If your screen is flickering, try this: · Click on the little caret (upward arrowhead) in the task bar (bottom right) · Click Intel HD Graphics · Click Graphics Properties Once the graphics control panel comes up: · Click Power · Click on Battery (left side of screen) · Under Panel Self Refresh, click Disable If this fixes your problem, great! Remember these steps because it will happen again after future updates as this Panel Self Refresh is the default.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 730-13. Another fix for a screen flicker issue caused by Windows 10 updates is to use Lenovo Utilities software installed on the device. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. lenovo

    Screen Flickering !!!

Hey everyone I am a college student. I just bought this laptop 31 days ago and last night the screen started to flicker. I have not once dropped or been rough with this laptop. I am highly upset about this because I am a student and I don’t have much money to be spending on another laptop. I was hoping to use this for the rest of my college years, but it does seems like that will not happen. When I first bought this laptop I did not review the ratings which was a bad idea. Lesson Learned ! I don’t recommend anyone to buy this laptop because if you look at the other reviews you will see other people having this SAME issue as well. Black lines keeps coming across my screen. This laptop is trash considering the screen problems. This laptop is OVERPRICED for it to have a major problem like this within weeks of purchase. This was my first Lenovo purchase and my last. ( also if you look deeper in the comments.... once you update the laptop the issue still occurs )

    Madly flickering screen!

As I now see in many, many other reviews on line, this Lenovo Yoga 730 laptop, which I just started using last week, has a KNOWN quality control issue with the wire connecting the motherboard to the monitor. Apparently Lenovo cut corners/costs in manufacturing, using a low quality and/or badly situated/installed wire. The screen started flickering a day or so after I started using it, and has been flickering off and on (sometimes going to total blackout) ever since. Geek Squad knows about it, and told me they will send it out for repair, taking 2-3 weeks. Lenovo customer service also will repair it (you send it via FedEx), they say, taking 1-2 weeks approximately (who knows how long, really). As with most laptop users, I am not able to be without my laptop for even a few days, let alone weeks. It is incredible to me that Lenovo and Best Buy continue to sell this faulty product, without a recall or offer to replace! That is just bad business!! We have long bought all our laptops (and most other electronics) from Best Buy, and I had a Lenovo Yoga previously, but now do not want to buy from either company again! I am stuck, about to buy another laptop (maybe from Dell or HP directly), and do not know whether to even go to the trouble of sending this one in for repairs. It is poor quality control, and terrible customer service. Not a happy customer, and Lenovo (and maybe Best Buy) has lost my business...

I initially went to Best Buy to get a Dell 13 inch 2-in-1. The salesperson had me look at the Lenova Yoga as it was on sale for a great price of $629. Set up was very easy . I love all the features, 2-in-1, backlit keyboard, fast processor, etc. I did all the updates out of the box and have not experienced any screen flickering as many of the reviews below say. This laptop is so lightweight and easy to carry around. I love it! At 629 over President's Day Weekend its a great buy! Don't hesitate

Screen started flickering 1 Year and 1 week after purchase. Lenovo said they would not help because it was out of warranty. This was after an extensive wait on line with them. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. This is a known problem and they will do nothing to make their inferior product right. Complete waste of money. Do not trust this company. Buyer beware

Had this laptop for 3 years now and I wish I would have bought a different brand. I had to send it in for service the first year bc the screen kept flickering/freezing up. That was fixed under warranty. Now the hinge is broken ( very common on these) and it’s out of warranty. I am very careful with my products so this thing was never dropped it’s just a poor design that relies on glue..,,stupid. Buy an HP or something else and avoid the Lenovo nonsense.

We got one of these for my wife to use since she has gone back to college. This computer is fast and works great. I bought a new computer last year and I'm going to get one of these and sell my other one. It is a different brand and is really slow compared to the Lenovo. For people with the monitor problem and finger print problem, make sure you do ALL updates and not just the windows updates. The system updates will take care of those problems.

