rooms so there will be nobody in way. we wake up in the morning with clean floors! it helps a lot esp with 2 little kids. its such a nice little helper.

This is the second Roomba I've owned. Getting it set up is very easy, and it runs fairly well. I do with they would have made it quieter (it has the same loud motor as the original model). It takes some time for the Roomba to learn the room, but after that it works much more efficiently. Overall, a solid purchase to be made if you have some spare cash, and don't really like sweeping the floor.

this vacuum is the best. just push the button and your floors are cleaned. You can even set it to clean automatically,...just don't forget to empty it everyday. Had no problem jumping over transition pieces in the flooring. Also make sure to pick up big items off the floor. My daughter's sock got stuck in one of the wheels. But if something like that happens to you, it does beep and let you know that there is a problem. Easy to empty and clean the brush, thanks to the little cleaner tool that is included. I highly recommend this. We have two dogs and three girls in the house, so there is a lot of hair drifting around the tile floors like tumbleweeds. Do yourself a favor and buy this!

Should of bought one years ago. Floors are clean when we get home from work. No problems what so ever. We have a boxer that stays inside but now you wouldn't even know it.

Okay so I bought this vacuum earlier today and usually I'd wait at least a week before reviewing; however, this Roomba has exceeded our expectations. I charged it for about an hour and it has cleaned our living room, kitchen, sun room, master bedroom, and my daughter's room. I have a dog that sheds constantly and this has managed to pick up 98% of the hair left behind. My wife is more excited than I am because she usually has to vacuum everyday to keep the pet hair away. I recommend this Roomba to anyone with pets and children. Best purchase all year.

After using my upright vacuum on my living room I sent in the I robot Ann it filled the dust bin with sand and dust and hair. Amazed how clean it looked after it was done.

I did not know I needed this until I was given one. This is amazing! Cleans better than I do, goes under the furniture and finds it's way out again, quietly, and does not bother the animals. Very reliable.

With 4 kids and a yellow lab it has been a lifesaver!

This is my third Roomba since they have been in existence. These vacuums are great for maintenance, but are not good for corners or heavy traffic. These machines are hardworking and I use it 4 times per week. I truly feel these vacuums earn every dollar you spend on them. Just program it and let it do all the work for you!

This is the greatest thing ever! I figured it would be a novelty but it works really well and we are continually amazed by how much dirt it picks up. What could be better than someone or something vacuuming while you are sitting and lounging around???

One of our best aquisitions lately. It helps a lot to keep the floor clean. We have 2 kids so the floor is constantly in need of vaccumming. It reaches corners very well, goes around furniture and other obstacles. Goes well on rugs and carpet too, though it may drag thin / soft rugs or mats. If there is one thing I would say needs improvement is the noise level. It is not annoyingly loud, but after it docks and turns off, you immediately feel that silence comfort. But I consider this not a significant downside to all the other benefits it brings. You can easily overcome this by releasing it for cleaning when you are out. We are very satisfied.

This machine is very efficient, cleans thoroughly and battery life is long.

This product doesn't take the place of a thorough vacuuming, but it does great keeping dust and dog hair at bay between normal vacuuming times. If you own dogs that shed its awesome.

The Roomba 650 makes life with pets so much easier. Just touch the clean button and let Rommba do the rest. The robot won't replace a upright but will definitely make daily use unnecessary.

Vacuum works great on wood floors. The entire downstairs is wood and we just hit the clean button and it vacuums the entire area in about two hours. Goes over throw rugs and when it's running low it docks itself for charging. Haven't had to carry the upright down stairs once after a month of use.

Works well, the dirt trap is a little small but it does its job and goes back to the dock. I can finally do some work while vacuuming. We have 2 cats and a German sheperad and it picks up their hair well. It works best if you pick stuff up off the floor first but will go around most of it.
