It was packaged poorly, but surprisingly no apparent problems or damage was caused by sloppy shipping. Just because it was an "open box refurbished" doesn't mean it couldn't use a little bubble wrap or some type of padding.

My wife has a Lenovo laptop too so I used her cord and it works just fine, so it has to be a defective charging cord. Called Best Buy. First, you call the local store's phone # and can never speak to someone in the store. You get rerouted to some call center over seas where every other sentence is "I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time hearing you." Well, maybe if you weren't on the other side of the planet the signal would be better. Second, their only suggestion was to go back to the store. The issue is that there isn't a Best Buy in my town. It would cost more in gas to drive to the store than to buy a new cord from the Lenovo site directly. At this point, that Best Buy Total thing that they talked me into getting is seeming pretty worthless at the moment. There is absolutely no point in buying it, and don't bother to call your local best buy unless you want to speak to someone in Pakistan that tries to tell you their name is Joe. P.S. - The computer is fantastic. Defective cords happen. It's not Lenovo that I am mad at.

This is a system error as I followed 4 different sets of instructions plus restarting my computer. I have had two Lenovo laptops previously without this problem.
