Think twice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great for 12 months (just past MF warranty), then software problems with base. The base which is supposed to clean out vaccum after use, wont work anymore. Software problem has been made made aware to Roomba. You get someone from India who cant figue it out. After trying customer service three times, i gave up and just empty manually.

Returned it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The robot vacuum is supposed to take some responsibility off your plate, right? I didn’t find this to be the case with the i7. I found myself planning around the long vacuum time, long mapping time, and inability to function well at night. I saved up and was so excited to get the i7 but when I got it in my house and put it to work I was so disappointed. It cleaned but couldn’t do it when I wanted it to which was when we were sleeping or quickly before company. I returned this and got the Deebot T8+ and am so glad I did. My first floor is mainly solid surface and my second floor is carpet. The T8+ does better than the i7 on my solid surface and the same as the i7 on my carpets. Check out the T8+ and the inexpensive oscillating mop upgrade. The i7 looks better on paper but that doesn’t come through in real life. My spreadsheets failed me but both these vacuums spoke for themselves and the T8+ is the one in our home.

Don’t buy Best Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m giving this a one based on how horrible the customer service from Best Buy was. I have yet to use the product because it took over 6 weeks and multiple phone calls to get it.

Leaving dirt on the rug and never returns to base!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not super impressed, we were using a Robot Vacuum that was half the cost that worked better!. We have a few dogs, most of our floor is hardwood floor, we have a rug in our lounge, we schedule it to clean once a day. We have the same issues as someone else mentioned of it dumping dirt on the rug! most of the time it stops in the middle of a room and tells us the bin needs to be emptied, I would expect it to go back to the Dirt Disposal unit but only goes back 1 in every 10 times. The unit seems to rattle (high pitch rattle), it is such a shame as I was expecting better things from a unit that was over twice the value of our other one, we love the Robotic Mop :)

Not a very good vacuum…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Constant issues with it either not emptying itself, spinning brush not working, and plowing through things like a bull. Don’t buy from Best Buy- return policy isn’t very good. Buy from Roomba so you can return it within 60 days.

Sucks at Sucking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a Neato but upgraded and bought a Roomba i7. I ran the i7 one time and returned it the next day. There was hardly any suction and it seemed to only collect surface debris and nothing embedded in the carpet. Bought the D7 neato set it up and ran it. Keep in mind it wasn’t even 24 hours since the roomba ran the whole house. The Neato’s bin was completely FULL of dust and debris you would expect a vacuum of this caliber to pick up. Once again Neato did not disappoint. I think Roomba has good reviews only because of their name and no one is the wiser because it’s the only robot vac they have ever had. Don’t buy Roomba, or any other, go with the Neato.

Great manual performance, but app doesn't work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We received this product when it was first released a couple weeks ago. It does a fine job of vacuuming in the manual mode, but the features that are advertised as being available via the app do not work. It will not schedule, learn, show history, or allow for a particular room to be chosen for vacuuming. The WiFi/internet connection is unreliable (it is in an area of our house with very strong signals). At this time, its functionality is that of a much less expensive model. Roomba claims they are working on a solution that will be available mid 10/2018. That will be beyond Best Buy return date policy. This product should not have been released with these bugs.

Great if you don't mind the lack of suction
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No way. Not for $1000. I was excited to get this vacuum running. I've got a German Shepherd that loves to play outside and thought to myself this product (or the idea of it) couldn't be better! One problem though... It sucks! And not in a good way! The 980 does a GREAT job with suction picking up nearly everything in it's path, but this thing struggles severely with it's suction. It is NOT AS POWERFUL AS THE 980 OR 985. This renders it nearly useless for me unfortunately. It's not even worth using it as a preliminary vacuum prior to running the 980 I have.

Wanted to like it, but very disappointed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I like the vacuum, but some key aspects are not working. The automatic dirt disposal no longer works so I have to empty the vacuum after every run, which defeats the purpose. I have attempted to resolve the issue with online directions and am able to get the empty dustbin to appear in the app after extensive cleaning of the vacuum, but as soon as I run it again it will not auto empty. Called tech support and the tech was polite, but did not really know the troubleshooting steps and kept putting me on hold.

CURRENTLY AUTOMATION IS BORKEN NO ETA ON FIX
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This worked extremely well until October. In October they pushed an app update that broke all automation in the app. Scheduled cleanings now just give "smart map error" and don't run. I have been in touch with support since then multiple times. In mid-November, they claimed to have fixed it with an app update. It worked for 1 day, and then broke again. I was told to wait for another update. Another update came at the end of November - still broken. I called yesterday again, and was walked through a multiple reset process to "fix" the issue. I was told if it didn't work, they would replace the unit. This morning, the same error again. I called and refused to honor the replacement offer, instead saying once again to wait for an app update with no ETA. So for 3 months now I have a $700 "smart" bot with broken "smart" functions caused by their software update, and no ETA on when it will ever work again. TLDR - All automation functions broken by a software update since October with no ETA on a fix. DO NOT BUY until the bug is fixed.

Failed day 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high hopes for this vacuum. It seemed to have all the bells and whistles you could ask for, so I thought it would be worth the expensive price tag. I am a technical person, so this machine should be an easy setup. I brought it home and put it on the charging station. I downloaded the app and connected it. Shortly after I connected it, it disconnected and couldn't find the roomba. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It connected again. By this time, the roomba was near full charge (98%). I pushed the clean button and it had a red ring around it with error 47. I looked up this error "Error 47 means your Roomba is experiencing an internal error. A robot reboot should resolve this issue. Have a look at Rebooting Roomba for detailed instructions. If the error persists, please contact iRobot Customer Care." After doing several reboots, I was not successful at resolving the issue. I was not going to waste anymore time on this. If I'm spending over $1000 on a vacuum, it should be the Bentley of all vacuums. The fact that I could not resolve it quickly tells me that their software has glitches. Plus, I read you had to pick up stuff off the floor like towels and cords because it is not smart enough to go around. It's a complete waste of time if I have to babysit this thing. I was hoping to have it run while I was at work. Needless to say, I returned this product after a few hours and got my money back. Save yourself the hassle and don't buy this product.
