60fps when in 1080 mode average (90fps in black ops 6). Struggles with the full resolution of the screen. so think of the 144hz and QHD Display as an extra for watching media but not for gaming.

The device itself is amazing, but the rgb on the right controller already died out a week into using it and I’ve tried every possible fix but no luck. It’s pretty disappointing for a $600 purchase.

Best Handheld PC Option to Date

I picked this handheld over others based on several reviews and the tech specs. The main topics everyone is concerned with are screen, battery, performance, weight, controls: -The screen is great even for not being OLED. High definition, large for a handheld and looks amazing. -The battery is pretty good. I haven't had issues with it running down quickly, unless using it in performance mode for an extended time. I use it about 50/50 in handheld and docked. -It has performed very well for all the tasks I have used it for. I noticed a little performance issue when playing a demanding game with a ton going on all at once. The graphics dropped some, but the game play was still smooth. -It is a bigger handheld with higher weight to it, but you get what you pay for. It has a better screen, battery, and performance based on its size, so I take it as a good trade off. Sometimes when using it handheld I open the kickstand some and rest it that way while using it to take some of the weight. This has worked great, and I don't have any issues using it for a couple hours this way. -Some have said the controls are too big and uncomfortable, but this has not been my experience. I have average sized hands, and I think it feels and functions well. Switch and Switch Lite controls have always been small to my liking. Two of the buttons aren’t as easy to reach on the left controller, but it hasn’t been a big issue so far. I also haven’t used the back buttons yet. The joysticks, triggers, and buttons all feel pretty solid. I think one of the big points of the Legion Go are the removable, Switch like controllers. Removing them from the screen and putting it on a table is great for extended, mobile play. The FPS mode of the right controller takes a little getting used to, but it has been nice to have a mouse on the go for certain tasks. Pairing the device with a small, portable, wireless mouse and keyboard have also worked well when needing more desktop features while away from my dock. The Legion Go has performed very well so far for me. I have used it for everything I could need a desktop PC or handheld PC for: gaming, web browsing, email, watching movies, word docs, 3D printing, 3D modeling, ext. Does it do everything a desktop does? I think so. Does it do it as well as a desktop can possibly do it? No, and I don’t expect it to. It isn’t a desktop, and it will never fully replace one. For me it serves the purpose I have right now, and someday I will probably have a better desktop but to use for all those things, but I will still have this as a mobile, handheld pc. I don’t have much to say that’s negative other than SSD space. I got the 512GB version because it was on a huge sale. I do wish I had the 1TB versions, but I might just upgrade the internal SSD to 2TB at some point. The money I saved on the device would pay for the upgrade so I will still be ahead.

So I came from a Steam Deck that I really liked, but that lasted just over a year before it died on me. So I figured I loved my last lenovo laptop so ill give them a try, plus the removeable game pads looked useful. Pros: - Beautiful screen! great colors, large enough to see text and with the 144hz I havent seen any tearing or negatives for the screen. - Ryzen Z1 extreme, runs almost all of my games without issues and looks way better then the Deck did. Nov. 5th GPU update on lenovos website has improved performance for me, some games by just a couple of FPS but others got a jump from 60 to 130. Soooo happy to get free performance, and im sure itll just keep getting better as newer drivers come out. - Detachable controllers, I can prop up the tablet portion of the Go on the desk and sit with my hands in my lap and hold the controlls comfertably for hours. - Kickstand, Stong and solid! - Price, at 699, you get a lot for the money. - Temps, mid to low 60 while gaming handheld at performance settings. and plugged in it draws more watts but rarely goes over 70c - Between the touch pad and the precise touch screen, I havent missed using a mouse at all. I havent tried the FPS controller much but it did seem like a solid option once I get used to it. - Storage, I got the 512 version but ordered a 2tb ssd and slapped that in day one and absolutely love it. It was relatively easy to switch it out with the exception of the backplate removal, felt like i was going to brake something while popping that off. but it did go back together perfectly without any damages. but be careful. - Micro SD slot, easy cheaper way to expand storage, and it works.... take that ROG Ally HA! - Boots up and into windows super fast, the legion software takes twice as long to load then windows though...But the quick menu that lets you change brightness/resolution/performance levels etc. are really useful and have worked flawlessly for me. - No crashing, ive seen some people complain about crashing but maybe since I have a fresh install of windows, I have had no such problems. Cons: - Weight, I liked to play the Steam Deck while laying in bed and this isnt much heavier but the bottom corner of the controllers dig into my palms and gets uncomfortable quickly. - Controller customization, no way to change the dead zones on the joysticks, they are a little annoying but they arnt too bad, not near as bad as the Deck was. hopefully a software update will enable this. - Older game compatability, So far I have came across 2 games I cannot play. Gothic 3 loads but crashes right after and NFSMW 2005 wont even launch. I was able to get both working on the Deck with a little trouble shooting but I havent had any luck on the Go. Hopefully drivers updates will help? - Battery saver, So my lenovo laptop has a battery saver option so you can keep the battery from charging over 60% while plugged in and gaming, videos before the Go was released said this would have that too but I havent came across that option yet, probably in a future update? All in all, I am happy with it, the screen, gpu & controllers are well worth getting this for, if your in the market.
