Good computer- but keyboard sucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought this computer- but need to return it. I bought this model because the specs were breed than any other. However- the shift key is small and I can't type normally- I keep hitting the page up instead (why wouldn't the follow abnormal keyboard layout) The track pad is also over sensitive and half the time I can't get it to work. This was with just one night. I also can't figure out how to set up or group things in the start menu- but this may just be a Windows 10 issue.

Posted .With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. With regard to learning your way around Windows 10, you may want to try YouTube.com (just type that address in your browser address window). There are hundreds for free instructional videos there about Windows 10. Just type Windows 10 Introduction in to the YouTube search window. You can watch free videos there that will show you the basics all the way up to tips and tricks videos and they're all free.

Screen issues...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this last week and seemed to be a great buy until screen bleeds are already quiet visible....great laptop with great specs but screen needs some improvement. Luckily not a victim of the black line yet. Really want to keep it but plan on returning it before the two weeks period expires because of the inconsistent display. If I have spent more than a $1000 on a laptop I expect it to last long. Don't get that feeling with this laptop.

Great laptop, but got the black line
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is fantastic. It's fast, quiet once you change the BiOS settings to balanced, and looks professional while being able to play games. The only problem is that I got the black line issue that other reviewers had warned about. The employees at Best Buy told me they hadn't experience anyone having the issue for a while and that Lenovo had resolved the issue, but I ended up getting the line a couple months into use. I even picked the one with the newest manufacturing date and am very disappointed that it had been a problem for other users for over a year and still hadn't been resolved.

Infamous black horizontal line
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer beware, a lot of customers including myself start to see a black line on the top right part of the screen when you flip the screen upside down to turn it into a tablet. This line appears to be a manufacturers defect within the display it self. It is not due to pixel, software, bios but, to be a wire or a trim piece behind the digitizer that falls down with time. Search online for more info.

Posted .This sounds like it is a driver update issue. With regard to the video issues you mention with your device, there may be video driver updates for your specific system. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. You can do this by just typing "restore point" in the search window within Cortana and follow the link to create a restore point. Here is the link:

Great laptop. Not useful as a tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop works great the tablet is useless. It is heavy. The keyboard turns off, but is exposed to damage when you use it as a tablet. If you try to use a stylist in most applications it picks up any part of your palm or fingers which causes a blotch on the screen, or the cursor to shoot accross the screen. No matter which mode you have it in, or protocol you use. Most applications are too small to be usable if you use the full definition. If you cannot see the items on the screen, you cannot use it. One final note. The hinges are very stiff and it feels like you will break it if you flip into tablet mode. Customer support is poor. I cannot understand what they say because of their thick accent . It works as a laptop, and I got it at a good price. However I will recommend looking at other 2 in ones that have the screen flip and turn over the keyboard, or at least some form of protection for the keyboard while in tablet mode.

Posted .For programs that are not compatible with this model's 4K resolution, you will need to readjust the screen resolution 1080p. This is a program issue not the device issue. Most programs currently are or will soon be compatible with 4K resolution. The hinges on this device have been bench tested through 25,000 cycles (8 to 10 years of normal use) without a failure. The stiffness of the hinges makes it possible to position the screen in virtually any position.

Bad screen!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should have done more research before buying this model. Mine has the problem of black line on the top right corner of the screen, just as many other people complained about. Just google "yoga 720 screen defect". I replaced it with a new one at best buy, and the new one has a little scratch at the same spot! Maybe I can live with that, but there are people reporting that the black line problem can develop over time, so I decide to replace it with another model!

From day one till now having trouble with Yoga
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The day after I bought the laptop, I had a blue screen because of the memory defect. I exchanged the laptop. It worked fine for a month, then I've got a black line on the top of the screen. From the third month, few times I got a blue screen with the stop code: FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE. About fifth month, the computer didn't start. FYI, I didn't run any heavy applications. I sent it for a repair, and they replaced the hard drive. However, I still have a blue screen with hardware corrupted page message and BAD_POOL_HEADER stop code. Moreover, every time when I restart the computer, the whole screen glitches and nothing on the screen is recognizable. Whenever it glitches, I put it to sleep and wait for a minute, then, the screen stops glitching. It scares me when it starts glitching while I am working on the school project. I've already lost some valuable work because I had a blue screen and it restarted automatically. I've been using this laptop for about 9 months, but I'm considering buying a new laptop (no Lenovo in my life). I paid $1450 for this Lenovo Yoga 720 UHD. It is a very expensive trash. All the shining specs are useless because of the hardware defects.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga 720-15. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Stay away from ALL LENOVO PRODUCTS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a LENOVO Yoga 2 since its release and it has been a nightmare. Good luck getting their customer service to help you! My computer can't handle anything. It restarts constantly, and I mean since day 1 of opening the box. I tried to get help but no one seemed to care once the product was purchased. I just packed it away because it's trash. I gave a good faith effort in trying to is it for work but if you need something reliable, just go MacBook Pro. Lenovo took me for a ride and I've wasted a lot of money on this poor product.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your Yoga 720-15. The restarting issue you mention sounds like a conflict with either a program that has been installed or an automatic Windows 10 update that did not complete correctly. The Yoga 720-15 is equipped with the OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files.

