Voice coil will burn fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Besides the subwoofed being huge and not fitting in the first box i had for it. There was a burning smell right when i hooked it up but i thought it was new subwoofer glue like some new subwoofers burn when they are new but it didnt go away. Found out it was the voice coil burning at very low RMS. a month later i was tired if it when I finally gave it some real power It blew and smoked the entire enclosure. Not good. Definitely lying about the 250w RMS capability wish i could get my money back but of course the return date passed as soon as i blew it up. Infinity primus is way better and more capable of a subwoofer for the same price.

Faulty Speaker

Hooked it up to my Kenwood KAC-728S amp and the speaker did not work brand new out of the box. Tried it on several other amplifiers and still did not work. Ended up returning the speaker to Best Buy for my money back.

Does not handle 250 watts. Not even close...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Was hoping for good quality as I've always liked Kenwood head units and their other products in the past. Unfortunately these subs were very disappointing. Was only pushing 150-175 watts RMS at these subs in 1.5 cf3 ported enclosures and burnt up the voice coils in a very short time. This was with amp gain turned way down, bass knob turned way down and a decent break in period. A quality subwoofer rated at 250 watts RMS should be able to handle somewhere between 250 and 350 watts RMS easy. Oh well, they are $50 subwoofers so I guess you get what you pay for!
