This is such a great buy. After some trial and error ( blown fuses) I finally got it installed. I was impressed that it is compatible with my 03 Avalanche. Would definitely recommend.

Took a while figuring out but now that I got it it works great! Especially for the price! Installed in my construction truck.

The factory radio in my 15 year old car started turning off at random times so I decided to replace it. I figured JVC was a good brand. I know better now. The description said this unit has 18 FM “presets” but only 6 are on buttons. To access the other presets, you have to go into the menu to look for things which takes your eyes off the road for a dangerous amount of time. And then the other 12 presets are accessed by turning the dial not by pressing buttons. So basically, you only have 6 real presets which isn’t enough. And those buttons feel very cheap. I wish I could zero stars for Ease of Use. The digital readout isn’t bright enough to be seen clearly on bright days. There’s no excuse for that. The clock can’t even keep accurate time consistently. I get the feeling the JVC engineers that designed this unit never installed it in a car and road tested it before they put it into production. The problems are so obvious once you start using it. But the worst part of this radio is the sound. The sound is so rather dull and the soundstage is totally absent. The sound is so bad I thought at first the speakers were out of phase but they aren’t. The radio offers numerous ways to adjust the sound but no matter how I adjust it, this radio doesn’t sound as good as the old factory radio. Cheap Sparkomatic radios from 40 years ago sounded better than this. I would have been happier if I kept the old radio. I regret buying this radio every time I get in my car.
