But when used with a multi-monitor setup over thunderbolt, the laptop screen would flicker occasionally, without anything obvious causing it. Additionally, it requires an especially powerful charger, so charging over thunderbolt from most hubs becomes impossible. We ended up returning it.

It keeps shutting down at random times. I work from home and while on a conference call, it decided to shut down on several occasions. I've had tech support out to my home to no avail as well as a remote Geek Squad person who worked on it for about an hour or more trying to resolve the issue.

Regarding your issue with battery life – there are lots of variables that contribute to shorter battery life. Thankfully, many of those variables can be adjusted. By default, the system will tend to give more speed when needed, which can sacrifice battery life. If you want to squeeze out more battery life, we recommend users utilize the Lenovo Vantage application that is preinstalled to adjust settings related to power and battery performance. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words. With noise suppression, the latest software update should resolve this.
