Received 2 in a package deal and these subs exceeded my expectations. I mostly listen to Rock and Spanish music so I am using a dual sealed enclosure (1.2 cu ft per sub) and bass is tight, clean, low and accurate. They also handle the more loose bass of Rap\Hip Hop very well. I can't wait till they are properly broken in so I can see what they can really do. Pushed by an Audiopipe APDLI 16001D amplifier @ 2 ohms for 1000 watts rms.

Upgraded from Pioneer Champion Series (Premier) 10"s. I bought 1 of these 10" 2 ohm dvc compR's last week. Just the 1 compR, running 400 watts RMS @ 1 ohm, hit almost as hard and loud and low as the 2 Pioneers together did while running @700 watts RMS @ 1 ohm. So I decided to purchase another. I can't wait to install both compR's tomorrow and tune up my amp.

Powerful bass for a 10" Sub

This sub produces really powerful lows for a 10" speaker. I was shocked as to how good they sound and how clear and responsive they are. This is a great Sub at a good price.

    My experience...

I was recommended by the sales associate the Kicker Comp R 43CWR122 for my system setup and it turned out that I couldn't find the right tone. I was constantly adjusting the setting on my eq and amp to get my preferred tone and it wasn't happening. Turns out that the Kicker Comp R 43CWR122 needs a 1.75 CU FT - 2.25 CU FT box as recommended by Kicker. The enclosure was a Metra 12" single ported enclosure TCBXP-112 at 1.3 CU FT roughly. The tone was very muddy and very unsatisfying with the Kicker in this enclosure. I'm not knocking the Kicker as it pounded on my Alpine MRV-M500 and it would really take a beating. It slammed really, it just didn't sound right because of the box. Took the Kicker back and got the Alpine SWS-12D4 and its perfect in this box. NOW, as far as how the Kicker would have sounded in the right box, I don't know really. I would say it would have been great however I was set on keeping my enclosure. The Kicker seams to be of better build quality than my Alpine: Kicker has stitching on cone, paint is perfect, and contact terminals are awesome. My Alpine sub seems to have some sloppy gluing around the cone, the contact terminals are just ok, and paint finish is decent. Im giving this a 2 star only to grab the attention for reviewers to not make the same mistake as I did. Best Buy doesn't sell an enclosure for this subs spec in store unless you get the 2 in 1 presetup deal 43VCWR122 in which looks to be similar dimensions of the Metra box.... So if your going for a single sub setup (not the 43VCWR122) and buying all your equipment at best buy then either buy a box from somewhere else within spec or get the Alpine.

Get a Fosgate. Kicker isn’t worth the money

What a waste of money. This kicker didn’t last a week before it melted down Just spend another hundred bucks and get a Rockford fosgate. It can handle some serious punishment

The sub is not bad. The issue is best buy puts max power ratings as the rms ratings. Long story short, my voice coil got cooked cause I ran it to a amp rated to put out 1200 rms.

So i bought 2 of these because the box said 500 wats rms EACH =1000 wats rms together i hooked them up to my alpine m-1000 amp and not even half way volume the coils burned up. So i got just 1 alpine type s 12 and it sounds way better than the 2 kicker subs I learn my lesson just stick to alpine from now on

I normally have an alpine type s when that blew I decided to buy this kicker and it didnt even last 5 minutes. I have an alpine 500 watt amp and it gave out to much power for this subwoofer.
