Ok if you don't plan on upgrading hardware
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a good price but I wanted to install a solid state drive and more ram. Can't do it on this laptop. So I had to get one that was customizable.

Low price minimal functionality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a lot of problems initially. Programs not loading, sticky keys. Had to have keyboard replaces. In the shop more in first 6 months that I used. Works OK, but limited capacity. Best to invest in something more expensive.

Terrific Portable Small LapTop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was attracted to the netbook style of the product, but found it a broader capability small laptop. It has Bluetooth (look in the settings), and easily connects to WiFi networks. With Windows 10 installed, use was nearly immediate after opening. It is a second good experience with the INTEL Atom processor, which has adequate speed for this size. Good looking red case, a nice Lenovo job. MSN accounts sync quickly with Windows 10, there is also a Windows Office 365 installed. Memory can be supplemented with a mini SDHC chip. There is no Ethernet connection, if needed, consider a docking adapter; or set up with WiFi at the BestBuy store. Very light, about 3 pounds, good sound & picture. The price is a steal. Finger pad does not scroll except by margins. Does project/connect for MiraCast protocol (cf MSN Adapter). Battery fast charges; HDMI & 2 USB ports (2.0). Handles Broadband streaming very well (ie home or office cable) other VPN & Windows networking wirelessly. Can use voice recognition (Cortana) & picture password entry etc. Appears single band, but good latest wifi protocol. Windows 10 itemizes MAC number (physical address) under Settings for internet (advanced). A happy user.

For pre teens only
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first I was impressed. However after a few days I noticed the keyboard area was coming loose. The speed was good the performance was on point... just felt cheap

A Very Good Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice little notebook for the price. The keyboard and 180 degree travel screen are great. The battery life for me has been 8+ hours. Unlike others I have not had any issues with WiFi. This notebook uses 32-bit Windows 10 which makes much better use of the limited 2G of RAM. I can easily have two major application in RAM at the same time. The Atom CPU is surprisingly responsive - much, much better than my old Windows netbook. If you like using gestures for browsing the Internet, the track pad is a real downer. The AC adapter is bulkier and heavier than those for other notebooks in this price range.

OK
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wifi range poor. Drive access time slow. Ok for a kid to play with. I added a USB wifi and disabled onboard wifi. Much better wifi range after that.

Great design, great value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the computer I ended up getting after returning a more expensive and more powerful laptop that felt cheaply made and overly complicated. Love the Best Buy return policy. The idea pad 100s is well made, solid construction, weighs only 1kg, easy to use, feels nice to the touch, thin and lightweight, comes with the newest windows 10 operating system. It does not have the fastest processor but it is fine for my needs (basic email and word processor.) It does not come with a lot of memory but I was able to double the memory by purchasing a micro SD card for $15. It has flash memory (instead of a hard drive), and no CD rom drive so fewer moving parts to break. The design is beautiful and pleasing to use, feels like a macbook air. I absolutely love it!

Great netbook for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one for my son to use at school. After setting it up I went out and bought one for myself for work. It's fast and light. the battery life is good. the keyboard is a good size and responds well. What I don't like is the drive is small. It does however, have a micro sd slot in the side for expansion capabilities. It only comes with USB 2.0. And the power cord has a non standard plug on it that looks a bit on the flimsy side. I have streamed video on it and it did surprisingly well. I have and will recommend this netbook as a low cost alternative to a laptop.

Too slow
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not worth it, too slow. If I could go back in time I would have bought a faster and more robust system.

Great little laptop at a super price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll summarize things here, but if you want more detail I'm doing a blog series on this laptop: http://www.putting-tech-in-its-place.com/blog-1/?tag=%24199+laptop If you want to edit video, play high-end games, or store lots of pictures, don't get this laptop. For the rest of us, this is an outstanding laptop for the money. This laptop is small and really light. It comes with a great keyboard and gets fantastic battery life. The mouse and screen are just so-so, but work well enough. The Atom processor and RAM are good enough for web browsing and Microsoft Office. One tip: run Disk Cleanup as administrator (the shield icon) after running through all the Windows updates; this will clear up several gigabytes. After a month's use (and a microSD card installed) I still have more than 10GB of space free.

Ram inadequate
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer purely for homework and leisurely Netflix activities and it could not load even the simplest video. I made sure I had excellent wifi just to be sure and it still froze every 5-8 minutes. Absolutely not worth it's price.

Lenovo Laptop 80R2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer less than a year ago and it is falling apart. There is no visible damage to the computer, no knicks, scratches.. it has never been dropped or mishandled. The plastic border around the screen is coming off of the computer which in turn makes it difficult to close the lid. The computer will not store the WIFI password either. I definitely would NOT recommend anyone buying this computer.

Didn't last for two weeks, honest
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so anxious and happy to purchase a small, light-weight computer for looking up and sending email, looking up college assignments online, etc., especially when traveling. This Lenovo Idea computer did not last even two week. I would love to get my money back but I have been super busy at work and haven't had a chance to go back to Best Buy. Give me a new computer

Awesome for everyday usage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for everyday using. You'll love it. I bought it to use just for simple internet browsing, music, and simple videos. The battery life last a very long time. It's very simple to set up and very light weight. I bought it when it was for sale for $149 and I had $20 Best Buy rewards so for the money you can't beat it.
