    Poor quality APPLIANCE

    I wish I could give this appliance zero stars. I believe we had this fridge installed in July 2019. It started to die mid November 2021. It is now February and it now completely dead. I really enjoy having my ice chest in my bathtub for cold food. Geek Squad has been out here 6 plus times...Hours of my time waiting. Special appliance guys came out and determined it died BUT they are getting parts sent to us. One part is on back order. I want the fridge replaced. So annoyed. Do NOT buy this poor quality fridge.

    Poor quality sealed refrigeration system

    Bought this fridge in 2019, we had issues with it in 2020 and serviced it via warranty. It turned out to be the fridge evaporator being clogged, I guess they didn't manufacture this unit properly. We have issues again some months after the 2020 service, now the freezer evaporator is clogged. It's 2023 now and we have issues with it again, my guess is that it's something with the sealed refrigeration system again because my fridge and freezer is stuck at around 60 deg F now.

    poor quality door seals

    Purchased a slightly different KA French door model (KRFF302EWH) in September 2018. Now, 2 years later, both door seals are cracked and tearing. Warranty only covers electrical and mechanical issues. New door seals cost almost $300 (even more if you buy directly from KA).

    Junk - died after 7 months, $300 + in spoiled food

    Junk - cooling system died in 7 months which is a major repair. Repair tech informed us if repair was not covered under warranty, it would cost less to purchase another fridge. Have had two other unrelated repairs covered under warranty. Lost $300 + in spoiled food and now waiting two weeks for replacement parts without use of the fridge. Fridge is junk and not reliable. We are now concerned we will have future issues, out of warranty, costing us thousands of dollars.

    Kitchenaid is junk

    The doors don't seal, the handles are falling off and they can't be tightened without a service person, $90. I got the extra coverage from the GEEks. They don't cover doors, drawers, handles. The drawers are falling apart. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

In purchasing extended service coverage from a third - party administrator, you are contracting with and delegating authority to that provider to administer service and/or maintenance for your appliance in lieu of the manufacturer.

      Any decisions made by an extended service plan provider, in regard to continued repair of your product versus replacement or reimbursement, or in regard to the service provider used to perform appliance repairs, are at the sole discretion of that service plan administrator. KitchenAid has no jurisdiction over your service plan, or its administrator.
      Your comments have been documented in your customer file and are available for review should you need to contact Whirlpool at a future date. However, in regard to resolving your current appliance concern, we must refer you to your service plan administrator for further assistance.

      The extended service company should be abiding by the terms and conditions of your extended warranty. You will want to review your contact, and discuss your options further with the plan administrator that holds your contract as they will be able to provide you with the best assistance possible.     Kitchenaid 5 drawer refrigerator KRMF706ESS01

    Horrible product. This was our 3rd one. Warranty expired. Lights went out, 5th “select drawer” went out, temps widely out of control after control board replaced 2x. Also the drip pan full of brown smelly disgusting stet that you cannot easily access to clean. We have no clue why kitchenaid has not pulled this fridge after 5 years. Stay away. Kitchenaid fix this !! You are better then this!!

    Buyer beware, Kitchen Aid Refrigerators are junk

    This refrigerator replaced a Kitchen Aid fridge we had for over 12 years. In 12 years its predecessor, a Superba model line, worked perfectly.....never had an issue. On the other hand, this newer Kitchen Aid refrigerator has basically degraded into landfill material in the last 5 years. It leaks, gaskets have fallen apart, drawer controls stopped working.....

    We bought this refrigerator in 2016 and almost to the year we started having problems. First it was a little water and then big puddles and now it's getting out of hand. We called the customer service at Best Buy and they sent someone out. They recommended we thaw out the refrigerator and we did. That did not solve the problem. We told them it was still leaking after we thawed it out. They said the repairman said nothing was wrong with the refrigerator! Yet it keeps leaking big time! My husband has to clean out (more like break) the ice that builds up under the freezer drawer. He has to do this at least twice a month! If he doesn't do it we have tons of water coming out from under the refrigerator. We're going to have the repairman out again and I'm sure he'll say nothing is wrong. Why have a warranty if you're not going to stand by your products (Kitchenaid)! Please don't buy this refrigerator. I don't want anyone else going through this.

    In 2021 I purchased Kitchenaid dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, range and hood vent for new construction. I had Kitchenaid appliances previously and had good service. Within a few months, the lights on my hood vent stopped working. Within 18 months my microwave sent out sparks like the Fourth of July. Of course, warranties have expired. Question is, which appliance goes out next???

    Poor delivery poor quality

    Well I have had this fridge 3 yrs now. After having three units delivered to my home all which were damaged. I kept the one with the least cosmetic damage. Now at the third year the Evap fan is broke and the fridge won’t go below 52 degrees. I am very disappointed in Best Buy’s ability to deliver a undamaged fridge with no compensation offer, and disappointed that after spending 2700, I already am having quality issues with it. Don’t buy from Best Buy and stay away from kitchenaid!

    Ice buildup is definitely a problem

    We have had this model for a little more then five years and have had to service it for ice buildup several times. There is often too much ice to simply unplug it and let it melt on its own. It finally reached a point that the appliance repair people said tgat they could replace the parts that are supposed to regulate humidity and temp to prevent the build up BUT parts are all back ordered with no ETA. So we’re switching to an LG fridge

    For the price I paid not happy with this ! Ice cube problems since day one and freezer problems too electronic motherboard is almodt $ 1000 plus installing iy only 4 years old , they dont make them like years ago the look fancy but to much goes wrong nowadays

    I we could return this we would, what a shame for this type brand and price point to use cheap plastic inside all over freezer drawer fall apart constantly, water will run down into the main cell o left drawer refrigerator will stop working all handles will come loose have to constantly be tightened.     My experience was nearly identical to mdaanderson's below. It's going on 6 months and 8 service calls, with mounting repair bills to fix. Last straw was today when I spoke directly with KitchenAid after trying to work with Home Appliance in Massillon OH to no avail. Inadequate resolution offered up after waiting on phone over 1 hour between 3 depts.

    We have had this refrigerator for 3 years and it's going to cost us 2000.00 to get it fixed. We had 2 different repair companies tell us that the drawers is a flawed design system that causes the entire unit to freeze up. They both also said it might not fix it. Kitchen aid will do nothing for us. Buyer beware!!!!
