Terrible

I had to pull battery pack to stop motor. Replaced unit with Schlage lock with keypad and keylock. Works great! Schlage also works flawlessly with Alexa!

It never worked right and wasn't cheap.I bought as a gift for my father. After constantly having to reprogram it, I took it off and put it in file 13. Not ready for prime time.

Great in theory

Found out after I got it home you need an additional part for an extra $100 for remote connection. That was not made clear at all on the package. Took back and got the August Pro.

I also went online and bought the Kevo Plus and would highly recommend doing that. Installation was extremely easy. The only issue we had was self inflicted. The Kevo Plus installed and paired quickly. Connected to Alexa and set up a few routines to lock the door automatically at bedtime in case I forget. Remote locking and unlocking has worked flawlessly. After reading other reviews I was worried about the touch to unlock feature but it has worked every time and I've been very pleased. I do have one complaint and that is the battery compartment. What should have been a simple solution making the compartment easy to access was not taken. Instead when I finally have to replace the batteries I will have to unscrew the cover and remove it. A minor complaint but depending on battery life could be a little annoying. Overall I am extremely pleased with my purchase so far.

Worst lock ever

I am better off hiding the key under a rock out by the door! Eats batteries like no tomorrow. Doesn't matter if they are dollar store batteries or $20 batteries- they never last. (Pain to replace, also.) In order to unlock the bolt, the app must be open or else you stand there for at minimum 2 minutes. Easier to just get the key out from under said rock in comment above. An absolute waste of money. Just get the combination one. Save yourself the hassle!

The batteries in your Kevo deadbolts should last around 1-year with normal use if your locks are running through batteries fast than that please give our team a call at 1-800-327-5625 so that we may troubleshoot with you. To increase the consistency of your Touch to Open experience please try uninstalling the Kevo App, restarting your device, and reinstalling the App. After doing so also perform the recalibration procedures as outlined in the "Help" section of the app. We've found that this helps most users to have near perfect operation of their Kevo Deadbolt.

Great lcok, convenient when it works

Luckily, so far most times it didn't work my hands were empty and it wasn't a big deal. Times when I came in and had my hands full or had kids with me it worked flawlessly, one little to uh and within 2-3 seconds it's unlocked. Installation wasnt too bad, after installation it took almost 30 minutes to download updates and you need to leave your phone within 20 feet of the lock which was a little annoying. It looks great once installed and I'd definitely recommend it.

Solid Lock

Teaching it to operate was simple. I thought this would work with the Amazon Echo but I guess I read wrong, it would be perfect if it did just to lock the door, i understand unlocking would create security problems.

Don't forget your normal key

I understand if it was searching for a signal but it won't even light up anymore. I can fix it temporarily by taking the batteries out and then putting them back in, but then it does it again. Refuses to connect to the phones and won't even give a status light on the lock. Sure will lock the door behind you though and trap you outside if you forgot your actual key. Bringing it back to best buy and returning it. Hopefully to find a system that has wifi built in and not having to buy an extra 99 dollar module

Utterly awful battery life.

Customer service are completely useless so you end up with an unreliable lock that periodically locks or unlocks itself as the batteries start to die. And to make matters worse, you have to unscrew the cover to change the batteries - there's not even an easy way to do this. DO NOT BUY. I wasted my money so you don't have to.

Make sure your device is supported.

Few days ago I changed over to the Oneplus 3T and can't load the app! It's not supported! On the box said it has Android support, but only for the phones Kevo approves. Reached out to the customer service, and they say use the key fob for how ever long it takes them. So I have a worthless $300 package mounted to the door and router. should have gone with my intuition of getting the August Smart Lock. At the time Kevo offered a little cost savings and Nest support. That Nest support and cost savings bought me a worthless lock.
