With their fifth album, Alter Bridge have found their sound yet again with an ever evolving signature that is hard to miss. The singer Myles Kennedy taking influence from his time with Slash and his solo project as well as Kennedies own solo recordings(yet to be released), and Mark Tremonti, the guitarist, taking his own heavy tones from HIS solo project(same as his last name) the two wrote some of the best that Alter Bridge has to offer. Adding to the songs are Scott "FLIP" Phillips on the drums to give them their kick and Brian Marshall on the Bass to give them their rumble. I will note that in my truck i have replaced my speakers and added in a 10 inch subwoofer... Both Flips drums and Brians thunder are heard. Let me be the first to say! And as a die hard AB fan to hear that an unreleased song "Breathe" from their 2004 album, One Day Remains is finally coming to light, I cant be more excited. Alter Bridge are back again to prove their merits, for thew songs show us to open our eyes and see whats not so black and white about the world, and to make it a better place for ourselves and our next generations to come.

This band is underrated. Every song on every CD can stand alone. This CD is another excellent CD with quality music, meaningful lyrics. The talent from each of the members is the highest quality. Myles Kennedy has one of the best singing voices. TremontI on the guitar is above and beyond. The four together are simply the one of the best musical groups. I hope they don't change and keep doing exactly what they are doing. Each song is excellent and my favs so far are Losing Patience (the guitar is AMAZING), Cradle to the Grave, This Side of Fate. Breathe, the extra song on my best buy CD, is excellent. Poison in your veins is also great. The Other Side is great. Their music is so rich with the way the songs are composed, how they play their instruments, and Myles' super wide strong voice. This record will keep me busy until they come out with their next CD. Enjoy!!

Of course, anyone who was a fan of Creed at the dawn of the new millennium, would know that Alter Bridge consists of three-quarters of Creed, but with a different lead singer. That lead singer, Myles Kennedy, is an excellent lead singer who also plays proficient guitar himself. But this is certainly not "Creed - Part 2". The musical arrangements and song themes are different. This is evident in the touch of some exotic key signatures here and there. There are no "anthems" per se (as was characteristic of Creed's biggest hits). But make no mistake. The songs are still memorable and perhaps just more interesting. The band still rocks heavily and the limited edition holographic CD cover is a nice packaging plus. Alter Bridge already has several releases out there, including a live CD/DVD set.
