Great sound-Convoluted interface
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I suggest buying this in store if you are going to install. Adding a unit to the cart here for free install adds things you don't need and won't let you delete from the cart. Most cars only need a wire harness kit and dash kit. Shame on you Bestbuy for forcing people to buy things they don't need. My 2001 Altima has had blown speakers for years. After renting some rental cars I realized I missed music in the car. Put 4 Kicker speakers in and it worked but sound was mediocre at best. Didn't want to spend a lot of money on an old car (only 76k miles though) so thought I'd change the head out. Wow! what a difference. The sound is great now, though I wish I had a sub. It has fulfilled my main purpose of great sound. As far as the interface goes, It's hard to read in the daytime. The menu system is confusing. While it has a ton of features, it should be a lot easier to get to things. This makes it a bit dangerous in my opinion. What most people want is to be able to get to bass, mid and treble quickly and easily. It's not easy here. Also, each source also has it's own separate EQ. While a lot will see this as a feature, a lot will find that even more than a pain. It needs a dummy down mode haha. Even changing the lights I found difficult, and I'm pretty tech savvy. I don't really want flashy lights, just a system that sounds good and easy to use. If money were no option, I would have probably been happier with the Pioneer or Sony. But at $79 and free install, I won't complain.

Bad customer service and knowledge
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this stereo installed into my car and they said I didn’t need new speakers cause the original ones are good- once I started playing songs I realized the sound is distorted. Such bad advice! I tried to get new speakers and again they messed up and they’re not compatible. This has been a nightmare

Good entry-level deck, with some compromises
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good entry-level deck for anyone with an older vehicle who wants to upgrade to newer technology such as Bluetooth. Sound quality is great and it has all the basic features you need for listening to AM/FM radio, streaming music from your smartphone, and handsfree phone calls. My biggest issue with this deck is that the controls are not intuitive and you have to dive pretty deep into the menu system just to accomplish basic tasks like adjusting the bass, treble, balance, fader, etc. I am very tech-savvy but I wasn't able to figure out how to do any of those things until after I spent several minutes with my nose buried in the instruction manual. If you're accustomed to having individual knobs or buttons that are clearly labeled, this deck deck will be a fairly steep learning curve for you. Be prepared to refer to the instruction manual and spend quite a bit of time parked in the driveway as you adjust all the settings to your liking. My other gripe is that the buttons and the volume knob feel cheap and flimsy, and the shiny plastic surface is a magnet for fingerprints and dust. A matte surface would've been much nicer. Nevertheless, this deck gets the job done and the price is hard to beat, especially with Best Buy's free installation.

Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 17 year old son and I installed in his 2005 Acura MDX and it was easy and it works great and sounds great! Highly recommend. Saved the $70 install fee and had fun doing it together. Only took about an hour and we are not really DIY'ers (thanks YouTube). Lights are really cool!

Great Audio Receiver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For $100 car audio receiver, this JVC is wonderful. It was worth the wait to be installed by Geek squad who did an awesome job. It took less than an hour to install it. Now my 2009 Honda Civic sounds great and a bit 'smart.' Caveat: You have to buy a dash kit and wiring connections; which cost me $55 more. Well worth it. The car looks neat.
