Great product -best buy is terrible

This product is amazing buy it. But not from bestbuy.——————- i purchased this item full price, 2 days later they drop the price. I contact chat price match, agent complies and fails to submit a complete action, fast forward to never receiving the price match refund, only to be told it was not completed after i received confirmation, stating “chat disconnected” the new agent states out of 15 day policies. Good luck. Not honoring or accepting the failures of the processing. Great job best buy 5 stars

    INSTALL ChimeraOS!

To everyone here complaining that the software is bunk; you’re right, its terrible. ChimeraOS is a free community developed alternative to SteamOS and even in its current pre-release phase for the Legion Go, it provides a much better experience than Windows and it’s getting better and better every week as it gets updated. If you are, at all, concerned about software that isn’t fully baked, it should be in a much more complete state by mid-December or early January at the very latest. Games are currently fully working, but some buttons to navigate the UI don’t work.

I am in love with my new toy, coming from a steam deck this is hands down. I can play any game especially call of duty which is my favorite. I actually purchased the open box and the legion looked new, so if you're curious about getting one, dont hesitate, its worth it.

Give it 5 Years and I think this could be great!

I love the idea of having an on the go handheld PC, capable of playing my favorite games however there are some issues with this one. The intial setup took 2 hours for updates and drivers to install, the system is very slow on windows 11. After having downloaded a couple games I decided to see what it was capable of, first off if you expect to play any game on DirectX11/12 forget playing it on the 1440p resolution screen you will have to scale the resolution down to 1080p or lower, next the system would not get above 24 FPS in Cyberpunk (which I understand is a poorly optimized graphically intense game) with low settings and RT turned off. The system is great for smaller games like Stardew, Minecraft, and Diablo IV (if settings are scaled properly). I can’t justify spending $699 on this system or even the current $499 holiday prices, if you are going to spend this much I would recommend a lower end Gaming Laptop or even a PS5 or Xbox Series Console which is a big deal for me to say because I’ve been on PC so long. The Z1 Extreme certainly had improvements over the Z1 but FSR 3.0 frame gen lacks in improvements for the Z1 extremes FPS counter, it showed me very little improvement when toggled on (1-2FPS) in game. If you are looking for a handheld to play games that ARE NOT graphically demanding and you still want the functionality of Windows I would recommend this system to you. However if you are looking for a lower maintenance slightly faster OS and better overall UI I would strongly recommend the Steam Deck. The Legion Go also gets HOT I mean REALLY HOT, there were times even using this system where it was uncomfortableto touch the screen because it was so hot. Finally if you look at the actual specs of the Device the 7500MT/s RAM has very little added benefits and the 1TB SSD from SK Hynix has a underwhelming read/write speed leading to long loading screens and stutters in game. (Overall) if you are looking to buy a handheld at this price point, buy a low end gaming laptop, if you really need a handheld buy a Steam Deck, I think there is a future if Lenovo if they and AMD can resolve some pretty glaring issues with FSR 3.0 and lenovo needs to use a faster SSD.

    Too many poor design choices

I'm very experienced with handheld PCs, having had the Steam Deck, the ROG Ally, and two devices by independent Chinese manufactures. The Lenovo Go looks promising on paper but ultimately is just not a good device. To start, the positives. The build quality of the central unit is excellent and it feels heavy and solid in the hand. The screen is vibrant and beautiful to look at. The buttons and joysticks all feel decent. Now onto the negatives. The ergonomics is poor. The bottom edger of the controllers are not rounded off, so holding the device vertically is not comfortable. Holding it horizontally works fairly well, so this is quite subjective. In order to accommodate the detachable controllers, this device has multiple extra buttons on the sides and the back. Unlike the buttons on the Deck and the Ally however, these buttons are extremely easy to accidentally depress with normal use, leading to lots of random clicking sensation/sounds while gaming. The touchpad doesn't have haptic feedback, which makes operation not very satisfying. The speakers are mediocre. They're not awful but they're noticeably worse then the Deck and the Ally. The software is awful. It is barely functional and often just doesn't start up. There is no custom button mapping (you can only map the extra buttons to the existing face buttons). There is custom fan curves. There is no FPS capping. The gyro function basically doesn't exist. The custom TDP doesn't work. The overlay design is awful. Opening the useful overlay (on the R side) requires pressing the button THREE times. The installed drivers are outdated and the included AMD software won't even open due to this. The home screen of the gaming software looks ugly and instead of opening to your library, it opens to the ugly home screen. This device is overall not a good experience. If you are very experienced in tinkering with Windows and side-loading software to make it useable, then it might be for you. But if you just want a comfortable, competent gaming experience out of the box, DO NOT BUY this device.

    Terrible Customer Satisfaction

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had an Ally that I returned to get this. I opted to put the money on a gift card so I could immediately go online and preorder. Up until launch day it said my order was expected to ship on launch day. Then "Launch Day", October 31st comes and all of a sudden my order says its expected to ship November 3rd. Now I wake up on November 1st to an email saying that my order is delayed, and if it is not fulfilled by November 15th, they will refund me. And the site on launch day said the item was out of stock, but even the day before it allowed you to preorder and still said it would ship on or by October 31st. Why is the communication with inventory and expectation so bad? You should have known inventory ahead of time and pre-orders at the least should have been fulfilled. It's even more upsetting to know my money is now locked to these gift cards if refunded, and I can't just go to Micro Center and pick up on, who has 50+ units in stock.

    Looks can be deceiving.

Too many buttons. Too big. 800p looks very blurry. Performance is worse than the Ally. Button layout for start and select, and the legion space buttons are not thought out. The screen is extremely overkill in terms of frame rate and resolution, and the portrait display is horrible. Idk why anyone would get this. Steam deck and Ally are actual handhelds, this is like a big gaming laptop/tablet with 6000 buttons
