I purchased this refrigerator on April 27, 2023. It was delivered on May 1st. I love the way it looks but it is not something I can recommend. 1) The doors on the first refrigerator could not be aligned using the process described in the owner's manual. Technician had to come out and look at it and ended up replacing. 2) 68 days into owning, I noticed that the ice maker and freezer were not working. Even the refrigerator would only cool to 58º F. I lost all my frozen food (about $400 in today's $). Whirlpool tech came out and said that the compressor was shot. I needed a new compressor, dryer and evaporator. I'm sorry but I am not going to accept a $3,500 refrigerator that can't make it a year before MAJOR components need to be replaced. Whirlpool refused to replace the unit even though their technician told me I would continue to have issues with this unit due to metal shavings likely throughout the cooling system. 3) Best Buy initially did not want to replace the unit but after several conversations with the store management, they decided to replace with a brand new unit. The new unit is cooling as intended but does make a lot of noise. I am very disappointed in this refrigerator. It was the most expensive floor model at Best Buy and looks like it's built like a tank. Unfortunately, IMO it's not worth it's weight in pennies. I do want to recognize Rockwall, Texas Best Buy Management. You took care of my situation and in doing so saved a long standing relationship. I will continue to shop with you and do my part to hold off Amazon from shutting your doors.

We have already had one warranty replacement on our Kitchenaid 5 door refrigerator. Between all of our rentals we have about 20 refrigerators, I prefer Whirlpool products for their overall reliability. I have a saying- Friends don’t let Friends buy Samsung, or Frigidaire… but this Kitchenaid 5 door apparently has some massive design flaws and the service providers while under manufacturer warranty are insanely slow to react. Geek Squad’s teams have been great, though! It’s gorgeous, but I would not recommend. The warranty replacement is a month old and it went from just due to water taking 2.5 minutes to fill a 16oz cup of water. Our last one did the same thing. A part was replaced and then all was good. Our last one started freezing all of our food too… hopefully this one won’t do the same. Equipment breaks. It’s inevitable. The worst part of the experience that damages the Whirlpool brand is the appliance repair companies Whirlpool chooses as repair partners, which in my experience aren’t responsive, are slow to act, and take forever to get parts and install them. Geek squad is extremely fast and responsive, appliance hospital was extremely slow and unresponsive.

Moved to a new home that had kitchen aid appliances, all but the fridge. I am a long standing Frigidaire customer, but wanted appliances to match so we purchased this one at $3500 at Best Buy. Within 6 months I had to have it serviced. Something keeps freezing up under the crisper drawers and causes water to pool in the pan. Then everytime you open the drawer water and ice run out all over my WOOD FLOOR! We have also had the issues with ice and frost build up in the freezer. I have had the factory repair techs out twice now to defrost it and offer no explanation of a permanent fix. I am again needing it serviced for the same issue and its only been 1.5 years since purchase. Best Buy informs me that the first two repairs don't count since it was done by the factory and not them. What a load of Crap. I JUST WANT MY VERY EXPENSIVE FRIDGE TO WORK AS IT SHOULD. Not impressed with this fridge or customer service from Best Buy or Whirlpool.

2years old now and all we’ve had is trouble with this refrigerator, since the beginning. It takes a full day to make ice. It freezes ice cubes in the ice maker part on top left side of refrigerator and leaks water all inside the herb part with the little sliding food and down the left door shelf. It also goes into the left drawer we use for cheese, that swims in melted ice water as well. I can put any items in the herb drawer because it swims in melted ice water. Water drips from ice maker seal into the box of ice cubes and freezes the ice reservoir door shut. They said it’s the seal so they replaced the ice maker door but it starts in the fridge part where the ice cubes are made. Ice builds up in the freezer above the top drawer. Do not buy this. We were so excited and paid over $5k when it first came out, that included install, geek squad 5yr protection $650. Horrible appliance.

Beware, this refrigerator is an expensive piece of junk. Purchased 1-1/2 years ago for new kitchen remodel and started using little over a year ago and already has stopped cooling twice. First tech. replaced control board and damper control. Now less than two months later, stopped cooling again. Geek squad has been great, however, you end up having to wait over a week for a technician to come out, so without a refrigerator twice now for over a weeks. Do not buy this fridge.

Fell in love with this refrigerator in showroom. I bought KitchenAid set which works fine but, I must say the refrigerator is very disappointing. The freezer has been covered in ice and icicles after a few months. The ice maker routinely melting and delivers a nice splash of cold water out of the dispenser instead of ice. Have called and had repair workers come 6 if not more for issues on this unit, and 4 times for the ice maker. There is something seriously wrong with the design of this refrigerator. I hate that because it looks so good and I don't want to buy a non matching unit, but I also want a freezer and ice maker that actually work. Now I just made another appointment for someone to come out next week again. Buyer be beware!

Very dissatisfied with this product from top to bottom. Initially, our main issues were lack of functionality and the poorly designed freezer space and cheap freezer drawers. As soon as the 1 year warranty was up, we started having issues with the ICE Maker producing little to no ice as mentioned in other reviews. Then, we started to have issues with the left pull-out drawer control panel due to the poor design of the water/ice dispenser sitting right above this panel and causing it to fry the panel. We are in the hole so much money for a Kitchen Aid refrigerator that is just 2 years old. Poor Kitchen Aid Customer Service during the multiple calls to the service department. I even asked one of the agents “is this the quality of Product/service Kitchen Aid stands by” and she replied yes. Will never purchase again from Kitchen Aid. Please save your money and buy something that will last. This refrigerator is way too expensive to have the number of flaws that it does!

