If you are getting less than expected broadcast video quality fro your webcam and microphone, the most significant way to quickly improve the picture quality is to use the right lighting. Choose a warm, bright light that's evenly distributed throughout the room. Don't point the camera directly at the light. Try to position the Chromebook so that it's level with your face or object you want to take a picture of. It is lightweight and efficient for being a back up laptop. I wanted to do simple graphics but I'll just have to spend the big bucks and buy another brand. Its really like an android phone with a keyboard. Don't purchase if you're looking to do hardcore school work unless you're willing to purchase apps from Microsoft through a yearly subscription. I suggest try getting a compatible stylus for the screen if you have the patience enough to attempt simple graphics and can find a great app to download.

This model ships with the Chrome Operating System and is compatible with Google Play Store APPs. Being a Chromebook, this device uses Google Docs for office type programs. Google Docs is completely compatible with Microsoft Office Programs and this is a free service through the Google Server. If you must have the actual Microsoft Office Programs, you can purchase Microsoft Office 365 for this Chromebook at the Google Play Store.

Note: my wife liked the chrome book so i went to buy another from best buy but best buy raised the price by 60.00 so i called for a price match but best buy would not match ebay new exact same chrome book so bought way cheaper from ebay. now getting ready to buy another for father inlaw

Works great, chrome is very optimized, no windows laptop in this price range will come close to preforming as well as this. I bought this because I need an e-reader to use for textbooks in class and I wanted something that has more of a desktop experience. Unfortunately, the resolution is pretty low for an almost 12 inch screen and is too blurry to use as an e-reader. The colors on the screen are very good compared to other chrombooks in this price range though.
