Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga 730-13. It is possible that resetting your computer back to original factory settings may fix the issue. Since you can no longer boot the computer, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Posted .Windows 10 should not crash. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Best College Computer For The Money.....On Sale!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice computer. I bought for my daughter, Sophomore at Quinnipiac. Very fast boot up. She will use it a lot in tablet mode taking notes. (Biology Major) She will also use it a lot in tent and laptop mode for watching netflix and hulu. One thing you have to do though is to de-select the adaptive brightness control. This measures the ambient light via your webcam to adjust your screen setting automatically. You don't want this. It dims the display automatically. Turn it off. It is so much brighter and nice, then you can adjust yourself for battery savings and such. Another thing to change is your dolby atmos settings. It comes set up for "music" and this is awful for speaker output. Change that to "dynamic" or choose your own settings like I did with the adjustable bars for treble, midrange, and bass. The sound coming out of the speakers after this is "another world!" They are already down-firing speakers and the default setting at "music" is pathetic. Remove Mcafee and use your own or just use defender like she is doing. Most colleges have anti-virus and firewall in their intranet anyway. Oh, a big money savings is that you don't have to waste money on buying an "active pen 2" for $70 bucks. The "active pen 1" works fine for $25 bucks at walmart, like I did. There are about 2500 pressure settings with active pen 1. Unless you need more, 4500 or so, then get the active pen 2. But unlike what people say about compatibility, the active pen 1 works great & fine. She uses it with all windows ink programs. The battery life is so-so. Don't have any to compare it to other than older laptops. Tweaking and shutting off stuff will improve as usual. Only one USB-A 3.1 for legacy support. It does works backwards with her older printer. The 2 USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports are great! They both will charge the computer. They are both on left side of laptop. In the task tray down below you will have a box that you can bring up to shut off certain things for battery savings and you can also select "rapid charge" when your charger is connected to either USB-C ports. This charges the laptop "super" fast as we have witnessed! Great for a "top off" before class or a disconnect of your charger brick for some time. Be aware, the charger brick is pretty healthy in size! It is a 65watt charger at 120volts, of course. Keep in your backpack in a separate pouch if needed? If you have a full 8 hours of classes I would suggest bringing the charger brick with you just in case. She likes to look at screen in full brightness capacity and if you do so you will need to give it a little "rapid charge" at some point in an 8 hour school day. If only going for a 3-4 hour jaunt, you are probably good to go. Last but not least, I bought her a Tomtoc laptop sleeve on Amazon. It is the 13" version that fits the Dell XPS. Well it fits very nicely. The nice light grey exterior and the very "protective" interior suits the 730 Yoga 13" nicely. Doesn't slop around and front zipper pocket can hold your "active pen 1" and earbuds, and thumb drives. Laptop sleeve was $19.99. I got this Lenovo Yoga 730-13 laptop for $599 after sales and college deal in mid August, 2018. I think it was the best deal on the market at that time for what my daughter needed, and Dad!

The Yoga 730-13 ships with a 4CELL 48WH, Lithium Polymer battery, with a battery life of up to 10.5 hours, depending on the work that the device is performing. Very good laptop for students.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially bought this laptop for school use and do thoroughly enjoy it. Screen resolution is very good and has a fairly good battery life when in energy saver. The keyboard is very nice and has a convenient backlight as well. The touchscreen works very well, as well as the doodle mode, though I recommend the smart pen. The computer is very lightweight and flips in and out of tablet mode very well, though I cant help noticing it feels somewhat fragile while doing this. Tablet mode is fun, though I haven't found many uses for it outside of watching movies and videos. The on-screen keyboard works well enough, though it seems to like to pop onscreen too often. The fingerprint sensor is quite sensitive; I can only seem to get it to recognize my fingerprint one in every three attempts or so. I'd also like to point out the lack of major ports; no HDMI and only 1 USB. The 2 USB-C ports, however, make charging especially easy if you have other USB-C devices. It is exceptionally quick, thanks to the SSD hard drive. I don't recommend using this laptop for gaming, however, I didn't get it for gaming anyways. All things considered, I really like this laptop and think it would be especially great for highschool and college students.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 730-13. This model has the latest in video output in the form of a Thunderbolt port for video out. If you need to connect a HDMI monitor, you can use a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter to do so. With regard to limited ports, this is a 13.3" ultra-portable system. The size and weight restrictions of this configuration limit the availability of space for all but the minimum number of ports.

