My fault of not reading the product before I brought it. I had to return the thermometer because I was hoping that it was rechargeable which it wasn't.

I received the Kinsa QuickCare Thermometer for free from the weeSpring Parent Panel in exchange for my honest and unbiased feedback. My daughter caught a virus shortly after I received it, so I got well acquainted with it right away. It appears to read temperatures very accurately, the small size and flexible tip makes it great for taking quick and accurate temperatures of wiggly sickly children, and the app it connects to is easy to navigate and very helpful. The app allows you to make a profile for everyone who uses the thermometer and then uses the information in the profile to provide suggestions for care once a temperature is read. I really like how it asks for other symptoms and then provides suggestions for what to do next and links to resources about the medical issues that may be going on. For example, if the person with the fever also has a sore throat, it might show a link that says, "To learn more about soothing a sore throat, click here," and that's very helpful because, oftentimes, a parent of a sick child is not thinking straight and might need the information but not know where to look. My favorite feature of the app is that it does the thinking for me by telling me how best to proceed and answering my questions before I've even asked them. Her virus lasted seven days and it was a very useful tool to have on my side.

I was excited for this product the first day but that’s as long as it lasted. It drained the battery so I thought maybe I just got one with a bad battery. I replaced it and again it only worked on time before it drained the battery again. I went through 4 new batteries before I decided to just give up.

Battery was drained so fast. Original battery lasted only 2 weeks, then I replaced with new battery which also lasted about 1 week. I could not return it as return period had passed. Would not recommend it.

It works without the app. Just have to keep pressing the button a few times to get it to display to F. or C. without the app then hurry to take the temperature because its time is short limited. It's very fast to get the temperature, almost too fast. I don't know how accurate it is.

Works well on adults, seems to be very quirky when using on children

I do not recommend it. Shows a different temperature result all the time. I bought 2 pieces and try with the old one at the same time, all the results are very different from each other. We use the old thermometer as a result)

This is a awful thermometer. It ONLY works if you put the app on your phone. It will NOT work just as a thermometer. I just wanted to take a temperature and read the number - not be fussing with my phone to get the temperature. I'm not going to put another app on my phone for something I use infrequently. This was a waste of money. I hate this product.

I love using the Kinsa thermometer with the kids and because of its fun app, the kids are much more receptive to using it. I have an older version that does not have a built in temperature display so I always have to use my phone to use the thermometer but the design has come a long way since that one. I love that taking the kids temperature they can pop bubbles which distracts them away from the task at hand. The app is also fantastic for keeping track of historic temperatures and the color coding helps mitigate some of my concerns as a mom. Overall I have been extremely impressed with this thermometer and would recommend it to anyone.

As a mom of three little ones it is so important to have reliable thermometer. The kinsa has been perfect. I programed all our family members names in the app so I can select whose temperature I'm taking. I love how you can also select on the app where you are taking the temperature from (rectal, underarm or oral). The app is super easy to navigate and gives you great recommendations on how to proceed medically. It also tracks the temperature so you can see how the person is doing, if it is rising or not. This is a really great thermometer, accurate and great bonus features with the app.

I Purchased the Kinsa Smart Thermometer when my first son was born. It is small and very convenient to pack for weekend trips etc. It seems to be very accurate and my kids don’t mind using it in part because of the app which keeps them busy while the thermometer is working. It’s convenient to be able to log temperature readings and other symptoms on the app. This was especially useful this winter when my son had a week long episode of fevers and we had to report the symptoms and temperature readings to the doctor. My only complaint is with the changing iPhones, we have to make sure we have the correct adapter to ensure we can actually use the thermometer with our phones. Overall it is very useful, user-friendly, and the app is an added benefit.

We love our Kinsa thermometer! It's so easy to connect it via bluetooth to the phone app and select which of our family members the temperature reading is for. It has seemed very reliable and its small size makes it really portable for our very active lifestyle of traveling. Also really kid-friendly as it gives a fairly fast reading and is unobtrusive. App is really easy to setup and navigate and gives you personalized recommendations based on the thermometer reading. So helpful! Would definitely buy again and would also buy other products from this company.