Do not buy this laptop (4k display)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is not worth buying until Lenovo makes sure there will no longer be any issues with the displays. They inaccurately claimed the display issues were no longer an issue if manufactured after a certain date. What happens you ask? A black horizontal line starts to fall from the top of the display. Mine is only falling on the right hand side but still draws my attention constantly - especially every time I go to close a window. If you buy this and get stuck with the malfunction happening outside your return window it takes 1-3 weeks for a repair. You can take it to the Geek squad for repair but they probably can't actually fix it for you there (despite Lenovo support indicating they can.) They will likely have to send it out to their service center. Do not get for school work or anything else unless you can afford to be without a laptop for 1-3 weeks. Additionally, the touch screen randomly stops working. I bought the Bamboo Ink Pen to use with it and some think the issue might be related. Best Buy will recommend you buy this $70 pen but I promise you will regret it if your laptop is anything like the 2 I have had so far. At this point, I will likely stop taking my business to Best Buy and am doubtful I will ever buy another Lenovo product. Please be careful and don't be lured in by what appears to be an excellent price point!

Do not purchase this item.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this computer in February 2018 and a month after owning it, I had to send it in because the touch screen stopped working. Went to pick up the item from Best Buy only to find the issue had not been fixed and had to wait again. After getting my laptop back, the touchscreen stopped working again. The camera also did not work and a black line appeared across the top of my screen, as mentioned in other reviews. Each time, I call tech support and I'm directed to send my laptop back in for repair which is a major inconvenience. I will never purchase a Lenovo product again.

Great machine but........
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yoga 720 4k a screen issue. Small Black bar on top of screen eventually appears. Google yoga 720 screen issue and check reddit and lenovo forum . Lenovo won't acknowledge nor Address the issue. It's too bad because I love the 720 but returning it before my $1500 is wasted. Make zero sense to buy a notebook with a problematic display that lenovo refuses to Address. Sure they will fix it but it happens over and over after each repair,l. Research yourself and you'll see. I guess if you can live with the black bar then go for it, like I said I loved it other than the issue bound to happen to them all.

ALMOST LOVED IT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am soo irritated because I actually fell in love with this laptop, but then got the black line across the top of the screen as others have mentioned. Thank goodness it developed before my 15 days, but I had just taken back an Asus 2 weeks ago because it was SLOW. Soo now I'm going on a month of setting up computers/taking them back and I just want to get back to normal work! Sadly I am taking this back, and getting a different brand entirely because although this thing is nice & fast, I cannot live with the black bar across the top for the amount of money being spent. Totally disappointed & mad about the loss of time going into setting up and removing TWO computers now!

Update from Owner: Avoid this laptop at all cost!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Lenovo brand for aesthetic and build quality. However, this laptop put a shame in it. After noticing the laptop constantly running hot and the fan kicks in all the time, I decided to take it apart even though I could void my warranty. Thermal paste is terrible between CPU and GPU (Geforce card) against the heatsink. Plot twist, Lenovo did not even put thermal paste on Intel Graphics 630, so there is a gap in between, no contact made to the heatsink whatsoever. If you are computer geek, you have to repaste it yourself, but required some works. For general people, this laptop is no cool to have. In the nut shell, buy another model of laptop instead of this Lenovo yoga 720.

Posted .This is a high performance system with its Quad-Core, Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor,16GB of RAM and a 512GB solid state hard drive. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device, if you keep the venting ports clear.

Awesome machine, poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this machine a Sunday and had to return it on Monday because of a dead streak of pixels at the top of the screen. Hoping it was just a fluke, I swapped it out for the same exact model. Two days later, this one is doing the same thing. The hardware is awesome. It's a blazingly fast machine and works splendidly for development work. The display is beautiful and easy to read. The build quality feels lackluster at best though.
