    I'm Pretty Happy With It!

Having owned a couple of the 600 series of Roomba in the past, I thought it was pretty awesome to hear about one that empties its own bin! But coming from a rinky dink 600, it does a lot more, actually. First, these guys don't ping pong around randomly. It's very methodical about cleaning your home, keeping cleaning times a lot shorter, and it actually generates a map of it (and in my experiences so far, it does it very well). I use Google Assistant with this thing and can tell it to clean a specific room, and the darn thing does it. That's pretty cool. And with the iRobot app, I can start a cleaning session anywhere I have access to The Internets. But my favorite part about this thing is the automatic dustbin disposal. Look, I'm lazy and I know you are too. That's why we buy Roombas and Roomba-like things to enable our laziness. Cleaning the dustbin sucks, especially when you forget to empty it out after a run or two. I mean, I'll still have to empty out the "big bin" on this new i7+..but probably once a month or so. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it still suffers the same problem that every Roomba encounters: getting stuck somewhere. These things, as pricey as they get, are not perfect. They will get stuck at some point, whether it be under a couch or trapped between the legs of a chair. It happens. But what's neat about this new guy is it will notify you via the iRobot app that it is in trouble and show you on your home map where it is. Once you find out where it gets stuck, you'll have to make "accommodations" to ensure that it won't get stuck there again. It does come with a virtual wall, if you need to get to that point. For reference, my home is all hardwood floor, so I can only speak to that. If you guys have carpet, the dustbin may fill up a lot quicker and also be bit more harsh on the unit itself.

Without fail since it was purchased it "forgets" the map every six weeks. It is a complete inconvenience to continually have to "re-teach" it my floor plan, which takes 2 days. All customer service has been able to do is take up an hour to only reboot the machine, have that fail and then tell me to "re-teach" it the floor plan. If I had it to do again I would not purchase. I do not recommend.

    Better than I thought.

We have used it 4 times for the whole house so far. I must say, I was skeptical at first, but I am impressed. I like to clean my floors using broom, duster, and vacuum to be sure it’s clean. So I didn’t expect it to do a real good job, but I was surprised how well it did. My floor size is about 1700sq ft. It takes two charges for it to complete the clean. About 4 hours total to complete.

Useless (and nonreturnable) after just three weeks

When I ran it for the third time (three weeks after purchase), the Roomba lost one of the brushes and it can't be found anywhere. Ordered a repair kit (for a three-week old roomba) and turns out the kit doesn't include the base hardware for the brush. Can't return it to best buy after two weeks. So now I own a very expensive, useless Roomba.

I returned because this product wasn’t consumer ready especially not for the price. The dock constantly got clogged and wouldn’t empty the bin and the app wouldn’t set up the smart mapping feature without crashing. After calling for help I was told to return it if I had further issues. I went back to my 980 but really sad cuz I loved the idea.

I would not recommend this product. We have run it at least 15-20 times and it has still not mapped our house. Our house is one level 1800 square feet and is 90% flat tile floors. We have it programmed to run m,w,f and we have yet to come home to have it sitting on the docking station. We still have to manually vacuum because it does not ever complete a full cycle. Total waste of money.

Solid performer, but software still glitchy.

Solid performer, but software still glitchy. Bot this particular vac due to mapping and non-random sweeping pattern. However, 6 hour mapping run did not allow tagging rooms, targeted cleaning. It made a totally new map on the first cleaning run. We added room names, paired to Alexa. Still can't target individual rooms. Alexa says it doesn't know how, and the only choice on the iRobot app is for whole house. No complaints with actual cleaning, run time, etc.

I really wanted this to work. I bought the unit in Nov 21, and in just 5 weeks with maybe 5 or 6 runs, it needs parts to be replaced. The tech support says they can send replaced parts - motor and brushes, but then whats the point of buying it at such expense if they can not assure quality. DO NOT BUY

I didn’t get through one bag and it broke. Not a big deal things happen and it did do a good job. However dealing with iRobot is horrible. Weeks later still no replacement. Because of this I would never recommend any of their products.

I’ve had this for less than a month and it stopped working. Says to clean the brushes. I’ve cleaned everything multiple times and still saying to clean brushes. Looked online and they suggest buying new brushes. It’s not even a month old. Extremely disappointed

    Failed Mapping

I had high hopes for this Roomba. It was never able to map more than 1/2 of the room it was working. I tried to “re-teach” it to map and learn the rooms. It kept on failing after about 1-1.5 hours. Eventually it actually started just stopping in the middle of the room and couldn’t make it to the charging/docking station. I returned it for a refund after 2 weeks.

iRobot customer service convinced me not to return my I7 because it wouldn’t empty. They strung me along for two weeks before the said return it where you got it. By then it was too late to return to BB. Now I have a $700 doorstop. BB wouldn’t do anything either because they had “Judy changed” their COVID return policy.

I purchased a roomba i7 plus today. I opened the box to my surprise it looks like if it was refurbished I used to own one in the past so I am very familiar with it. I am returning it immediately tomorrow and order a new one online. I am so disappointed I just paid 855 dollars for an used item.
