worked for a couple of weeks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son was so excited to get this computer - he is a big game player and at first the computer was great - really fast! However, after about three weeks it started freezing up and was running very slow. Several scans did not show any viruses. Brought it back to Best Buy for service as we thought it was a virus. Found out the hard drive had completely failed. Not sure if it was a fluke, but did not repurchase this model. We went with another company.

Nice Balance and Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall very please with quality of Workstation. With the only issue being Power Supply Size. 280 Watt Power Supply is too small for a Workstation like this. Can not upgrade Video Card with this small of a Power Supply. Also wish Warranty was at least 2 years. On plus size very quite and fast for i5. Not a lot of Bloat Ware which is a good thing

Solid mid-level desktop computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My desktop recently crashed and needed a replacement fairly quickly. I originally bought a mac mini, and although it was easy to set-up, MS Office kept asking me to reactivate my account on it. In addition, the learning curve was a bit steep for my family members. I returned this and picked up the Lenovo with the i5 Intel processor, 1TB of hard disk space, 8gb of ram and 2gb of dedicated video. It was simple to set-up, Office works like a charm, and the addition of Windows 8.1 allows you to switch to something that looks/acts just like Windows 7. For basic computing needs, this should fit the bill for at least 3-4 years. If you're looking to game, you already know you'll need to update the video card and power supply. Having a handle built into the top of the case as well as housing the USB and SD outlets was a great idea! One of the USB's is always on, so you can charge a phone anytime, even when the desktop is powered off.

People who complain are rookies.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Straight to the point.....Expandable to 32G is great even though 80% of people who buy this PC wont need that much(me included). 1TB is good for a main hard drive for people who don't need that much. I have a total of 3 hard drives in this Lenovo K450e. I am a movie, music and program addict. It only fits 2 in the slot but you can put 3 in if you really want. Its fast "Folks". I shopped for 2 months and this is what I got. This PC is too much for your average "old person" and just the right amount for that young person who wants to do all kinds of stuff. I don't game.....at all on PC. So if you want a PC that is fast and nice get this one. It has the best stock screen saver I have ever seen. Im not changing it. Easy setup with no problems and this was an open box for $638. Only people who complain don't know anything about computers. People who complain about windows 8.1....you don't have to use metro, use just the desktop and its great. I never use metro"tiles". Use Google people.... before complaining. Pro's - Bluetooth, decent graphics card, upgradeable, FAST. . Con's - Only 1 Optical drive will fit. That top spot is just for show. Unless you want to bust out a grinder, you can't install a second. BLOATWARE, AKA, STUFF YOU DONT NEED, AND LOTS OF IT. JUST UNINSTALL IT

Rock solid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is rock solid overall a great computer for the price, fair amount of bang for the buck. Easy to upgrade Power supply, Ram, Second Hard drive and Video card open set up with lots of room. On the downside this still has the same design flaw as the Lenovo I bought 5 years ago. the way they seat the hard drives allows for a buzzing from the case. It is easily fixable by adding a noise damper to the bottom of the drive where it touches the case. I highly recommend removing all the bloatware programs and getting a start menu replacement app as it has windows 8.1

Good specs with mid range features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one has the i5 3.2ghz quad core processor, a 1tb 7200rpm hard drive, a GT720 2gb dedicated video card, and 802.11ac wireless; all a noticeable step up from entry level AMD/Pentium/i3 desktops and the graphics card is a plus. I bought it after the Windows 10 introduction and immediately upgraded which was painless. Good construction but only room for 1 more HD

Powerful Desktop - Graphics Options Limited
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For most users needing a power computer, this is a good one. The only issue I have is around the graphic ports available. The NVIDIA GT 720 card on the unit has one HDMI port and one VGA port. This is not the port options you would see if you went to NVIDIA site and looked at the GeForce GT 720 card. You would see HDMI, VGA, and DVI-D ports on the card on the NVIDIA site. For some reason, Lenovo chose to utilize a card option with only VGA and HDMI. In addition, the integrated Graphics on the i5-4460 CPU is disabled so the the additional ports (HDMI and VGA) on the rear of the unit will not provide a video output. I called Lenovo Technical support to confirm this. Therefore, in a dual monitor set-up, you are limited to one HDMI output and one VGA output from this desktop. This will really only be a problem for users desiring more than one monitor on a digital port, but for a high performance machine, it is typically the norm to need multiple monitors. Just something to be aware of. Other than the video ports, I am happy with the performance of the unit.

Hopeful, again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did the reseach...Came in to replace my last more expensive Lenovo which had serious issues after only 4 years. I understand that is the average lifetime and doesn't matter what the cost. An associate showed me a Asus rog with pretty lights which was suppose to be better (not a gamer#. That crashed and I got the blue light special before I had it a week and never really got a chance to use it. So, my husband packed it up and we took it back to exchange for the i7 which had better reviews. The associate who came to help me told me he didnt understand why they would show me the Asus and told me to save the extra $500 and get this Lenovo #which was what I came in for in the first place.# I had this for 2 weeks now and it didn't crash through the over 100 updates and I havent had any issues yet. Only complaint is the ports in the back are only 4 and the disc drive is flimsy but I knew that . I do notice it slowing down #windows) but is much faster than windows 7 and hasn't locked up yet. A lot of nonsense on windows 8 but didn't have the patience to wait for windows 10. The reviews are very good on this unit and Lenovo has a high rating even though I feel I should have gotten longer on my other Lenovo. Set up was easy and the junk is average.. I only use it for my pictures and surfing. Hopefully I won't have any issues.

Good mid line computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My older PC gaming computer went bad. It would have cost me too much to get it running again. This one was the minimum I wanted to get back in the game and be able to also upgrade easily. Ive had it a week now and to be honest its quite nice. I can actually RUN Battlefield 4 (notorious resource hog game) on this with zero lag(on my older system I got a bottleneck graphics lag..and BF4 was the only game out now I could NOT run on it..just needed too much graphics card) runs great on this on all but the highest settings. Good purchase that should last some time and be up-gradable as I go along.. Only real cons were all the Lenovo bloatware that was included and needed to be weeded out.

Fast & Quiet Computer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer about a week ago and am very happy with it. It's sitting on the floor next to my desk and I can barely hear it working. It's fast, has good memory for me to multitask with online programs and photo editing. I was able to get it on sale, which made it even better. I have a Lenovo laptop too which is why I went for this brand for a desktop. I did purchase the Geek Squad protection. They set it up for me, including software, and then went through how to use it with me when I went to pick it up (less than 24 hours from purchasing it). So far, no issues!