All of my previous mobile purchases have been Microsoft Surface products such as the Pro 3-6, Laptop and Go. I used them with the Surface docking station for desktop usage. I was in the mood for a change because I wanted a hybrid that is truly a laptop so I can work without the screen flopping. I often type in my recliner leaning back so the weight of a Surface screen causes it to flop. After doing some research on the Yoga line, I thought I would check it out. I went to BB to see this model. Incidentally, checking out any video type device on a sales floor can be futile since the bright lights and large open and noisy areas make it difficult to appreciate the true experience. I liked what I saw there, and even better, it was on sale! Here's what like Beautifully crafted Aluminum Body with slim side bezels. No trace of pixels at FHD. Color saturation is natural and gives great contrast at normal levels. Keyboard has nice travel without feely clunky with Lenovo curve at the bottom of each key. 3 stage backlit keyboard Big and wide glass touchpad with MS Precision Drivers Windows Hello fingerprint reader. Very accurate and works well for me Battery life is good -getting a full day out of it JBL speakers bottom firing are okay but could be louder 2 lightning USB C Ports (both charge) USB A(3.1) Quiet performance (no fan sounds though it 2) and stays cool No bloat ware except for Lenovo Utilities This is a beautiful laptop convertible and I heartily recommend this purchase. It can be used with the Lenovo pens or Wacomm.

    Systematically defective LCDs

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought a "new" Lenovo Yoga 730 at Best Buy. After one month of extremely light use, the screen flickered, flickered, flickered,...and died. Following Lenovo service guidelines and several attempted software fixes (including wiping my drive -- and ALL of my files and software) Lenovo accepted it for warranty repair. According to Lenovo's online maintenance tracker, they took 8 minutes to replace my LCD. Seemed pretty quick to me, so I curiously watched a few videos about how to change a Yoga LCD. Instead of just replacing the whole lid, they have to pry out the paper-thin screen. That's when I remembered the little dents on the bottom of the LCD of my new Lenovo -- they were pry marks from having the LCD replaced before! Since my computer had been working fine initially, I hadn't given them any thought. Yup, fool me for having an iota of confidence in Lenovo or Best Buy. A little research shows that Lenovos have a long history of LCD problems. Screen flickering is an extremely common failure mode for Yogas. No wonder they "repaired" it so quickly, they do it so much! So my "new" Yoga is either a factory lemon or a refurbished unit. Either way, now the LCD has failed again. That's what you're getting with Lenovo. TRASH! And Best Buy is selling this junk as "new". Beware.

Where do i even begin. Just a couple weeks ago i left a one star review because of the classic ‘screen flickering’ that unfortunately so many others are experiencing too. Today, my laptop just turned off and gave the “black screen of death” WHILE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A 3 PAGE ESSAY THAT IS DUE IN 2 DAYS. It will not turn on/charge and theres nothing i can do unless i turn it over for someone else to fix. MIND YOU this laptop is brand new out of the box 3 months old. Since my last review, i have noticed increasing complaints on this laptop and a less star review. In justification i believe this laptop doesnt even earn 3 stars overall. Although some claim to have no issues, your still taking a gamble with buying this product whether it be smooth sailing or immiate chaos I will be taking my laptop in tomorrow, and see how much it will cost, as well as the time estimation. I will report my findings tomorrow, but from what im seeing on these reviews, it is a long process. If i can get this laptop fixed, i plan to immediately sell it, and never purchase a lenovo product again...

