For it not having a CD/DVD player, it was exactly was I was looking for. Nav systems are a thing of the past. Android Auto and Apple Carplay are a better solution for Maps. Stereo has tons of features and system tweaks. Pair it with a vehicle that can utilize iDatalink Maestro RR and retain factory features and display OBD2 information on the display.

Works great. Self install takes a while. Wires are color coded differently than the PAC unit Best Buy sells you to connec to your car. But once figure out, it works well. Sound sis much better than factory radio. Which is saying a lot. I loved my OEM sound 2017 Wrangler Mopar 430 radio. But this is much better. Ignore reviweres above saying otherwise. You have to adjust this to the preset equalizer setting snd crossover that you like. If you take the time to answer the on screen questions about speaker sizes and placements in vehicle you will be rewarded with great sound. I personally like the setting labeled Powerful with the bass extra turned on. Touch is immediate reaction and wireless mirroring and Android Auto never lose connection. Only reason I knocked a star is because is expensive for resistive screen, but if you use the display setting adjustment to tell it what angle you are viewing from, it will self adjust so everything looks good and is clear. Again ignore reviewer above who said can't read. Sounds like he didn't program right angle of his view. Recommend.

the audio system that was installed sounds Great! and the added backup Camera is Awesome! and the installation is Tight! Hidden / Professional ! my only thing is .. and it might be me is ..that this receiver is somewhat difficult for me to use to its fullest potential . i have an older Kenwood Receiver in my other truck that i am more familiar / comfortable with , so perhaps in time ' i will learn and can adjust.

The unit is very good. Sound quality extremely good. Ease of use is a 4/5. CarPlay feature is a must! Great experience with Best Buy install group. They helped with a demo and even followed up after. Only problem so far is that there seems to be a problem with XM Radio when utilizing CarPlay. When you select something on CarPlay from your phone, XM Radio cuts out. You are then required to go back to the menu and “turn on” XM again.

With the chip shortage in dash infotainment systems are really limited. This wasn't my first choice but I am really glad that one sold out while in my basket. This Kenmore brand is really nice. Easy to use, connects to Android Auto like a breeze. My kids like the changing colors on the buttons and dash backgrounds. Installation by Geek Squad was great. Totally recommend.

This stereo receiver is awesome! Its at a perfect price point, its good quality. The hands free microphone that comes with it is awesome, you can be clearly heard by Siri and phone conversations. I mainly got it for the CarPlay but this thing is an all around good buy. Good job Kenwood

It got lost in the mail but i called customer service and they got right on it and sent another one out its supposed to arrive on Monday 2 weeks after i originally ordered it so im a little frustrated but happy too cuz they took care of it. Ill update this review after i get it installed but im sure its gonna be great it has everything i want in a radio reciever.

I originally bought a new Boss radio with Apple play and used it for a couple of months. I was having trouble with my steering wheel controls from the wiring harness. I did some research and learned about the Meastro wiring harness for your factory controls. I then searched radios and found this Kenwood. Looking back even with out the maestro unit I could not believe the sound quality I received out of this radio! This stereo works great and is user friendly as well. The only thing I found that I do not like is if you shut this radio off you even lose the view of the clock. I guess that’s not the end of the world but I was surprised Kenwood done that. I even called Kenwood to ask if I was just over looking it. There is a way you can make everything other than the clock to go away but your radio has to be on. Other than that so far I have been very happy with it!

This is a great product overall, with all of the features and functions you need. You won’t be disappointed in this unit, especially with the middle of the road price point. You can’t beat it. Pros: 7” screen is bright and crisp with vibrant colors. The transitions between screens are great too, and the screen is very responsive for a resistive touch screen. Kudos to Kenwood for offering custom backgrounds as well. The sound and EQ settings are are easy to navigate and adjust, making it pain-free to find your perfect sound settings. Apple Car-Play also works seamlessly. I should also mention that if you have a factory backup cam, it not only works great with this unit but the resolution is excellent. Cons: There aren’t many, and none of them should be deal breakers, just things you should be aware of. When you start your car, Bluetooth takes between 20-30 seconds to connect, which is much longer than the factory radio. Also, when streaming music, there is a delay when trying to skip through tracks (i.e., when you press the button for the next track, sometimes it takes 2-3 seconds to change). Oddly, this doesn’t happen in Car-Play. Lastly, and this is probably the case for most head units, the glare on the screen in the daytime is pretty rough. Additionally, depending mainly on your background choice, the screen can be distractingly bright at nighttime. Overall, those cons are all minor issues and I would definitely recommend this unit. Also, I would highly advise Geek Squad installation if you don’t have experience with car audio installation. My install was clean and flawless, and only took about 1.5 hrs to complete from start to finish. The tech even walked me through the features and helped me set up my Bluetooth and personal settings. A+ to Geek Squad for a job well done.

I'm not the poison to ask about specs. Due to my installation requirements i needed to choose a radio that was compatible with my install. This radio fit my budget and requirements and has absolutely delivered. My car came with the "premium" system from the factory but was always lacking. It also didn't come with all the features that are around now (namely Android Auto/Apple CarPlay). Not only is the sound quality incredibly better, I now how have all the amenities my new vehicles have. I can confirm that Android Auto works wirelessly, though i typically use a wired connection as it charges my phone at the same time. All in all I'd purchase this radio 100 times over. I'm beyond satisfied with everything it does. (Just to take some of the anonymity away I purchsed a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS and used the Maestro RR Interface and iDatalink Cam1 install kit. I did it all myself in my garage in about 2 1/2 hours.)

