    No Purpose at All

I did not like this computer at all. The start up time is too slow and the flip feature sucks. It is oversized. I used it for the first time and it frozen. The sound is muffled and the pictures where not clear. I would not recommend this computer. I end up getting the Surface Pro 3. So cheap is not always better.

Really wanted to like it, but...

Bought in-store as a replacement for a Windows 7 laptop that I had used heavily for 5 years. I am not sure if it's issues with Windows 8, the Lenovo brand, or if I just happen to purchase a dud machine. I have really wanted to like this machine. I love the size, the weight, and the versatility. However, I should have returned it a week after I bought it, but kept thinking I just needed to get used to it. Now its too late. The first time I turned it on and set up, the machine locked up on me while looking at Facebook. It regularly locks up or hangs for no good reason. Its very jittery when browsing or using other applications. I am told that it may have a bad motherboard...this is computer this just over a month old. However, I am also not impressed with the Intel I3 processor that it came with. My 5 year old windows 7 laptop with an AMD processor could do more in 15 minutes what it seems the I3 can do all day. I don't think this is a machine for real work. If it worked like it was suppose to, it would probably make a decent lap top for web browsing and maybe writing a letter or email. Spend a little more money for better quality and performance...or spend a little less for something that can do light work sufficiently. I am quite disappointed.

I returned this laptop to buy a similar convertible Lenovo laptop but with i5. Even that turned out to be laggy and extremely stressful touch pad buttons and over sensitive touch pad area. Now stuck with a $600 lamon which I cant do anything about. Stay away from Lenovo and go for a Dell. Size factor is just deceiving and you will really hate the yoga series laptop.

    Great Performance and Perfect Size

First week of ownership. For a travel convertible laptop this is the perfect size. Of course the unit come preloaded with tons of useless apps and programs like any other computer purchase. Just uninstall those programs and limit what autoruns and you will enjoy this/any computer. Touchscreen works nice and smooth. Windows 8 is really a touch application (without a touchscreen you might be frustrated). But this review is for the computer itself. Fast, light weight, the body texture has just the right amount of grip. the screen orientation button on the side is a nice addition. Good support available through Lenovo. Pleased with this purchase so far. Hopefully I get many years of service.

For the price this laptop does exactly what I need it to do. I already own a Macbook Pro so the thought of investing another 1,000 dollars in a Windows laptop did not appeal to me. Good processing speed. Love the compact, and light feel to the laptop. Lenovo is a solid brand!

    Great Little Laptop

I LOVED this laptop. It was great. I only gave it 4 stars because I began experiencing issues with it after updating it to Windows 10. Some issues were that the keyboard began to register a letter more than once when pressed. Another issue being that when pressing two consecutive letters, a letter that I did not press would appear in-between the two letters that I did select. When using the touch-screen function to click the windows button or anything on the task bar, it would not allow me to select anything. Restoring it to a previous restore point did, in fact, fix the issue however, I was unimpressed that something new would glitch like this. Regardless, I'm still a lenovo fan.

A very good compact 2 in 1 with a Hybrid Drive

    Posted .

Love the compact size and weight of this machine. I chose this Lenovo model over the less expensive Yoga 2 11 because of the faster processor (Core i3) and the Hybrid Hard Drive which has an 8G SSD. The specs listed in the product description doesn't seem to emphasize this important detail. This combination will give you a larger hard drive (500G) along with the faster boot up time of an SSD (about 30 -40 seconds). It's a compromise and it's worth the few extra dollars over the standard 500G hard drive. Other thoughts...The camera image quality is poor; it does not work well unless the room is well lit. The build quality of this is very good. The rubberized coating on the laptop gives it a nice sure grip. Windows 8.1. takes a bit getting used to. My recommendation is to install a program that emulates Windows 7 (Smart Menu 8) right away, then eventually learn Windows 8 at your own pace. The colors on the touch screen display are brilliant looking, which is what really sold me on this laptop. The nice thing with the touch screen is, you can pinch and zoom just like in a tablet if you find the font too small or unreadable. The touch screen works well and is responsive. So is the touch pad; not too sensitive or jumpy. Keyboard feels pretty decent to me. Best to try it out in the store to see if you like the feel before buying. Speaker quality is surprisingly good even though both are located on the bottom of the laptop. Battery life looks to be about 5 hours if you set it on Power Save Mode. The native Windows 8.1 email app works well for corporate/enterprise mail but not for Gmail accounts; it stopped syncing gmail after after about 50 emails. It does syncs with your enterprise calender and contacts so that's helpful. It saves you from having to do a remote log in each time you want to enter something in your calendar, contacts or send an email. If you have older programs you want to install on the hard drive that are on CD or DVDs get yourself an external DVD drive so you can install them.

The laptop works pretty good although at times tends to run slow. My daughter uses it for nursing school and it has given her basically a portable device small enough to easily carry around.

