Can't tell if it's the dongle causing problems, or my monitor, or my laptop. Either way, response rate with the monitor is awful. Constantly have to disconnect, reconnect.

The JCD383 is an easy way to add ports to a laptop. This adapter is plug and play, but requires to be plugged into a USB-C port that supports display port alternate mode. Glad to hear that it is working great for your needs and causing zero problems.

Works ... but not exceptional

Didn’t work for me

Posted .The JCA152 is a USB-C to single HDMI adapter, so it can only support one external monitor. This device requires your laptop USB-C port to support USB-C Alt Mode (DisplayPort over USB-C) in order to output video to an HDMI display. If your laptop does not support video output through USB-C, this adapter will not be able to enable HDMI display, your device must support Alt Mode for the HDMI port to function.
Pricey but does the job

Posted .The USB-C to 4K HDMI Adapter should work with most external displays, but if it didn’t work with your portable monitors, there could be a few possible reasons:
Some portable monitors require both power and video through USB-C, but the JCA153G only provides HDMI output.
Your laptop's USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode for the adapter to work.
