    Kicker Hideaway

I bought this not knowing what to expect. I am an old bass head and have always had big subwoofers. I am to the point now where I would rather have the room in my vehicle to go camping or hunting with the family. I just recently upgraded my factory radio and was going for more of a loud concert sound. I put in all Jbl door and tweeters powered by a kicker 4 channel amp and the kicker hideaway. The amp is installed under the drivers seat and the hideaway under the drivers seat. Well let me tell you the speaker does not deliver ground shaking bass but it sounds like a concert in my vehicle. The first time I turned it up my daughter covered her ears and started crying after only 3 seconds, I did not expect to hear the quality and loudness of what was installed. I now have the best sounding all around stero I have ever heard. If you want ground shaking bass this is not for you. If you want a good quality sound that does not take up room and sounds good this is the perfect choice for you. It will barley shake your mirrors but I can hear my stero from about 300ft away.

Amazing if you are limited on space!

I have a 4 door jeep wrangler and did not want to take up a lot of space since I take camping trips. Also I take the top off a lot and wanted something discreet. So I went with this option and I was blown away, it is way better than I expected. I have had full sub set ups before and obviously this can not compete with that, but for sound you get out of this with the small size you can not go wrong. I mounted it under my passenger seat and I is completely hidden. I put it on my factory stereo and works awesome. The only complaint I would have is I tried the dc option for the auto power on and the amp kept cutting off. So I ran the remote wire to power to the cigarette lighter and switched it to 12v option and works perfect now.

    Perfect fit

2 Hideaways installed under driver's and passenger seats of 2017 Jeep Wrangler 4 Dr. Hideaways fit perfect under the seat, mounted with velcro on the specialty trays that were installed prior to installation. Bass compliments JBL speakers which were also replaced and installed by Best Buy. They will be installing an Audiocontrol LC7i and also a 4 channel amp to power the knee and soundbar speakers. The Hideaways deliver a great sound. If you are expecting to be heard from blocks away, like others note, then go with something else. If you enjoy listening to music and enjoy the highs and lows, then you won't be sorry with your decision.

Takes a little bit of DIY skills, but if you're working on car audio it's nothing you don't already know. It is what it's marketed to be and I am more than satisfied with the sound, build quality, and installation instructions. Would recommend!

    Great Sub for small space

I bought this sub to stuff in the center console of my 2006 Jeep Wrangler. Tight fit but a fit nonetheless. The older jeeps had weak stereo systems. As a first step, I replaced all 4 speakers and added an amplifier. An improvement but it was still difficult to hear the stereo at freeway speeds. So I bought this unit from Best Buy and it turns out this was just the ticket. For its size, this sub puts out an incredible amount of bass. Will it beat 2 12's in a bandpass box? No, but it also doesn't take up the entire cargo area of my jeep. Great addition.

Replaced the headunit and speakers in a '94 F150 and wanted a little more low end. The limited area behind the seat doesn't leave a lot of options, so I gave this unit a shot. I made a simple bracket to mount it vertically (bolted to the floor) and it sounds great! The remote control knob is right next to my knee and I can control the output based on the song, my mood, or driving conditions (windows down, passengers, highway noise, etc), Bass will definitely not rattle your head, but its the "right" amount. The kit includes everything, unless you plan to hook up using RCAs, in which case you need to modify the included harness. I added a set of Rockford Fosgate speaker-line to female RCA adapters (RFIF2SW), and needed to make a longer amp turn-on lead to reach the headunit.

Purchased this after reviewing all the available under seat subs. Installed this on a 2015 forester. The setup prior to adding the sub are Polk dxi6501 for the front and dxi651 for the rear. I used an alpine MRV-F300 which was installed under the drivers seat to power the speakers. this setup sounded great but definitely lacks the low end bass. Purchased the sub and installed it under the passenger seat. Since I used the speaker level inputs for my alpine, I just tapped into the wires for the sub. Only thing I had to do to make the sub fit under the seat is to cut the under seat vent with a utility knife. I then adjusted the low pass filter in the sub and high pass filter in the alpine at 80hz. The sound was Awesome!!!. btw, I double taped the gain control under the steering wheel for easy access.

