Installation was simple as they did it at Best Buy. The installer was friendly and showed me the basics of using the product. However, I find the product and its tiny buttons difficult to find going down the road. The clock function disappears when it is playing stations that broadcast data with the tunes being played. Overall operation is difficult at best when driving, necessitating pulling over at times to get what I want to work. The CD interface does not go back to tuner when the CD is ejected requiring 7 pushes of the src button to get there.

Purchased this deck and installed it, everything worked fine until I went to use my iPhone. It doesn't want to pick up where the song left instead just start completely to the beginning of the playlist.

The installation tech was great, the tuner is not holding the station I listen to, I believe the receiver is not working properly,but the cd is great.

When I got the radio first installed by the geek squad it was awesome! But now radio works when it wants too. Luckily I have warranty

No reason to get excited here. It is a CD player and radio. It does what it is supposed to do.

Paid to have the stereo installed and then realized the CD player didn't work on it. Best Buy didn't have anymore in stock so we upgraded.

Only plays music when it feels like it. It turns on and no sound then turn it off then back on and sound plays

This radio would not power on and was very cheap feeling. Feels like the buttons and knob would break easily.

quit working after 3 months...it appears that kenwood doesn't have a online return policy! ;(

I have a 99 Ford Explorer and needed a newer stereo system with bluetooth. Kenwood has been around since the 70's and has a good reputation for car stereos. The installer at Best Buy, did a great job. Had no problems since 6 months ago. When I receive a call with my Phone the stereo will pick up the call and I can answer without any headphone device. Yes, I see the comments about the buttons being to small, well for me its fine, we females have smaller fingers. Overall, great system for the price and brand. Thanks

Wouldn't connect with Bluetooth and if it did it lost connection

I just purchased this unit a few days ago. It is ok for what it is, but would have to say my old radio was better in display quality. Pros: Bluetooth, compatible with iPhone or Android and not just Apple products. I like the functionality, including the buttons, even though they are small. Cons: The display is horrible. Anytime during daylight hours, you cannot not see the display even though I have the colors set to white. As well as the display could have been designed with two rows of text and not just one with a big font. My last radio had two to list the song artist/title and station identification. In addition to my last radio I did not like because I couldn't see the clock as the font was tiny. It is easily visible on the Kenwood, but pointless since you can't see it during the day. The last thing I haven't liked is that I took the time to get the settings the way I wanted them, only to have the unit freeze up. The volume knob only adjusted the volume between 12 - 14. The display didn't scroll, as well as the function menu quit working. I ended up having to reset the unit. Could be a good head unit if they fixed the display problem and don't understand why there is a dimmer function.

Replaced my unit on the flybridge in my boat. Easy to install, sounds great and the bluetooth feature using my Iphone is great. Seamless paring and can play anything that is on my phone including Pandora, streaming You tube, etc. Only issue is the head units illumination. The receiver is mounted above my head. In daylight you can not see it at all. they need to brighten that screen for Marine conditions big time. Other then that buy it.

I read the other reviews and I disagree with the bad ones. I have fairly large hands and the buttons are not too small. The sound quality is great and the color changing display is fantastic. It works very well with blue-tooth and Pandora and the CD/radio were easy to operate. The Geek Squad installation was TOP NOTCH!

I bought this radio in Jan. 2017 and I really like it. The sound is very good for me. It changes colors. I was worried that my homemade CDs made on iTunes would not work on it based on a review I read here that said his or hers did not work, so the product was not good. They worked for me great and I am very happy I bought this item. I bought a Pioneer which gave me two issues, so I decided to price match the item and I saved $20 when the item was not on sale. I am so happy I exchanged the Pioneer and upgraded to this. I checked the Kenwood website and learned that at the time of writing it is a newer model. It seems like the older models are on sale at BB the week I purchased, and the newer ones are not, but if you do some minor research, you can price match and get a great product at a great price. I bought it for Xmas for a family member, but I like it so much, I am considering buying one for myself. The clock is small and it does show the date. It depends what is important to you. I mostly want good sound. Choose carefully who installs it and see if the kit can be price matched too.

It has neat features. It has neat colors. It does most of what I want a stereo to do, with one HUGE exception: it does NOT play mp3/data CDs. The CD player appears to be traditional audio disc only. If it can play MP3 files, it must require some unique format that none of my CDs are formatted in, and which I haven't yet been able to figure out how to create. Buyer beware if you think that this is going to play your discs full of MP3s. Other negatives: the buttons are kind of weird and the unit is very reflecting, eliminating the usefulness of all but the brightest of the neat colors it is capable of displaying.
