It returns an error on more than 50% of jobs “could not complete,” etc.
It just doesn’t clean well (see photo AFTER it had supposedly cleaned that space “successfully”).
The maps indicate that it has successfully cleaned a certain portion of your home, when truly it did not.
Just a bad product.

Great on hardwood floors, but got stuck on my carpet, every time. Wanted it to work so much as we have a furry pup! But we also have carpets and robot vacuums are just not there yet. It would get through about 2-3 times, then stop.

Like having it sweep everyday however it always leaves clumps of dog fur. Keeps going into keep out zone and getting stuck. Often times will run out of battery and I will have to take it to it's dock. Recently when it gets to it's dock it will fall of the side. If I wasn't home to tend to it then it would never get the sweeping done. Very frustrated with it. The clumps of fur are left after 3-4 times of having it sweep same area.

Although I really wanted it to work out, this little robot did not have what it took to clean up after my dog who sheds. It left a trail of wadded up dog hair in its wake as it traveled around the house. What’s the point of a vacuum that you need to clean up after? Especially when it costs $850? Apparently this is a common issue with the Roomba i7, enough so that this syndrome has a name - Roombarf! We tried cleaning it out, pre-vacuuming, etc, all to no avail. The posted pics are after my son had vacuumed the floor before running the Roomba.
Anyway, I was happy that Best Buy accommodated the return so well.
If you have a Shedding Dog, don’t buy this.

The vacuum is ok. Love the automatic dirt disposal. But a waste if you use the mapping feature. Your better off buying a cheaper model that does the same thing. My wife has been in contact with customer support for over 2 weeks and the issue with the maps and docking issues still hasn't been resolved. Worst model. Just get a basic model Roomba for your needs. Not worth the price for features that are faulty.

Irobot is no longer responding to me and my 2nd defective unit. These “self cleaning” rubber brushes DO NOT WORK ON CARPET. I decided to ignore the countless other reviews and still purchased the i7+ because my 690 has NEVER had an issue since originally purchasing in 2017. Irobot has had me change components, and even replaced the unit, but its apparent that the flaw is in its actual design - DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE CARPET. It doesnt matter how much you run it, it does not improve. Irobot is now waiting for my warranty expire so they are no longer have to support me.

What a waste of money. Programmed to run 4 times a week, gets stuck getting back on it's base at least 2 times a week. (photo attached) I've tried the suggested remedies, still screws up at least 50% of the time. I run it while I'm at work so when I get home it is dead and the entire job did not get run. This was an expensive piece of junk, sorry I bought it!

This thing is amazing. I have a pitbull mix who sheds literally every day, and Pac Man (seemed fitting) gets it all. It only took about 3 runs for him to map out my entire apartment (1BR, 975sqft), and usually about an hour and a half to clean the entire place (including a short recharge time). The cleaning station is LOUD, like a jet engine, but it's only for a few seconds. I recently changed out the bag in the dirt station for the first time about 2 weeks ago, and I bought him in January, if that's any indication of how long they can last before you have to change it out. I have google home smart features, and adding him was a breeze. I just say "hey google, tell Pac Man to clean the house", or "clean the house" and boom, I just let him do his thing! I have hardwood and carpet, as well as deep bathroom mats, and he handles it all effortlessly. From what I understand, the camera is aimed at the ceiling, and that's how they map out your house; so when they're learning your house, be sure to make sure it's well lit, but they also want you to run them in different lighting conditions, and if it's done right, they never get lost. Mine has yet to get lost so that's a relief. My only complaint is that they lowered it by $200 just a month or too later lol.

First use was normal. But since that it’s stops about every second swipe of my brand new carpet. I have to turn it over and clean debri cleaning or free the brushes. Does not pick up much of anything. I just had back surgery and got this so I would not have to bend over or strain my back. I just had to buy a regular vacuum. Don’t buy this.

