Works fine, at first.

After I turned cortana off it immediately became buggy, grew worse over time. I'm now having trouble even writing this review because of how laggy it's become. Even for simplistic things like youtube and twitter it's now beginning to struggle.. I've barely installed anything on this thing, no games or anything like that. I have virus and malware protection. Clear internet. Everything. I simply do not understand how I've had this product FOR LESS THAN A YEAR and am already having problems. Beyond disappointed. Cannot believe I wasted my money on this.

Posted .This is a fast system with its AMD A12-9720P processor and 8GB of RAM. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Nice when it works

I've had this in to the Geek squad twice now because of fatal errors. The first time required a complete system reset, and the machine continued to restart randomly.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaCentre 520-24 All-In-One system. Occasionally, Windows 10 updates cause the type of errors you are describing due to missing BIOS/driver updates. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window. Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

Try to press and hold the F1 key then turn on the computer. When the Lenovo BIOS Setup Utility program is displayed, release the F1 key. There should be a selection from the onscreen menu to "restore to factory settings". Select this and let the device reset. Once the reset is complete restart the computer. If this does not fix the issue, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Get What You Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, let me say that I only bought a new computer because my old one could not upgrade to Windows 10 so all of my browsers and software no longer could update for the past year. And honestly, after having this Lenovo for two days, I dearly MISS my old PC. My old one was a 2009 HP running Windows Vista. Other than having a bad driver on it too, it ran almost perfect compared to this one. First off, it runs slower - it takes twice as long for programs to open. No matter what browser I use, it runs slow. The internet connection is less stable - even though I have my own WiFi router. I am constantly having to disconnect and reconnect. When trying to access the Settings, to personalize everything, it kept freezing up or wouldn't open at all! I kept having to restart it just to do what I wanted to do. Do I know the cause of this poor processing, yes, yes I do. You see, when I first started up the computer, Cortana was turned on and it was the fastest and smoothest operating system I've ever used. I was like WOW! But then.....then I turned off Cortana. After turning it off, that's when the whole computing world changed in my office. Now why did I have to go turning off Cortana? Many reasons. Is it coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not. I haven't installed any programs other than Office, so it can't be memory usage so soon in the game. Who knows? I think it is just because this is an economy PC, so it will be iffy on performance. But hey, you get what you can get. If money is not an issue, go for the $800+ models by HP, Samsung, and maybe Dell.

Windows 10 has Microsoft Office 365 already installed as a 30-day trial. To keep this software you only need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed additional Office software on top of the programs already on the system, this could be the cause of the slowness of your system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Good System for a Good Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you're looking for a good computer to do most of the things that most people need to do with computers - Office, Netflix, Surfing the Internet - this is a good deal. It works well. The screen is bright. Setting it up is a breeze. I was a bit wary of buying an AMD system, but I am glad I did. I saved money and it's more than fast enough for what I do every day. My only nitpick: The Lenovo Vantage software could be made more intuitive.

Good value for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought this to go along with my older laptop. Set up was easy and quick and the speed is fine. Obviously if you're into gaming you probably need something else, but for everyday at home use this is a good machine for the money. I also purchased a wireless printer and connecting it was also easy. Everything was done in about 20-30 minutes which included me reading instructions, lol. I'm only giving it 4 stars at this point because time will tell how well it continues to function, but no problems so far. I did buy the 1yr Best Buy protection. I've found that "if" most electronics are going to fail they usually do it within the first 12 months. Happy with my choice.

Tech support currently has mine...

I tried everything I knew to remedy the issue. I called tech support and basically tried those things again. Had to send it in for warranty repair. (This is the main computer in my business..the server for my network so, difficult to be without it!) My frustration comes from checking the status of the repair. I don't get much info from the website they send you to for status updates. I had checked the tracking on my package and it had been received on 10/17. I called on 10/22 and was told it was never received. I have proof of delivery from USPS. I called this morning and was told it had been received and parts were ordered last Friday, 10/19. On FB chat, I was told it wasn't received until 9:47 yesterday morning (10/23). I can't get any estimate on how long I'm going to be without my computer. This is a real hardship for my business. I have had Lenovo all in ones before and had very good experience. As a matter of fact...every computer in my store but one is a Lenovo. This whole tech support/repair situation is my big concern. This computer wasn't even 3 months old when I experienced problems but could be OK with that if I can get it repaired and returned quickly. That's obviously not going to happen.
