Beautiful! Easy to order and pick-up! Another store messed up our order and we frantically needed these appliances for our new home. Best Buy came through!

    Faulty double oven

Steam gets in the panel, then it says key error and just stops working. I had 3 technicians here but there is nothing they can do to fix it. Customer service keeps telling me to cover my food. How am I supposed to cover frozen fries or frozen pizza? It gets all soggy. Last Thanksgiving we had to cover our turkey, the steam got in just 30 min after it was in, so we had steamed turkey instead of baked. Can't even roast vegetables. It still under warranty but KitchenAid won't replace it. They know all the models have this design flaw. I expected more from a company like that. Instead I was treated with dishonesty. All our appliances are Kitchenaid, and our refrigerator also stopped making ice just 3 months after installed. They are just not made to last. I would spend the money on high-end kitchen cabinets that will last for at least 30 years.

    STAY AWAY! DO NOT BUY

We bought this oven a month ago and it does not work. I bought a KitchenAid oven thermometer to calibrate it properly and it will not hold a consistent temperature. Even after pre-heating and allowing it to sit for an hour like others suggested. For example - baking muffins at 400 degrees for 15 minutes: I preheated for an hour to make sure it was set at 400 degrees - I put the batter in the oven and in that 15 minutes it went from 400 - 430 - 400 - 380 - 365. At that point I pressed "bake / 400 / start" again and it went back to preheat starting at 355 when it was already set at 400 degrees. Needless to say the muffins were under-cooked at 15 minutes and the muffins at the back of the pan were crisped by the time the extra 3 minutes of pre-heating was done. Other reviews have had the same issues and have said that the temperature is all over the place. I wish I would have listened. I should not have taken the chance and do NOT recommend!

    Not a True Convection Oven

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As is commonly known, the main difference between a convection oven vs regular bake oven is how heat is circulated. A convection oven has a fan that continuously circulates air through the oven cavity. Because air is continuously circulated, convection ovens produce a much more consistent and even heat than regular bake ovens. I purchased this double convection wall oven only to find out that in both convection mode and non-convection mode, the fan cycles on and off. The only difference is that it's on more during convection. This isn't true convection technology! While it's typical to cycle the heating elements on and off throughout the cooking process, the fan should run continuously to ensure even and efficient cooking while in convection mode. I was never told this during the selling process and didn't find out until I called for service right after it was installed only to be told this is normal. You pay a premium for convection capability and this isn't it. Buyer beware!

    Beware of Self-Cleaning Function

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The look of this oven is beautiful, but it stopped working completely after using the self-clean function. I have read many complaints about this function. All of the complaints warn the user to avoid the self-clean function. Due to the high temperature, it burns out the unit, making it unusable. I cannot understand why the company would include a function that kills the oven. The button should say "self destruct" instead of "self clean".

Food doesn't cook properly in this oven because when the preheat alert sounds the actual temp in the oven is up to 100 degrees under the set temperature. The manual says, during "The preheat cycle... The actual oven temperature will go above your set temperature to offset the heat lost when your oven door is opened to insert food. This ensures that when you place your food in the oven, the oven will begin at the proper temperature. Insert your food when the preheat tone sounds." When I called Kitchenaid they sent a service person who said that none of this is true. He said if it reaches the set temp after a half hour it is operating properly. I called Kitchenaid and they said the same thing. I asked if the preheat statements in the manual were intended to mislead customers, or were just a mistake. Now I've wasted time having someone come to my house, on the phone with their customer service, and writing this review all for the joy of spending a few thousand dollars to have an oven that is little better than the one it replaced. Kitchenaid should provide accurate product information so customers can make their buying decisions based on facts.

KITCHEN AID BUIL-IN OVEN HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We purchased a new home with upgraded KITCHEN AID applicnaces. We thought it is a good solid brand. It turns out the front panel does not work correctly. The temperature is not displayed and other things. To keep it short, the warranty had sent a technician to get us a new panel. This took a month! The technician came to install the component, but it turns out to be the wrong one. Now the oven does not work at all! We rely on it to make our own organic food/bread! They will not replace the unit, but instead make me wait again to hopefully fix it this time, once the component comes. Could be a month or so! DO NOT BUY, Horrible customer service and product!

    Error code F2E1

Frequently Error code F2E1 and locked. Have to wait to cool down to reset or open door. Every time I used Convection setting or self cleaning, that error comes again. Serviced 6 times, replaced board each time, and manufacturer replaced with same model, but again had to keep calling Kitchenaid and Whirlpool. Finally, Whirlpool agreed to replace with different model. This model is a lemon.

    Paint flakes in oven interior

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I am about to begin my fourth round of calls with kitchenaid over the same problem with this oven: paint -- from the interior of the back panel that covers the fan -- flakes off and blows around the oven while in operation. Kitchenaid replaced my first oven, then replaced the back panels, and now some months later it's happening again. So unless you like eating paint chips or making warranty calls, I'd avoid this oven.