    Great Amp/Sub Speaker

I must say that I am truly impressed with the performance of this sub. For only having 150 watts and an 8" sub woofer it really packs a punch. It was simple to install thanks to the simple to connect wiring harness and hardware included. I was so impressed with the Kicker Hideaway that I replaced all my factory speakers with the Kicker CS Series speakers. My Mini Cooper now sounds Amazing! Well done Kicker for designing such incredible speakers.

I was surprised at how much this little sub helped out my Tundra's low end. I bolted it directly to the floor under my rear seat, so that definitely helps radiate the bass. It hits pretty hard for only 150watts.

Its pretty much what I expected - but it also exceeded my expectations. I cannot expect a portable unit so small to kick out a lot of bass but I was pleasantly surprised! This small unit works as advertised and more! Very pleased with unit although its a little pricey.

So i purchased the Hideaway 8 on friday. Simple install except for the misleading info that you dont have to hook the remote wire up if you wire it threw front speakers. Thats not the case i did what manual said ran all the wires turned it on as i increased the volume the light starts flickering and goes red and shuts off. Checked all connections tried again same result. I then tapped a 12v acc fuse from up front ran wire and connected it to remote wire in the harness and turned it on no issues light stays blue no flickering or shutting off. Sounds great with the 4 kicker ks 6x9 in the doors and 3.5 kicker ks in the dash corners. So i would have give it a 5 but the misleading instructions and extra time trouble shooting sweating in my garage it gets a 3. I installed it in a 2014 Ram 2500 using factory headunit so im guessing it didnt put out enough voltage to run just off wires from speakers. Tap into front speakers for best sound and run remote wire even though its says you dont have to to save you the headache of wondering why it keeps shutting off just my advice

A little back story...I recently bought a jeep, without the Alpine sound system. I was bummed I wasn't able to find the jeep with the sound system. I didn't want to add any big subwoofer box in my jeep to get the amazing bass sound. However, a friend of mine mentioned this compact amp/subwoofer combo that seemed to be my solution. I made the decision to buy it and I can say it was money well spent. Besides this I also upgraded my factory speakers to Kicker as well, which alone sucked. Combined with this sub/amp combo, I couldn't ask for a better setup. 100% satisfied. Easy install too. I consider myself average when it comes to stereo installs/well above-average on car knowledge, so keep that in mind if you plan on doing the work yourself.

i bought this because my truck is short on space, and i needed somthing small but loud. it took me about 2 hours to install because i was expecting it to come more (plug in and play) ready. Instead i had to splice in the fues, and had to add on to some of the wires because they were a little short also the plugs for the back of my stereo i also had to add on. in this case i wish i would have just got a seprate amp and subwoofer, because this combo is not that strong/powerfull, and took just about as much work as having everything seperate.

just had this kicker hideaway installed in my 2010 honda civic coupe. I knew that I didn't want a boxed sub for the trunk, and I don't want to be one of 'those guys' that bump to be obnoxious. I just wanted a full audio experience when listening to music, and I was not disappointed. The installer at Yorba Linda best buy did a great job of installing underneath passenger seat. I don't even have the control knob turned halfway, and the bass is still too much lol. I am not disappointed in any way at all. Would totally recommend this product to anyone, who's main objective is to add smooth, rich bass to their listening experience.

I used to have a Mazda 3, and had a 12" kicker in the trunk. I loved the deep bass it gave me. Then I got a Mini Clubman, and the sub alone literally took up half my cargo space (didn't think that through). I knew about the hideaway, but was worried I wouldn't get the big bass payoff I was looking for from such a small thing. I decided to go for it anyway. I needed the room. I have to say that I'm so glad I did! I'm thinking now that my 12" would have been WAY too much. This is absolutely perfect for my small car. Great sound, and I still have cargo space!

Got this to enhance the bass, not rattle my trunk at stop signs, and that is about what it has provided. I had a nightmare of an installation that took 4 trips to my local Best Buy and damage to my car but a month later, I have forgotten and forgiven. The biggest beef I have is the controller they installed by my right knee to control the bass on the sub must not work, because 1 and 10 on the knob give me the same results. I'm sure the technician forgot to hook it up or something, go figure!
