Great lock only sometimes it glitches so it takes a while to unlock door on phone.

I moved into my first house and wanted to make it smart. So I bought this lock. Install was easy pairing with my phone was simple. Sending a “key” for my wife to open the door with her phone by herself was easy. It worked great for 3 months. Now it won’t lock unless you manually use the psychical key the door lock comes with. It will not lock when commanded from the app or outside when you tap. It sits there spinning the light and then turns red and just beeps at you. Not pleased.

wish I'd listened to other review total hunk of garbage. Will not recommend or buy from them ever again. Lock is basic with a motor and bluetooth. Should have been great just wasn't. Completely difficult to setup and use.

I had high hopes for this Gen 2 model. Sadly the touch to unlock and lock feature only works some of the time. We have an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus paired to the lock. When the lock fails to function properly putting the phone into airplane mode momentarily fixes the issue half the time. Doubt this issue will be fixed with a firmware update for the lock.

Works great from my cell phone but does not work with Alexa

Bought this because n was looking for a smart lock. I was torn between this and a biometric lock. I chose this one because I have more control over the lock with my phone which is great. Works with Bluetooth unlocks and locks door easily. I like the fact the I can send an ekey and set time of use.

it worked fine for about 6 weeks. Now suddenly I went to open it this morning from the outside, and it didn’t do anything. So I opened with the key. It went CRAZY. started unlocking and locking continuously and it has been doing this for the last two hours with the worst humming noise. No customer service. Neighbors are all outside wondering what the noise is. Cannot leave my house because I cannot lock it, and this thing is impossible to disable.

It works good with the app. The touch and go not so much.

From the beginning, this was not a good buy. The installation was simple and quick but the app did not work well. It managed to lock me out of my house 3 times and my keys were inside the house. Luckily my wife was there 2 of those 3 times. I set my key up and did not have any issues with the set-up but my key never worked after that. The battery drained constantly because it was always trying to lock(even when it was not needed). We switched to a different brand and love it but something about the Kwikset that we got was not functioning properly.

I hate carrying around keys, not because I lose them, just cause it’s annoying to me. 6 people in the house everyone has their own access! Best of all I don’t have to run down the stairs at the end of the night to check to see if the door is locked!! Golden...!

I thought with such a known brand, that they would have worked out the kinks. Always an issue when I got to the door. Had to re-open app, and took a while. Rather use my key

I like the lock with the features but im not sure why sometimes it does not unlock after the touch feature. It will turn blue showing that it understands but does not unlock....

I love the idea of this lock, but it just didn't live up to my expectations. The touch to unlock was slow and sometimes didn't work without my taking my phone out and holding it near the lock. Out of the box it doesn't have z-wave or wifi or anyway to link it up to your smart home, you have to drop another $100 to get those features.

Attractive lock, nice size and weight, easy install (used a Locksmith). Purchased two key fobs (which probably should be included with the lock) which paired easily. Additionally, installed the phone app on my Galaxy S7 Edge with no issue. The problem: 50% of the time when you tap the lock, nothing happens! You tap the lock, the blue light swirls, and then NOTHING!!!! There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this. If I just have the dongle, it happens. If I just have the phone (using the app), it happens! As a result of this, using the key is the only way to ensure the lock opens every single time which defeats the purpose of this lock! Those interested in purchasing this lock may wish to wait for the 3rd generation (assuming there is one) as the lack of consistency with respect to locking and unlocking makes this lock a risky proposition, particularly if you just arrived home and are needing to use the bathroom immediately, know that this lock will not unlock (Murphy's Law). Sorry Kwikset, get your act together and make a device that locks and unlocks EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!!

It was great for the first 3 weeks and then it froze and there was no way to fix it. Now it just beeps and I'll have to get a new lock. Not worth the money
