I purchased the s9 originally. The perfect edge, carpet boost, and higher suction power were the selling points for me to pay the extra over i7. We were upgrading from a 960 model. My first s9 continued to have communication errors. iRobot promptly sent me a new one. The second robot threw a code for the lid not being shut when it was. Support helped me fix this issue. Second the robot threw multiple codes. It wouldn’t even leave the base. I had purchased a $1000 robot and after 2 of them neither worked at ALL. I returned the replacement and took the first one back to Best Buy. The i7 and i7+ were both $200 off. I exchanged for the i7+ and saved $350. The i7 out preformed the s9 significantly and I enjoy the self empty base much more than I realized I would. The mapping is by FAR superior. The round i7 robot is much more proficient at cleaning around furniture legs. I thing the perfect edge technology is a scam. The round robot cleans right up to the edge with precision. Significantly better than the old 960 that clumsily bounced off the edges. The absolute only thing I think the s9 did better was a little longer runtime, and carpet boost. I don’t think either are a considerable issue. I rarely tell it to clean the whole house so the battery life is sufficient. It’s much more convenient to have it clean a few rooms every now and then. It still out preforms the 960 on carpet.

Slight trouble initially getting it to connect with my wifi. After that it was perfect, this is replacing my shark self empty. Much better pet hair pick up than shark, this is like a lamb as it cleans compared to the shark bull that bashes everything.

This is my honest review from someone who wanted to give it a try after lots of thinking. Finally I made this investment. It works fine when it starts. I bought this a month ago. The time I would spend in cleaning I am spending now to troubleshoot it. Everytine there is something. Battery low, not charging, fix charging , not connecting, fix connection, bag is full although it’s not, fix that, needs cleaning.. I am sick of spending at least one hour every time I want to operate it. I would take my money back if I can .

I love my Roomba. Makes my life more manageable with 8 dogs. I use it daily. It really makes a difference. My floors are so much cleaner. I am hooked on it. I highly recommend!

Worth it at less than $400, would recommend for the lazy, but tech savvy. Easy to maintain, Just dust it off every once and a while. Mapping is fun, it did miss an entire room on the first Mapping run though, so not perfect. Makes you want to pick up the clutter to see it clean, and avoid missing spots while its cleaning, keeping shoes up cause shoelaces and whatnot. Wish there were more mop options though. Only stand alone i see is the m6, maybe make one that really scrubs out old caked on stuff. Otherwise love the robot vacuum!

Had for over 4 years still works great. Vaccums great.

I love the ease, not having to empty but once every 6-8 weeks. Great machine. This is my third machine, I gifted my son my old one.

The iRobot Roomba i7+ (7550) is very easy to set up and use, and it does a wonderful job. I love the convenience of having it do the work for me so I can attend to other things at hand around the house. It's great to how it will return to it's Cleaning Base all by itself to automatically empty itself and recharge. It comes with one Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier that you use to keep it out of areas where you don't want it to go which comes in handy for example like where your pet food bowls are, or you can sit it in a doorway and it will block the Roomba from going in. I highly recommend this product for anyone with a busy life style, or who is just looking for a convenient handy helper around the house!

Fair price & works great on vinyl tile.i liked it so much that i purchased another as a gift for my son.

I have owned many different brands of robotic vacuum cleaners. This by far exceeds my expectations. The mapping and labeling of individual rooms in my house is great because now I can just say Hey Google clean the kitchen or any other room by name vacuum cleaner activates cleans only the designated room and return to the charging dock afterwards. My previous vacuums were very tiresome from having to empty them two or three times a week but not with the Roomba s7 Plus with its Auto emptying. I have two house dogs and it took two full months for the bag to get filled before I had to replace it.

Great vacuuming assistant - 4.5 stars in our opinion. Have had it now 4 months. Background: mostly one level house with laminate and tile floors, couple of throw rugs. Dining room has table with 6 chairs. Kitchen counter has 3 pedestal stools. When we down sized to this house kept minimal furniture. One border Collie. Roughly 2500 sq ft that we want robot to maintain (excludes stairs and room over garage). Here's our experience: to best use the robot, let it map your house. Then divide house into rooms. Rather than let the robot clean the entire house , clean by specific jobs that include 3-4 rooms so the robot can complete it without having to stop and recharge. To get the best clean in the quickest time, move portable items into rooms not on the cleaning job list. For example, we move the six dining room chairs to the sunroom. This cuts the cleaning time by about 1/3 as the robot can vacuum straight lines, rather than try to work its way around multiple chair legs. It also ensures that the robot can get under the table completely. We do a similar thing with the sunroom's high top stools. For the pedestal stools in kitchen, we pull them out so the robot can make a pass without trouble under the counter. The robot will climb the smooth base to clean them. For us with the dog, a bag fills in about a month. The robot can't get onto the fireplace hearth or go over the triple sliding glass door track that leads to the sunroom. Nor will it do behind open doors that are flush to walls. So you still need a broom or handheld wand. Buy on sale!

Fairly easy to set up and map the floor. I was suprided it could climb over some of the wood room flooring dividers.

I have had the i3 Roomb a for a few years and replaced it with this i7 model. I am very pleased with the upgrade.

Love having a Roomba, it makes cleaning so much easier! With the self emptying bin you can't go wrong.
