Posted .The Lenovo Yoga 720-12, model number 81B5000KUS ships with a fast configuration. This model has the powerful Dual-Core/Four-Thread Intel Core i5-7200U processor, supported by 8GB DDR4-2133MHz RAM and a 128GB solid state hard drive. This processor has a base speed of 2.5GHz and a Turbo Boost speed of up to 3.1GHz through four threads. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Posted .We are sorry to hear you are having issues with your Yoga 720-12. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right near the power button on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Almost perfect Loud fan noise can be fixed in BIOS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really want to give this laptop a 5 star review. Let me start off by saying that I was looking for laptop that can run Microsoft Office, stream, and browse at the same time. I was not looking for a laptop with a large hard drive. This laptop was perfect. PROS: -Small, thin, light -Keyboard buttons are not squares, they are rounded at the bottom which makes it seem bigger and easier to type with despite it being 13.3 -Hinge is perfect; was not loose and seems to be sturdy. Not sure if I'll use it in tablet mode much though. -Touch screen is superb, very sensitive -Screen Clarity and brightness is really high -Looks professional -On off button is on the side and does not turn off if you press it by accident. This can be good or bad depending on what you put on the right of the laptop, which is where the power button is located. -Has a USB C port -Has a 3.5mm headphone jack CONS -Hard drive space is so small at 128GB but it's listed that way so that's not why I'm deducting a star. Putting this as a CON as most people see this as a CON. -Keyboard does not light up so hard to see in the dark -It only has 1 USB 2.1 port. Why!? At least it has a USB C port though. -Fan is VERY LOUD. BUT! This can be changed. Hold Shift --> Windows Button --> Power Icon (shut down/restart) --> Click on Restart. Once you get the blue screen UEFI menu, you can release holding the SHIFT button. Navigate to Advanced and boot to BIOs. In the BIOs, change from Balanced Mode to Quiet Mode. Quiet Mode is more than enough if you are just using this for Microsoft Office, Streaming, and browsing the internet. I wouldn't use it if you are doing more than that though (web games etc.)

All this power in a computer that weighs just 2.60 lbs and measures just 11.54 x 8.01 x 0.62 thin. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal.

Portable laptop, has serious touchpad issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this device because I was looking for something very portable; yet had enough power and speed for multitasking. My rating is 2 stars only due to a really annoying issue as mentioned below. Pros: - This laptop is highly portable and lightweight. - 8 GB RAM coupled with a Core i5 processor packs enough muscle for multitasking. (PS: I am not a gamer - so if you are looking for performance as related to games, this is not the right review to refer :-)) - The screen size and weight is just right for the laptop mode as well as a tablet mode. Feels great in the tablet mode and the screen is very responsive to touch. Cons: - I have a major issue as of writing this review that whenever I put the laptop to sleep and re-open it, the mouse pointer is nowhere on the screen and the touch pad is completely unresponsive. ONLY a restart solves this issue! I have checked Lenovo support forums where they have instructed to upgrade the drivers etc; but all the mouse drivers are up to date. I am not sure what is a permanent solution to this issue. The only option would be to return this if I do not find the right solution. PS: The laptop upgraded upon initial set up and I diligently followed all instructions for the upgrades, including a touchpad firmware update from Lenovo that was pushed to the device at the time of initial set up!

Very Noisy All The Time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is fine, light and nice looking, but there is always an annoying fan noise. Even if there is no running applications except a web browser with a few tabs. I cannot use it on bed when my wife is sleeping because of the fan noise. And also when I bought it from Seattle Bestbuy, the seller guy said it has a great battery, lasts more than 8-9 hours. It is not true, On battery with just browser, at most it lasts 4-5 hours.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the internal fan running too often. This may be due to out dated BIOS and/or driver files. You can easily up date this software by scanning the device with the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computed. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

Ungodly loud fan noise all the time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Because BB stores have so much ambient noise you don't hear it in the demo, but this laptop has a terrible fan noise all the time. Not just loud but with an added high pitched whine going too. At first I thought it was just my machine, but some research online shows this to be a regular problem with lots of Lenovo yogas (of all models). Being so small it's even more noticeable here though. And when I say all the time, I mean sitting at the desktop with no applications or background tasks yet the fan still kicks in constantly. So if you are someone with ears then you'll do well to avoid this (and probably the other yoga models too)

Put the power switch somewhere else!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as my portable for my new business startup. I couldn't spend a lot and did a lot of research and decided to go with the Yoga 720. After about a week, it would not turn on unless it was plugged in so Best Buy was awesome and exchanged it. The second one has been much better. Boots quickly, touchpad works great for me and the touchscreen is great too. I haven't really had any problems. I mainly use it for e-mail, calendaring, some writing and Powerpoint presentations. Nothing heavy duty and it works fine for all of that. I can't speak to anything heavier use. My one complaint is the location of the power switch. It is on the right side of the main body. If I pick the laptop up with both hands to re-position it, 99% of the time my hand hits the power button and turns the computer off. With the SS drive, it boots back up quickly but it is terribly annoying and the first time I lose work because of this I am going to be really upset with Lenovo. This is a terrible design that should be addressed.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 720-12. The reason for the location of the power button is because this is a 2 in 1 configuration, the screen rotates 360-degrees and can function at any position along that 360-degree arc. The power button must be accessible in whatever position the user places the device in. The right front side was the best choice.