I have been using this quick care thermometer for about four months and it has been a very easy experience. My daughter is still only seven months so I needed a thermometer that worked as a rectal thermometer and worked quickly. Since all I have to do is open the app and turn on the thermometer before taking her temperature, it has been easy to use the temperature tracking feature of the app. The app also provides basic information on whether the temperature is a fever and any steps they would recommend. Excellent and simple to use product!

I was so thankful to receive the Kinsa smart thermometer as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel especially because 2 of the 3 kids came down with a bug days after I got it. :( As a busy mom of three, I am always looking for tools that can help 1. make things easier and 2. keep track of things (because my brain is on overload.) The Kinsa thermometer does both of those things. Installing the app was a breeze. I love that you can add each family member so I don't have to remember whose temp was what at 2am. It's so easy to set up that my 6 year old changed his profile pic and then added a profile for me. It reads temps super quickly so while the bubble popping game on the app is cute, it's not necessary. It was super easy to switch back and forth between family members on the app and I appreciated the easy to use symptom checklist and advice on when to treat at home vs/ when to call the doc. I'm a lot more comfortable now than I was when I just had one child but it's still nice to have the reassurance that what I'm doing is the recommended course of action. The only issue I had is that my 4 year old isn't quite ready for under the tongue temp taking so I kept getting error messages which is really frustrating when you're dealing with a sick kid in the middle of the night. I ended up taking her underarm temp which was quick and easy but all the notes on the app are based on forehead temp. It is slightly more expensive than other digital thermometers but the app is so helpful that I think it's definitely worth the extra expense. I've tried a lot of thermometers and this is my favorite so far.

To start, I will be the first to admit that I thought it was ridiculous to download an app and then have to hook a thermometer up to your phone in order to take a temperature, but boy was I wrong. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted and needed in a thermometer. The app is so easy to navigate. It’s very streamlined and I love that you can separate each family member to keep track of everyone’s temps/symptoms/meds. The thermometer works very quickly, like way faster than any other thermometer I’ve ever owned. Which is super great when dealing with a sick baby. The quicker the better. I love that the app has a little bubble popping game to distract the kids from getting the temp taken. Besides all of the other great features that is probably my fav one just because it helps the time pass with the littles so they’re not thinking about the thermometer. I haven’t compared temps between 2 thermometer to test for accuracy, but I’d say it seems pretty spot on and consistent. I’ve taken back to back temps just because of high fever and not wanting to believe it’s true and have gotten the same results both times so this to me is an indicator that it is quite accurate. I would also like to add that I’ve bought this thermometer for a couple different family members and friends that were expecting as shower gifts because I love it so much! It is definitely a baby necessity!

Overall, this thermometer was pretty great. It's cute and functional. I think the best part about it is the Kinsa app. It integrates seamlessly with the thermometer. You can take a temperature on someone without opening your phone and the next time you DO open your phone, it alerts you to the temp and lets you sync it to a family member. We tried it with and without the app and it went smoothly. The ability to sync it to a family member is great as well. I can track temps over time for all 3 of my children (and myself!) without even having to think twice about it. The app is also very intuitive and user-friendly - both initial setup and everyday use are simple and well-planned. The thermometer most importantly seems accurate. We checked it against two other probes we have at home and it matched both within 0.3 degrees. It was also consistent - we checked orally and under the arm on two kids every 5 minutes for 20 minutes and got the same reading. The app lets you select if you chose orally, under the arm, or rectally (we did NOT test out the rectal feature as we plan on using it only orally and occasionally under the arm). The test is quick (<45 seconds every time) and the app has little bubbles that show up on the screen for the kids to pop as they wait. This was an especially useful feature for my 18month old. Now to my one complaint - it IS quick read, but man do you have to hold still. While my 18month old getting errors was fairly expected as he wiggles like a ticklish snake, my 6-year-old got an 'error' about it not getting a reading probably 1 in 5. Kids definitely have to hold still, which when they're sick, isn't always an easy feat. The app also provides advice about what to do in the event they DO have a fever. I found the information useful when trying to figure out if I really needed to call our pediatrician. Upon calling the ped after a high temperature, she agreed with the app thus far, increasing my comfort level with the info. I'll definitely continue using this thermometer and a huge thank you is due to the weeSpring Parent Panel for giving me the chance to try it out. I think the app is useful in a time when most apps with devices still seem a little clunky. Kinsa seems to have figured it out, combining technology and comfort in the best ways possible.
