But it definitely does not pack a punch. Fought for husband's car ended up using in our home instead because it will not push the weight of the amp

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was my first JBL/ Harmon Kardon product I’ve ever purchased so I can’t really speak on their quality but as far as this JBL GX1200 I was not satisfied. The price was $129.99 at the time (One month ago) I returned it back to the store after the two weeks return policy to allow it to break-in so I didn’t want to get the wrong idea since it was brand new. I still wasn’t satisfied after that. So I picked up a Kicker Comp R. It was a major improvement over the JBL especially from the build quality and sound quality. I understand it was a single 4 ohm coil at 250 watts rms whereas the Kicker Comp R is dual voice coil 4 ohms. My amp pushed 500 watts rms but the JBL subwoofer acted as if it was too much. I would consider the JBL GX1200 comparable to the entry level Kicker Comp 150 watts rms subwoofers. I’d imagine you spend that much for a subwoofer it would be pretty decent but I was wrong. Would not recommend this product

Bought two of them to upgrade from my single 10” or so I thought. It was a bad idea. Needed fling back to my original 10”!

Busted the voice coils on both of them