The technician at BB recommended this model and mentioned that of all the available units, this is the best for the price. Very happy with the head unit... great display, car play is awesome and sounds great granted I switched out my speakers as well. Happy with the purchase and excellent install

I love this radio. Love all the features such as equalizer, bass controls, apple play, and its display. The sound on my vehicle sounds so much better due to this unit. If there was something to improve on would be the touchscreen’s responsiveness. Truly love it.

No optical drive, no problem! No issues with this head unit, very fast and responsive to touch. Switching between, music, phone calls, backup camera, etc very quick! Just wish there was a random/shuffle option for the my large library on the USB drive. Love the wireless Android connection. Google Maps and GPS works flawless. I'm not going to keep the satilite radio, but it's cool. If you plan to use the side view camera's and expect them to auto turning when you turn your directional on (like the backup camera and reverse), it will not work unless your vehicle has that as factory feature. Per Kenwood support. Overall, if you are looking for a new head unit and you do not require a disc player; this is the one! The next model up cost an extra $150 and all you will receive is HD Radio and Wireless Hi-Resolution audio... Not worth it, my opinion. DMX-9707S had Hi-Resolution playback with USB and Wired connection.

The apple car play is flawless. It works well with the back up camera that was also purchased in store. It highly improved the sound quality of the factory speakers. I'll need to purchase a subwoofer soon.

If Kenwood ever looks at these old reviews, I hope they look at this and learn from a real world user. Hardware OK. SOFTWARE INTERFACE SUCKS. I just updated the firmware today - 12-3-2020 following the directions. The update was successful and easy... However the update did not fix any of my issues with the software; The software is cumbersome and non-intuitive. For instance, in order to turn off or mute the AM/FM radio once started you have to starts another radio service such as Spotify. FURTHER MORE THERE IS NO MUTE BUTTON! The “ATT” button is the attenuation button (why they did not make it “ATTN” instead I do not know) only partially drops the volume. The ATT button has no why to set the amount of volume decrease.. Holding it longer or double pressing it does not mute the sound! Go Figure. There is a similar problem exiting the phone mode. Once in phone it is very hard to get back say maps view. If you are in maps view, and you want to turn on the AM radio you have to push 4 or more buttons (both hard buttons and soft buttons). The list goes on. The software requires constant eyes off the road to use! There is NO WAY to CUSTOMIZE THE HOME SCREEN TO SHOW JUST THE APPS or FUNCTIONS YOU WANT. From the Home screen You have to push a app choice screen that lists lots of choices. Then you can pick radio or Spotify or whatever they’ve put on there. You are stuck with all those choices- NONE OF THEM I USE EXCEPT THE RADIO… The Home Screen has space given up to fancy mini frequency meter, a star picture, etc, The home screen offers me many choices and junk artwork—almost none of them are functions or useful info while driving. The only items on the home screen I ever use is the clock and the App Choice soft button. I think you should be able to put several soft buttons of your choice on the home screen! THERE IS NO REAL CUSTOMIZATON ALLOWED. The hardware works but still has issues. The buttons are all the same appearance and feel. There are not tactile indicators of which one is which! Why not some colors and shapes and gaps between the buttons. There is no separation between the buttons. YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD TO BE SURE TO HIT THE CORRECT BUTTON AND NOT TWO AT ONCE. The Android Auto works fairly well! Thanks Google. Even on the wireless /bluetooth connection, songs from Amazon Music play without a hiccup or annoying pauses. I rented two brand new cars recently and they both did NOT play my music successfully from wireless connections with my Samsung Note 8, Neither kept up with the music streaming rate that worked on the older Kenwood! I have not tried Apple’s Car Play. The backup camera functions pretty well. The guide lines work well and are fully adjustable – I had to mount my camera off center on the rear of my Rav4 and the Kenwood handled the off center-ness very well. The sound quality is very good. My stock RAV4 speakers immediately sounded clearer and cleaner. I did not spring for a separate amp and do not need one for the stock speakers.

This is amazing and it brings all my speakers amp and bass underseats together producing amazing sound I’m so happy with the ease of use and flawless apple CarPlay and Bluetooth and installation was very well done .

I decided to sell my newer vehicle and paid cash for an older vehicle with less bells & whistles in order to no longer have a car payment. So glad I did that! To compensate for some of the lost bells & whistles, I upgraded the head unit of my 2011 Nissan Rogue to this Kenwood and I have been quite satisfied. Apple CarPlay is great, especially being able to use Waze on the big screen along with being able to browse through Podcasts or Spotify with ease. My factory backup camera was able to hook up directly to this head unit after buying a special adapter. There is also an adapter to hook up steering wheel controls for my vehicle, but those were not that important to me so I have not done that yet. This unit is miles and away better than the factory unit that I had in my 2016 Subaru WRX. I'm not mad about it! If you can buy this unit on sale for $330 or less, I would say it's a great buy.

Excellent sound and features! Bought this to replace a JVC. Ease of use, sound control and screen are just some of the amazing features on this unit. The only negative is that the buttons are small for my finger. I wish they were spaced apart.