Effortless Cleaning with the Roomba i7+ (7550) -

After several weeks of using the Roomba i7+ (7550) Wi-Fi Connected Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum in Charcoal, I am genuinely impressed by its performance and convenience. This little device has revolutionized the way I approach household cleaning.
First and foremost, the self-emptying feature of the Roomba i7+ is a game-changer. The vacuum automatically docks and empties its bin into the Clean Base, which is a huge time-saver and adds an element of 'set and forget' to the vacuuming process. This feature alone makes the i7+ stand out from other robot vacuums I've used.
The suction power and cleaning efficiency are top-notch. It picks up an impressive amount of dirt, dust, and pet hair, leaving my floors spotless. The multi-surface brushes adapt seamlessly to different floor types, from hardwood to carpets, without any manual intervention.
Wi-Fi connectivity and integration with home assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant add to the convenience. I can start, stop, or schedule cleaning sessions with voice commands or through the app, which is user-friendly and intuitive. The ability to map and save multiple floor plans is particularly useful for multi-level homes.
Another feature that I appreciate is the i7+'s navigation system. It moves around the house intelligently, avoiding obstacles and efficiently covering the floor area. The 'Keep Out Zones' feature is helpful in preventing the vacuum from going into areas where it's not needed.
The design is sleek and the charcoal color looks great. It's compact enough to fit under most furniture, ensuring a thorough clean.
On the downside, the initial setup and mapping can take some time, and the Roomba may require a few runs to efficiently navigate your space. Additionally, the Clean Base, where the dirt is deposited, needs to be emptied occasionally, but this is still far less frequent than emptying the vacuum after every run.
In conclusion, the Roomba i7+ (7550) is a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to reduce the time and effort spent on vacuuming. Its self-emptying feature, powerful cleaning performance, and intelligent navigation make it one of the best robot vacuums on the market. While it comes with a higher price tag, the convenience and time saved make it a valuable addition to any modern home.

Handles 5 pets, 2 kids, and a multi-story house

The i7+ works surprisingly well for us. We have 2 kids, 3 cats, and two dogs, so lots of fur, dust, food, and other debris on our hardwood floors. I knew I needed the self-emptying feature due to how quickly the tiny onboard dirt compartment would fill, and I was right - it takes 3 to 4 empty cycles to finish one floor of the house.
It does a great job with the hair and dirt, rarely gets trapped anywhere, and handles chair legs and random piles of clutter with aplomb.
The i7+ also handles our two story house with a step-down family room very well. It's able to auto-map all three spaces, keep them separate, and lets me vacuum them as needed. I just unplug it, move the whole unit upstairs or to the family room, and tell it (via Alexa) to "vacuum Upstairs" or "Vacuum the family room" and it just does its thing. I was originally concerned it wouldn't handle multiple zones like that, but it does it perfectly.
A couple of cautions, or things to be aware of:
1. It's a little loud on hardwood. It can definitely be disruptive to run when people are on Zoom (class or work), or even trying to watch TV. The vision of letting it silently vacuum while you do other things doesn't really work when you have hard floors (it's much quieter on carpet though). Consequently, I manually run it when the family won't be disturbed rather than have it follow a schedule. That said, the phone app makes it easy to tell Roomba to clean a specific room when it's a good time.
2. It does sometimes run out of battery before it makes it back to the dock. It's easy enough to carry back to its home base, but a little annoying to see that a 90 minute vacuum job didn't complete.
3. Clutter is not Roomba's friend. I've had to extricate feathered cat toys, shoelaces, loose phone charging cords, papers, and other pieces of life's flotsam and jetsam from its cleaning rollers. This is no different than any vacuum, but something to be aware of. Fortunately, the design makes this super simple, with one button removal and the two rollers being both color coded and with different shapes on the end to be sure you don't put them in the wrong spot.
Overall we're very happy with the Roomba. The phone app, Alexa integration, multi-room mapping, and auto docking and cleaning made the upgrade to the i7+ worth it for us.

I absolutely love this vacuum! It has mapped my entire house (2100 sq. ft) and is pretty darn accurate. The self emptying feature is the absolute best. It easily adjusts levels from carpeting and hardwood flooring. It recharges itself and gets right back to work. I have the most shesding cat and dog in the world. Zoomba handles their fur like a champ. If you are still trying to decide whether to splurge for one, don’t hesitate. This is a no brainer.

This is my third Roomba and by far the best one yet. I love the self emptying feature and how it maps your home and lets you label the different rooms. It allows you to specify what room you want it to clean or you can let it clean the entire house. Doesn't get stuck and is quite compared to older models.

This is my third roomba since 2019. It works. It vacuums. The consumables are reasonable and I DON'T need a subscription for it.
It is louder than the S9's it is replacing and I have no idea of its longevity, hence the 4 star review. Does a good job on pet hair though.(3 dogs, 5 cats for reference)

Robot Vacuum - Best Purchase Ever

I’ve been using this product for about 2+ years now and I must say that I made a great decision. Excellent performance cleaning up rooms, designing rooms in the app and scheduling vacuum on daily basis. I just changed my filter and cleaning bag - means it is cost effective and very less maintenance ( gotta cleanup some dust from time to time)