We are sorry to hear that you can not boot your Lenovo Yoga 730-13. Since the device was working, be sure any software you have installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. If you can not boot the device at this time, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. lenovo

I've owned this laptop for going on four years now so I'd like to think I'm pretty familiar with its quirks. I'm an engineering student, so I have used this thing for everything from just writing notes and surfing the web, to coding MATLAB and editing videos on Davinci Resolve. The processing power is pretty good. I do, however, agree with the major points of these other reviews. I've always had more issues connecting to the internet than anyone else I know. I am now well versed in troubleshooting my connection. If you use an ethernet, of course, there is rarely an issue. I just replaced the battery on my laptop, but I really should have done it around year 3 instead. My main issue is that the bottom left portion of my screen is popping out of the frame. Even when I first bought it, the plastic piece on the bottom of the frame popped off pretty quickly. By that point, the screen looked like it was still attached so I didn't really worry about it. The plastic piece has been sitting in my bookbag for four years. During online classes, due to COVID, I didn't really need to move the laptop around, but now that I've started back with in-person, I've noticed the lack of stability from that corner every time I tried to fold it. It looks like the screen is trying to disconnect from the frame. This is probably not the best solution, but I literally just threw some duct tape over that corner to help with stability and it has been working fine.

Screen flickering is the manufacturing defect

    Posted .

I purchased this laptop for my son (who is starting college from tomorrow) on Best Buy website and picked up on Aug 1st 2018. It worked fine until 2 weeks and then started the screen flickering issue from third week onwards when it went out of return period. The screen flickering issue is so bad that it's almost unusable for my son. I first looked at the option of returning but out of luck since Best Buy has only 14 days return window (which is very bad in comparison with it's competitors). Then I looked at other reviews on Best Buy site for this model. Many buyers have complained about this screen flickering issue, that means, it's the real manufacturing defect that Lenovo and Best Buy should own and help buyers in getting either refund or a new replacement laptop without any issues. I also tried calling Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 (after reading other reviews here) and literally waited for 2 hours on phone line. No one came on line to talk to me after waiting for so long. That tells me that Lenovo Tech Support is totally useless or good for nothing. So I want Lenovo to own up this manufacturing defect and address the issue immediately. I am going to file a complaint on BBB as well.

I had to go spend 200 on a google laptop just so that I can type my work without the screen flickering and freezing and at times turning black all together. The Lenovo Yoga 730-13 uses the latest 5G 802.11AC frequency WiFi. If you are having connectivity issues and you are using an older b/g/n frequency router, the 802.11AC frequency WiFi is backward compatible to the older frequencies, but be sure that your router has the latest firmware updates available from the router manufacturer's web site. Second, be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer and that all of the BIOS files and drivers are all up to date. You can easily do this by scanning the device with the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computer. Within two months of buying the laptop, the screen began to flicker. By the end of the third month it was unusable. When I started to look into this it became clear it's a widespread issue with the laptop. DO NOT BUY THIS. I called Lenovo customer service as the product is still under warranty. After multiple calls with them, I've been promised they would send me a shipping label to return my computer 3 separate times! I've still never received a shipping label to return this product. While you should not purchase this product because it has a well known defect, you should also never purchase a Lenovo product as their customer service is atrocious at best. DON'T FALL FOR THE TRAP. BUY LITERALLY ANY OTHER LAPTOP FROM ANY OTHER COMPANY. Additionally, it's terrible Best Buy still sells this product.

I am a digital artist, writer and a very light PC gamer. I bought this just a month after it came out and hopped that any issues I ran into would be fixed with updates as the company got feedback from the buyers. Over a year later and negative $1000 (that definitely could have gone to something better), this is probably the worst purchase I have made from BestBuy and as an electronic. Here are some things I hate about this laptop. - the sharp edges are incredibly uncomfortable to rest your wrists on - the speakers are awful - has an overheating problem - fans can get pretty loud - has to remained plugged in in order to get the most use out of it (a full charge lasts 3 hours and that's just running a browser with 3-4 tabs open and Autodesk Sketchbook at 65% brightness) - this laptop was boasted about having a decent gaming setup with NVIDIA GTX. I have only 1 game downloaded to this thing and it has proven to be sluggish and has difficulty processing the gameplay. I wouldn't spend your money on it. I should have kept the HP I had tried out first. Only good things are the display and touch capabilities. Really dissatisfied with it as a whole.