Really nice 2 in 1 device

This laptop/tablet/awesomeness is by far one of the best items I have purchased from Best Buy. The processor takes on multiple programs with ease, the battery is pretty good but could be slightly better but for the type of product and price its a fair amount o battery juice. The keyboard took me some time to get used to but now im in love with it. The trackpad is really responsive which is a must have for me. I'm gonna tell you now, I really study up about the products I am going to buy and if i buy them I put them through their toughest challenges. I used to have a HP, Toshiba, and Dell and none of them have been able to meet my expectations. Lenovo your the winner!! (fireworks and confetti in the background) Here is one of the tests I do FIRST on all my laptops. Run Minecraft PC in the background and join multiplayer, then I play two youtube videos in the browser while running a benchmark test in another tab. This 2 in 1 did it with ease. My toshiba, crashed when i opened up the Youtube web page, without even playing anything. If your looking for a mid range priced 2 in 1 with a nice processor and good graphics and can manage to do tasks fast and smoothly here is what you do, scroll up, click add to cart, log in, enter payment info and click confirm. BAM your done congrats you just made a wonderful investment. If you have any questions about this product comment on this review and I would be more than happy to answer them.

    Not worth the price

In sum, it's not worth the price. It has problems with touchscreen, slow internet, short battery life, and charging. I bought my Yoga 14 months ago. A few weeks later I started having first problems with touchscreen (common issue according to Lenovo's support forum). I tried to fix it by reinstalling the system. It helped for some time. In the end I had to send it to Lenovo (my experience with the customer service was not very nice). The problem got solved, but I started having problems with the battery (no charging), wifi, and recently my laptop became unresponsive (probably thanks to the upgrade to Win 10). My warranty expired and now I am stuck with it. My seven years old laptop is faster. I was promised much better performance. Should have returned it. Will not buy anything from Lenovo again.

The 2 in 1 concept is great. The Yoga is versatile and more portable than my laptop. The screen is rather touchy when in tablet mode, which can be annoying, but overall I am enjoying this product.

I needed a new laptop for school. Then I discovered the Yoga. This fits my lifestyle perfectly. Light, portable and bends in different ways. Not to mention that this was on sale for what I would pay for a bigger laptop. I would recommend this product to anyone.

    Great laptop with tablet features

I bought this primarily for laptop use. It's really fast and the screen vibrancy is exceptional. I was a bit concerned since the resolution is only 1366 x 768, but everything looks very sharp and bright, even tiny print. As far as the customer service from Best Buy goes, everyone was very helpful. When I brought the computer home, I noticed the display was dim, even after turning the brightness up all the way. I called Lenovo, and after letting them control my laptop remotely, they couldn't find the problem. I brought it back to Best Buy, and a member of the Geek Squad played with a Windows 8 setting to turn off the auto-dim feature and voila! Everything was set. Had I purchased this through an online service, I would have mistakenly sent the product back. There's something to be said for having the seller available to help with learning curves. As far as the speed of the computer, defrag it right away because it has about 8 percent fragmentation right out of the box (all new computers do). Use defrag c: -w in the command prompt, and you'll see what I mean. Some compare this to different tablets, 2 in 1 computers, and laptops costing twice as much. Of course if you spend twice as much, you'll get a superior product. Let's be reasonable. I like the rubberized cover all around the product; it prevents picking up hairline scratches all over the place and gives a sure grip. All in all, I'm very happy with this product. It's very portable, so I'll bring it with me to work, the coffee shop, or wherever.

Pros: Beautiful screen clarity Great concept in the capabilities of laptop or tablet Stable internet connection Cons Short battery life Bulky as a tablet Flimsy keyboard If I knew then what I know now, I would have gotten the Lenovo, Yoga 2 10.1 tablet with the Windows environment because it has long battery life of at least 18 hours or longer.

I read tons of reviews before I decided on buying this laptop hoping it will meet all my needs, since it's supposed to have great battery life and it's very sleek. But, even since the first day of getting it, the battery becomes a constant issue for me and it does not fully charge to 100%. The battery does not last for more than 2 hours and sometimes less. But, to my understanding of all the reviews I read, it is supposed to last at least 4-5 hours, which isn't the case for me. If you do not want to keep your laptop charged at all times, this laptop is not for you. Having this laptop for less than a year, I already want to get rid of it because of all the frustrations it caused while unplugged.

I returned this laptop after using it for a week or so. The keyboard is very difficult to use because the keys are very soft. It would constantly miss keys that I would press and I would keep getting my passwords wrong due to this. The battery life is long, which was something I liked. However, the computer itself was very slow. It would have trouble loading more than a few tabs on Chrome and lag between programs. It took a very long time to boot up as well. It came with a lot of bloatware, which I didn't care about but someone else might, which is why I'm mentioning it.