Only issue is with the cursor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop, the only issue I have with it is that the cursor will randomly disappear and won't come back until I've restarted the laptop entirely. It reboots fast but this shouldn't be happening in the first place. All of these complaints about the fan being loud surprise me because that's definitely not been an issue for me. I mainly use this laptop for general browsing the web, writing on google docs, and I have one game (civ 6) installed on it and I've played that once and didn't have any issues or feel like the fan was loud. I'm running a simple scan on the Lenovo website currently to try to troubleshoot the missing cursor problem and I can barely hear the fan in the laptop directly in front of me. I don't know what these people are doing on their laptop to cause the fan to work that hard but for general use this laptop is great.

Perfect 2 in 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop to replace my current 16 inch, that was too big. This is a great size, good looking screen and easy to use. I have the Lenovo pen and it works great with this tablet. It’s just like writing with regular pen. I too had the problem with the touchpad not working between tablet and pc mode but if you push the F6 button it will toggle the touchpad on and off. Since I’ve done this I’ve not had any issues.

No-Good 2-in-1 Wouldn't Recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop with the help of best buy employees. I returned my first one 13 days after I purchased it due to my apps not working and the fan overheating my yoga. I am headed back to best buy to get my third yoga tomorrow. The apps have stopped working and the fan overheats the computer causing it to "die" at 20%. I have called lenovo, but they refuse to replace/service the device. I am a college student and was promised a laptop that would work WITH me, not AGAINST me. Not to mention... the fan is so loud and starts as soon as I power the device on. Will do everything I can to get a new one, because it has been serviced as well as replaced already.

Noisy and poor battery
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Biggest flaw is the battery life that default lasts for about 2 hours. Got to about 4 hours with battery saver but still awful. It is slightly noisy with the fan, but the battery is the worst part. Other than that very portable and performs well.

Will be exchanging it for the 2nd time tomorrow...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The speakers are ridiculous and crackle a TON, off and on, but mostly on. They get progressively worse. If anyone can tell me if there's something I can do to prevent or fix this, it would be appreciated, but I don't think there is. I think it's just a garbage laptop. I've never had so many issues with a laptop, and unfortunately Best Buy has the worst return policy as well. They cut you off at the 14th day instead of the 15th, as if 15th wasn't short enough. This laptop has caused me so much stress and as nice as the employees may be, they insist that even though I tried to return my original laptop on the 15th day, they "can not" refund me the money, and can only give me an exchange. This is the only laptop offered by Best Buy that has all the features I wanted, but there are just way too many issues with it. I was so excited, but then I learned the mouse pad doesn't work a lot of the time (I updated all the drivers and still doesn't work), the speakers crackle and even just completely cut out. It gets really hot even with simple internet browsing. It lags and stalls. So apparently I'm going to have to exchange this piece of garbage every 14 days until maybe the employees get sick of seeing my face and decide they can finally give me the refund.... Never shopping at Best Buy or buying Lenovo again.

Updates make Touchscreen Useless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the store, I loved this computer. Light weight, great screen and terrific deal on a 2in1. When I got it home, whole different story. I want my 11 hours back! Out of the box worked great. Clicked away on screen and went through all the windows updates. Three hours later it was complete but wait, the screen doesn't work anymore. I googled, I called geek squad and they said bring it back and they would give me a new one. Wow, great customer service! Second one home, three hours of updates and boom screen not working again. Googled more and found out that there have been many issues with windows updates not allowing touchscreen to work anymore and lenovo does not have a solution. I could not believe that so started a chat with customer support. The person had me do a few different things and then he had me check for HID touchscreen. When I said it was not there, the person never replied. Seriously. I then called. I was told to return laptop and get a new one and this time do not connect to internet and do updates as there is no solution. So laptop went back and I purchased another brand. Trying to save some of you a lot of time on customer support calls and new laptops. Two times. I did not believe third time was going to be a charm on this issue.

Bluetooth Mouse won't work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a microsoft bluetooth mouse for this laptop and I couldn't get it to work consistently. When it did work it would only last and hour or so. I hadn't started using it full time for work yet so I kind of let it go. 2 months later I decided to dig into the problem and thought I would just start over with a different brand mouse. I bought a Logitech bluetooth mouse and same exact problem. With both, it was hard to even get them to connect. Contacted Lenovo and went through a few software steps to no avail. They then transferred me to a senior tech that informed me that moving forward it would not be covered under warranty. The laptop was just over 90 days old. So I paid the one time fee ($79.99) to fix it. (So much for the 1 year warranty) They transferred me to a tech who trouble shot the same things as the tech before and eventually had me restore the whole windows system. So I paid that money for a tech to tell me to restore my system and gave me a case number and said to call them back if that didn't work. Well, guess what it worked for about an hour after the restore and I'm right back where i started. And yes, a bluetooth speaker worked just fine, just not a mouse. So I'm stuck with a laptop for another 4-5 years without a working mouse. I should have stuck with Samsung.....Never again Lenovo....

DO NOT BUY!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop a month ago and today I had to call customer service because my laptop is not detecting the battery. Now I have to send it back to their repair center for 9 business days if they have the parts to fix it otherwise it could be more time. The fan is very loud and sometimes the keyboard was not responsive when I tried to browse using Google Chrome. This is my first experience with Lenovo laptops and for sure it will be my last. On top of that I have to email them my receipt because they said my warranty expires in October this year and it has not been even a year, for some reason they did not have my warranty up to date. Very disappointing.
