I keep getting error 2. I only had it for 2 months before it kept stopping and having to be cleaned out. I took the whole brush system apart and cleaned, still error 2. I’d return it if I could.

Bad experience worked for first 30 days and now it constantly stops and signals error code, we do everything to correct error nothing. Now it looks like I didn't buy geek squad. Can't wait to go back to best buy, stand in line and hear a clerk tell me that they have bad news!!!

One of the worst robot vaccum. I had Ecovacs before and it ran without any issues for more that 3 years. The one I have now is not even 6 months old and I have so much trouble. The parts broke already and the worst part is you have to keep buying the waste disposal bags. This is just another glorified electronic waste.

This product was defective. It had a defective wheel. It would spin then constantly give an error 7. So you would have to pick it up and put it in a different area. It never docked as it should have. I had to return it. Best Buy was quick in refund my money.

New Robot, New Features, but Same Troubles

I have had the pleasure of owning several robotic vacuums over 3 different brands and all make the same claims: "Stronger Suction...Easier to Operate...Sensors that do this and that..." All of it sounds amazing, but unfortunately for most these are false promises and its nearly easier just grabbing the upright vacuum and doing the chores yourself. Of the numerous robotic vacuums I have owned previous, one was an iRobot brand that I purchased nearly 7 years ago. This vacuum was a welcome member of the house as it was our first. We had relatives that had a Roomba and were amazed by the Jetson's style of technology that could do our chores for us. So after bringing our first robot home, we immediately put it to work. The Ouija style clean pattern was interesting, and slightly annoying as I had no idea how how much longer the robot had to go. But it was still a welcomed addition. Fast forward several generations and enters the the iRobot i3. This Roomba is a VAST improvement over our entrance into the robotic vacuum world. Fist, it has a systematic approach to cleaning, which really sings to my inner OCD. I can see the area that has been cleaned, I can see how the job is progressing, and I have an idea of how much longer the job is going to take. The cleaning power and rollers do a fine job of cleaning and keeping themselves clean, which is awesome. Second, this vacuum has no problem finding its home dock. Previous robots have been a little picky on dock placement and its surroundings. This was a little bit of a pain as areas near outlets seem to be prime real estate. But the new i3 is able to find its home with only approximately 6 inches of room on either side of the dock. Another very welcomed improvement is the self emptying dock. This, in theory, makes this vacuum a set and forget assistant that allows you to forget about vacuuming for quite a while. After several cycles I have not has a single issue with the self emptying bin, which is a relief as I have had numerous errors with other brand vacuums performing this function. My favorite addition to any of the newer robots is the mapping function. I love that the vacuum is able to map the house and I later can chose specific areas to clean. Unfortunately, it appears that this is not available yet with the iRobot app, but says "Coming Soon". This is present in other brands and works well with them, so I am excited to see what iRobot comes up with. Unfortunately, where the robotic vacuums are meant to make life easier, that is where this vacuum struggles. You really need to babysit this vacuum. Over the past week, I have had one successful cleaning in which I didnt have to save the Roomba. Thats once out of approximately 8 cycles. Yes, I know I dont need to vacuum 8 times a week, but I really wanted to get this vacuum to work and I was very optimistic. But this vacuum has got stuck under a couch, fell down the stairs, ran out of battery, and got stuck on a threshold. Smart Navigation? Not yet. And unfortunately, this is a big issue for a vacuum that is meant to be making your life easier. Now the lone successful vacuuming campaign was the last one and maybe the vacuum is continuing to learn, but as of now, I am not impressed with the robotic vacuum brand that is suppose to be at the forefront of automated vacuuming. Despite all the great features that this vacuum has, they are all for not if the robot can not complete the vacuuming on its own. Stay tuned for future updates.

Couldn’t get the Roomba to sync with phone. Roomba was in clear line of sight with wifi system. I could use the machine, but it wouldn’t return home and suck out garbage. Ask Best Buy, they gave me new one. Same issue with new one. Called Roomba 4 days in a row, never got assistance. Had IT neighbor come over, said it wasn’t my wifi network or router.
