Many great features, but strange setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found this tablet when I was looking for a replacement of a much more expensive tablet that suddenly stopped connecting to the internet. I mostly use it for surfing, listening to music, and reading and keeping tabs on my stocks so I use it a lo, but I don't need a high end tablet to do that. The Lenovo came to my attention because of the 32 gigs of memory and the price. Oddly, there is also a 16 GB model that costs $20 more. Strange. It also offered the Android 7 operating system. After having a couple older tablets become obsolete because of the age of their operating systems, I wanted one that would be recent, if not completely up to date. To my surprise, It turned out that the tab comes with two upgrades that lift the OS to 8.1. That's better than any of the other "name" tablets that I saw so I am delighted, but it would have made the decision to buy it a lot easier. The upgrades are nice, but before the 7.1.1 installation started, I had installed the Kindle app. When I tried to use it a little while later, it wouldn't work. Turned out that the 7.1.1 upgrade had started and other apps won't work when an upgrade is working. When the upgrade was complete, I was able to start Kindle with no problem. So I'm happy with upgrade, but it would have been nice if I found out about the installation issue before the upgrades started. At first, it was very hard to input data because at times, the touch screen was very insensitive some of the time. Trying to input my pin on the lock screen torture the first time I tried it. Sometimes my finger touch wouldn't register and if it did, it would take two or three seconds to appear on the screen. It seemed to need very hard presses to register. The problem didn't happen all the time, but it was pretty common at first. The good news is that the problem has improved a lot since I first started using the tablet. I was pretty sure I was going to have to return the tab after the first day but after using it little longer, the input got a lot easier. It still gives me a little trouble, but it's still improving and a stylus helps so I think I'm gonna keep it. On the second day after bringing the tablet home, I was trying to set up the facial recognition feature and got a message that it couldn't connect to the camera. I got the same message when I tried to use the camera app. I was considering taking it back to the store, but I tried it one more time on the morning of the third day, and lo and behold camera worked just fine. The facial recognition - not so much. It's still working a couple of days later by the way. This is another thing that made me think I would have to return it, but it's still working fine so it's on probation but right now, I 'm keeping it. This tab comes with the Dolby app. As I mentioned earlier, I have owned other tablets, and a couple of them cost three or four times the cost of this one. With Dolby on, the sound from this tablet outshines all of them. Before I bought the tab, I read some complaints about problems with installation of a micro SD card, but there were no problems for me. I installed an old 32 GB card from another device, and it worked great. The tab didn't even want to reformat it, and there was no data loss so I avoided the need to reinstall around 20 GB of data that would have been lost. n summary, this tablet has great features: including an up to date operating system, 32 GB of of on board storage, and the Dolby app. The screen is bright and easy to read. Overall, I think it is a real gem for the price. If you are looking for something for general household use or to replace an old tablet at a reasonable cost, this is a good one choice. I took one star off because of the setup problems and the still unresolved problem with the response of the touch screen.Especially because this tablet sells at a fairly low price point for people who might not be all that familiar with tablet "psychology". it should provide some instructions. The tiny little booklet that came with it was no help at all. I would recommend this tablet to a friend, but only if I can help set it up. .

Decent Tab for the Price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a Lenovo fan because of my 27" All-In-One Desktop, so I decided to buy this tablet for under $150.00. The Samsung tablets are upwards of $300 and with lame 16gb. This one comes with 32gb and expandable via a storage card. I do like the tablet. My only wish is that it had a better video and screen resolution as I Skype video with my partner regularly and the resolution isn't super clear. Also, it's impossible to find a case and/or keyboard for this tablet. Lenovo has never offered one and hard to find one that fits on Amazon or anywhere else. I tried 3 different kinds before finally settling for the Logitech universal keyboard folio. So, be prepared that you won't find an exact match for this tablet if you are looking for a snug folio w/keyboard.

Great Android Tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lenovo Tab 4 10 inch tablet is very fast and flexible for all needs. It has a bright screen, a great on-screen keyboard, and handles all types of apps. It also includes 32GB plus a micro SD slot--we added 128GB and it has tons of capacity. It is providing superior performance over our old Ipad. Highly recommended.

A so-so 10 inch tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to start? Pro's it's 10 inches. The screen picture is very nice in my opinion. Sound is alright. It's also has enough memory for my use, which is mainly watching T.V. and movies on the go. The cons. The main con for me is it freezes quite a bit. If your surfing the web and think oh snap I need to do this right quick you better close everything out before you open anything else. Also I know every once in awhile a program will "... stopped working...Wait etc". But never has my UI stopped working. I'm definitely not an expert nor a noob in using a computer or tablet, but this one is as I said before 3 out of 5 stars In my OPINION.

Posted .Thank you for your purchase of the Tab 4 10.1" and we are glad to her that you like the screen and audio. There are several things that can effect freezing on an Android tablet. If there are several apps running at the same time or apps running in the background this can cause a freezing. Also if there are large files on the tablet this can slow them down too. This tablet has a Micro SD card slot that will allow you to move any large files to with a Micro SD card. We recommend using FAT and exFAT cards (up to 128GB not included). Speed and freezing is also directly connected to the "Internet speed" that you have as well. For additional support please call our customer service # @ 877-453-6686.

Christmas present for myself
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the Tab4. Fast, nice colorful display, easy to set up and use. Bought a microSD to increase storage and a cover with a bluetooth keyboard made for this tablet that works great with this. Now I don't need to lug around my laptop.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was bought for my daughter who is disabled. The large size allows for more ease of use. She enjoys the tablet for several hours a day and has had no issues with it to date.

Decent, but missing an important feature
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By the specs alone it's a fairly good tablet that would give the Fire HD a run for it's money. The only drawbacks are lower resolution screen and, the reason why I returned it, no ambient light sensor. I could deal with the 800p screen, but the fact that it won't auto adjust brightness is a deal breaker. At night I keep it at 0, so in any light I can't see much of anything to put in my PIN. Kinda odd that in 2018 they left out that feature (got mine in 2019). So because of that one little slip I've gotta send it back. If you can deal with that then you've actually got a pretty darn good tablet for ~$150.

Very pleased.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Android has a learning curve, but is good---I upgraded the system to Oreo 8.1. If you love music the speakers on theTab 4 are great--not tinny. The cameras are only fair, but my iPhone is my càmera. I will get a service plan just in case. I also will get an SD card to increase storage for photos and music.

Good travel tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first got a Kindle Fire HD 8 and returned it. Too many ads popping up and airline apps aren't available. So far the Lenovo tab4 is just what I need - surfing the net while on business travel and watching in-flight entertainment.
