Small crack in screen, Best Buy would not return

I noticed a small crack in my screen about a week after I purchased this laptop. Best Buy would not let me exchange the laptop. Since the the crack has been slowly expanding across the screen. This is a brand new laptop and I will need to spend $400 to repair the screen for it to be usable for school.

Danger! Before you buy Lenovo laptop, check their battery recall on their laptop. This is my second Yoga model laptop and this one (bought 5/28/19) has sign of battery swelling already. The first one has deformed the keyboard and it's barely 2 year old machine. I read from several forums that Lenovo is not taking this battery issue matter seriously. This will be the last Lenovo laptop I will be buying.

I bought this for I wanted a 2-in-1, but within a month I was starting to have the Wifi connection issues. I used Lenovo's Utility to update the driver. I uninstalled the driver. Installing driver from Lenovo's website did not correct the issue. I reinstalled Windows and the the default driver had the same issue. If you google Yoga 730 Wifi issues, its a common problem. I returned it yesterday and went with an HP.

We are sorry to hear that you had issues with WiFi connectivity with your Lenovo Yoga 730-13. Since you point out it took a month for this issue to develop, be sure you have the correct version of Windows 10 on the computer. There is a new version of Windows 10 and BIOS files and drivers for WiFi connectivity that correct this issue. You can easily update to the latest version of Windows 10, then update to the proper BIOS files and drivers, including those controlling WiFi, by simply scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. Lenovo

"I'm writing this review to express my heartfelt appreciation for my trusty laptop, which has served me exceptionally well for the past 5 years. Through countless late-night study sessions, endless work projects, and endless streaming marathons, this laptop has been my constant companion. Its durability and performance have been impressive, to say the least. Despite being subjected to extensive use, it still boots up quickly, runs smoothly, and shows no signs of slowing down. The battery life has been remarkable, and the display remains vibrant and clear.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga 730-13. It sounds like there may be incompatible software installed on your computer. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. Since you can no longer boot the device, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. For 2018, Lenovo retained its place for a second year as the best laptop vendor:

Absolutely horrible. Had glitches from the start, supposedly repaired and then began again. Unfortunately screen cracked after and so went against extended warranty instead of manufacturer warranty even though problem was there prior. Paid for 3 year warranty, but after 6 months had to be replaced so Best Buy considers warranty fulfilled so the remaining 2 1/2 years of paid warranty are no longer

This is the second Lenovo laptop I have purchased. The hinges on the laptops are a known issue and Lenovo will not acknowledge there is a defect. The screen will crack where the hinge is and the crack will work its way throughout the screen, and then the touch screen becomes useless. This happened on both the Lenovo Yoga laptops I bought. Go online and read the issues.

I thought that this was going to be the laptop for me but I was wrong! After 2 weeks the battery started going bad even though it was still connected to the power cord. I also noticed that the display model was doing the exact same thing so another return to Best Buy! I was also disappointed in the lack of knowledge from the sales professional about this particular brand.

What you are describing is Battery Saver Software within Windows 10. If you leave a Windows 10 computer plugged in when the battery is fully charged, the battery indicator on the Windows 10 desktop screen will show "Plugged In, Not Charging". This Battery Saver Software allows the battery to drain even though the device is plugged in. This is to help extend the battery life. Once the battery drains to a specific level (approximately 90% charge), the device will start trickle charging the battery. This is a normal function within Windows 10. We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the touchpad on your Lenovo Yoga 730-13. First, be sure the touchpad is turned on. The HotKey in the F6 position on your keyboard toggles the touchpad on/off. I ran the Intel diagnostics on their website and now it's giving me the "Getting Windows Ready, Don't turn off your computer" screen for several hours when I restart the computer.