Almost Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ultimately returned this computer, but I still give it a 3 because if it hadn't been for a few problems I would have kept it for the price. This computer is very well priced considering the specs and form factor. As you may see in other reviews it doesn't come without its flaws. After a few days the wifi started to get spotty, I tried updating the drivers which helped for a few days. The one I had came with the realtek wifi card, some of the 730s come with an intel instead. I'm sure that one probably doesn't have this problem. The main problem, which I was a little nervous would happen to me was a decent amount of people reviewed that after a few weeks to a few months the screen would begin to flicker. What is believed to be the problem, at least with some, is the monitor's cable gets in a bind, probably due to switching between tablet and laptop mode. As I was resetting the laptop to return, the screen started an almost unnoticeable flicker, which I suspect would have gotten worse. I was certain I made the right decision to return. That said if you get the intel wifi card, and are lucky enough not to have a problem with the screen, this computer is nicely spec'd for the price.

A "FIXER-UPPER" / Unfit for average consumer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is undoubtedly a pleasant laptop, both visually and functionally: - It's the perfect size and very light-weight/portable. - The aluminum body is a really nice touch, very appealing. - The keyboard is very pleasurable to type! - The touchpad is without a doubt the BEST/most impressive I've used of any laptop. Really, really works well when you forget your BT mouse! On to the perils and pitfalls: - The built-in Realtek wifi adapter keeps dropping signal when on battery power. This is super annoying and definitely a defect. I saw at least one other review post this problem, and I can confirm it. Rather than returning it, because this problem alone made it seriously unusable, I instead purchased an Intel 9260 and replaced it myself. It was a simple procedure to do myself, and now, not only does the wifi never drop-- it's also MUCH MUCH faster than the Realtek wireless adapter that shipped inside the unit. - From out of the box, there was a terrible keyboard lag. I tried all kinds of registry hacks and windows settings to fix, but in the end, I had to do a Windows Reset in order to fix the issue. - Out of the box the audio is very low/distant. I found this to be the default setting in Dolby Atmos, set to the "music" presets. It honestly made me think the speakers were defective. Luckily this is addressed by simply setting the profile to "dynamic" and leaving it there. Overall, great laptop and a fixer-upper from out of the box. But for the price-point I was able to secure from BestBuy, it's working great now and I'm very happy with the laptop! I am saying "no" to recommending to a friend, because you should not have to change the wireless card when the computer is brand new out of the box, nor have to do a Windows reset. I have to say this computer is unfit for the average user, because of these problems out of the box.

Nonstop Screen Flickering
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually don't write reviews for products, but the awfulness that is this laptop brought it upon me to save others from going down the same path that I did. I really wanted to love this laptop. The features are great, but I will never be buying another Lenovo product again. I purchased this laptop for school to take notes. The second day of class, the screen occasionally started to flicker. At first, I thought it was a software problem. I looked at countless forums and Lenovo help posts. I updated my drivers for my BIOS, chipset, you name it. I even changed around values in regedit. Nothing worked. Eventually, I figured out that when I applied pressure to the screen, the flickering would stop. There it was, a hardware issue. The flicker became increasingly worse to the point where if I didn't apply pressure to the screen, it would become completely black. I had enough of the flickering, so I went back to Best Buy where I bought the laptop and was luckily able to swap it out. They said that they've never seen it before and it was "probably just a one in a million factory defect." So I got the same exact laptop and was overjoyed that I was finally able to utilize all of the great features without the annoying flicker. Today, the dreaded flicker showed its ugly face once again on my brand new laptop. I have never dropped or done any harm to this laptop whatsoever. It's ridiculous that a large company like Lenovo puts out laptops with issues like this. I will be returning to Best Buy to return this piece of garbage and to buy a different brand of 2-in-1 laptop. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Excellent Laptop with a Minor Catch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely fantastic laptop, with a crystal clear display, great trackpad and keyboard. Screen is plenty bright (opposed to the Yoga 700-14isk which I previously had). Battery life is a little less than what I would expect, but can't complain as I get a solid 6 hours, plus with the "fast charging" even if you run out of juice, it can re-charge quickly. The one catch you might be wondering... is the fact that the WiFi chip is garbage. Right out of the box it was having connectivity issues, and would drop the WiFi connection every 15min or so. The solution is to purchase a Intel 8265 WiFi chip and swap them out. This replacement is super easy and you can find tutorials online (make sure to purchase a torx screwdriver kit, I bought one on Amazon for a few bucks and comes in handy for repairing electronics like this). Filing a warranty claim with Lenovo won't solve your problem, because they will simply swap the the Realtek WiFi chip with an identical model (I called and asked). This specific WiFi chip is garbage, and the only solution is to switch it out for the Intel chip. In my opinion, this laptop is a beyond excellent value and it's worth purchasing this laptop even though you have to do the WiFi chip swap. This is the perfect laptop for students, or professionals who need a solid reliable laptop for everyday use.