It’s a beautiful fridge and has lots of space . The freezer are is divided in three sections and make your frozen food to be very organized . I love the drawers , it’s nice for kids snacks. The only major problem indoor is the noise it makes . For me it’s unbearable ! I’ve already returned one , now I’m returning the 2nd fridge in less then a month of purchase . I can’t not stand the humming sound all day long !

Bought 3 years ago along with a Kitchenaid dishwasher (also a mistake). Ice continues to build up in the freezer. Had Kitchenaid Repair out; dude said close the door and charged us $75 for that wisdom. Now we live with this thing that won't close DAILY due to ice build up, meaning we have to take a knife out and DAILY chip out the ice or the freezer door will not close. Will never buy kitchenaid again.

If you buy this unit buy an extended warranty. I have had this unit 3 years nothing but failures. Ice maker quit working. Replaced. Lights on shelves quit working. Replaced. Cooling quit working. Got it fixed. And now the ice maker quit working. Absolute junk. Worst customer service ever. Again buy something other than whirlpool or kitchenaid. Save the headache. They don't stand behind there products.

I recommend not to buy this product. It is expensive and gets rusty quickly, I called warranty department and rust is not covered. Our house is new with no humidity problems. They sale the product as stainless steel. Also, it doesn’t have a tray so every time you serve water it end up getting doors wet.

Hate writing this but time to move on- like baseball 3 strikes your out. Had this fridge delivered 3 times. 2 times (clear damage from the back ) so decline the fridge . Then a perfect one became a nightmare - woke up to water all over the floor and in the fridge . That was one day of having the fridge (leak was coming from inside ) For a fridge that was not cheap this shouldn’t happen . What a mess loss food inside that we just bought and had to do so much laundry due to the towels we used to clean up the mess. We are moving on 3X and we loss faith in the fridge.

We are very disappointed with this product. Ice and water stopping working after a few days, the fridge is 28 degrees and freezing food even though it's set on 38. The rollers are broken so it scratched our floor. Geek squad came out and said it needs to be replaced.

Best Buy Customer service is excellent. Product is crap. Thoroughly disgusted with the poor quality of the “high end” Kitchenaid appliances. Please learn from my expensive mistake. Do NOT trust that kitchaid is the same quality it was nice WAS

All drawers and doors misalign, delivery driver damaged my door and my stove top as well. Really bad experience and this does not feel like a $4000 refrigerator, none of it lines up and it isn’t even level, slopes from back to front, last refrigerator did not to that.

Kitchen Aid freezer door seal issues. Tech support unable to repair. No replacement available due to refrigerator being in the higher price range. Home Depot able to meet our needs. Overall rating is 0

I purchased this refrigerator 7/16/18 when my old fridge died. It was delivered the next week. Approximately 3 weeks later we started noticing issues with water running down the front of the fridge and puddling on the floor. The inside of the fridge around the icemaker was also dripping water down the inside and would alternate freezing up around the gaskets. It quit making ice by the next day. I even went so far as to take everything out of the fridge and freezer and left it sitting open for a whole day so if the ice maker was frozen up it would melt. I turned it back on the next day and it has never made another piece of ice. I called the KitchenAid repair to have them come look at it but then decided I didn't want to start having troubles and service calls on a brand new fridge that was less than a month old. I went on the Best Buy website and started reading the pros and cons of this fridge.....so many complaints about the ice maker going out almost immediately. Thankfully, we are elite plus members and the management at the store in Sherman, TX was nothing but wonderful to work with. My new fridge will be here on Saturday (I checked reviews first this time) and they will pick up this one that will not make ice. I really hate that it happened because I loved the extra drawers for meats, cheeses and produce. Loved the fact that you can put a big pizza in the door of the freezer and that it has plenty of room for frozen foods. I just can't spend $3,000 on a fridge, have an important part of it go out in less than a month, and keep it or exchange for another one just like it.

As much as I love the looks of this unit, I have to give one star because it’s not well made. We started having issues last year and had it repaired this past January. Now, it’s not cooling properly again and the freezer is running like a refrigerator. The repair man is here now and said it’s the whole cooling system and it’s a $1300 repair. We are not going to bother. He said once you open that system up, issues can become more common. Such a beautiful, expensive refrigerator that doesn’t work. What a waste of money. It makes me sad because I really do love how it looks.

I love to cook and this fridge seemed perfect. I loved the idea of being able to access the 2 middle drawers. The whole fridge seemed to be user friendly. That being said the love affair ended after I began to use it. First the freezer started to ice up. After only 3 months of use I had to defrost the freezer in order to have the 2 freezer drawers glide freely. I had to manually bump up the fridge to max ice and max cold to keep my fridge cold and the ice from melting. My husband kept saying the fridge was being stingy with ice. After a while it wasn't a joke and I would have to take the ice compartment out and run warm water to remove the melted/frozen ice so it would work again. I still thought it was a good fridge made in America looked good right, had a 10 year warranty. Than the door sound kept going off and I would have to physically push in the soft glide doors to close the middle 2 and the freezer. So far I have had to defrost my fridge 3 times the last time I had so much ice it took 5 hours. I called for repair. Today I came home and I have ice on the roof of my fridge. I no longer think it is a user friendly fridge but I still think it looks good in my kitchen I just wish it worked.

Dont buy anyrhing Kitchenaid. This refrigerator is overpriced trash. Expect it to fail. They should charge an extra $1000 just so you can get a 3 year warranty cause its gonna fail. Kitchenaid is the rock bottom of appliance makers charging a premium amount. Better idea, take your money, out it in a hole, light it on fire and then cover it.
