Would not recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1 star because this laptop only lasted me 1 year. Exactly 1 month after the 1 year manufacturer warranty expired, the screen stopped working. It would flicker non-stop then go dark on me, rendering this laptop completely useless. I originally bought this laptop to use at-home to pay bills, write to do lists, hobbies, etc and it seem like it would be a good choice for that. I probably used this laptop at most once a week? The screen stopped functioning after 1 year. It was almost half the cost of the laptop to send it in to be fixed through the manufacturing. I tried taking it to a local shop and they said something about the display ribbon was not mounted properly and they couldn't fix it either. Never purchasing a Lenovo product again.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your screen on your Lenovo Yoga 730-13. This issue may be caused by a recent Windows 10 update that requires an additional update to both the BIOS and the video drivers on the device. You can easily do this yourself. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

everything looks ok, but poor wifi connectivity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought lenovo yoga 730 13 inch for my son's birthday on July 2019. So far everything looks OK, but this laptop computer keeps constantly losing wifi connection. No other laptop computers in my house have such a problem. My son is very frustrated with using it. I searched any solution for this problem online and many users with this product have same issue.

Beware of Lenovo BIOS Whitelist
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought a Lenovo thinkpad yoga s3.Need arised to upgrade the wan card but then came to know Lenovo have a bios whitelist with some old cards only that will only be allowed others won’t even show up .Then problem occurred with the battery in which it recognize its own factory fixed battery as non genuine.CS asked to update bios, it won’t update unless in battery above some percent ,says it is non genuine and won’t charge any non genuine battery, all help failed. Then I changed battery and updated with its charge, then again same thing happened and won’t charge .bios is totally locked up and full of bugs. Spend some money and purchase a system that doesn’t have a whitelist on components or you will be having trouble with battery, wan or some other components and cost more money down the road ahead. For me all things happened just after factory warranty expired.Check for Lenovo battery not detected/not genuine on google and 1000’s of result will pop up of all angry customers.

Loud Fan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this computer was great until a few months ago when I started to notice the fan was getting louder. It used to be just when the battery got low, but now it's anytime the computer is on. It is SO LOUD. The fan is terrible. It's distracting in class to me and my classmates. I tried looking up fixes but I don't want to mess up my computer.

Very Slow

Posted .This is a fast system with its Core I-5-8250U processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid state hard drive. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Worst Laptop Ever!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Three weeks after I purchased this laptop at Best Buy, the monitor stopped working. I called Lenovo and they had it sent to their repair facility for repair. Three months later, half of my keyboard keys stopped working. I requested a new laptop, but Lenovo refused and completed another repair. Unfortunately, 3.5 months later the keyboard keys are once again no longer working. I called Lenovo Support again on 4/19/18 and was told someone would call me back within 3 business days. As of 4/26, no callback. I called Lenovo Support again today and they said there is nothing they can do, I simply have to keep waiting for a call back from their Escalation dept. Meanwhile, this laptop is less than 9 months old and doesn't work. I'm very disappointed in this product and highly dissatisfied in the lack of responsiveness from Lenovo. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT BUYING THIS LAPTOP!!!

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga 730-13. From the description of the issues you are having, the problem may be software-based. Restoring the computer back to original factory settings may correct the problems you are having. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. For 2018, Lenovo retained its place for a second year as the best laptop vendor:

Screen flicker

Terrible Screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop a month ago. Within two weeks the screen had cracked, which affected the touch screen too. I hadn’t damaged it, the screen literally just broke while it was in my car while in the original box. So I took it in to repair it. Best Buy wanted to charge me around 400$ to repair it. So I found another place to fix it. But the part itself cost 200$. So after this place fixed the computer, they tell me that this laptop has the most thin, fragile screen that they have ever seen on a computer. They had also had several more people come in with the exact same screen. To take off the screen, they ended up shattering it into pieces because it was so fragile. Basically, don’t buy this laptop, because your screen WILL break. And you’ll have to pay half the cost of the laptop to fix it.

Stay away - screen flicker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this product in August 2018 for my daughter to take to college. At first, she thought it was great for her needs. By October, she started experiencing a screen flicker with lines running across her screen and screen freezing up. She took it to get repaired under warranty via Geek Squad. They replaced a connector. She was without her computer for 3 weeks. In April, she had the exact same problem but couldn't afford to be without her computer for 3 weeks as she was entering finals. She made it through finals but was worried that it would be unusable. I just sent it in again. I asked Lenovo if they will give us an extended warranty given the problems that we are having and the fact that our warranty is up in August. They said that they wouldn't. Lenovo does not stand behind their products. STAY AWAY

Bad quality, screen glitches
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for college due to the fact that it was cheap and had nice features. About 3 weeks later, the screen started glitching with black lines running across the screen. This would occur for up to 2 minuets at a time forcing me to pause my work. After about a week of this, I thought I just had a lemon and took it back to get it swapped for a new one. Let’s just say many Lenovo Yoga laptops are lemons because the second laptop did the same glitching. Actually, this one had issues with the whole screen blacking out! I then returned it again and payed a little extra for a different brand of laptop that works perfectly!

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started grad school in January and bought this laptop for school in December. I have had major issues with it since I started using it. It locks up and at times a restart helps but today it won't even let me log in. This is super frustrating as their help desk is only open during the hours that I work. It is unacceptable to have issues like this with a brand new machine so I'm writing this review out of anger really. I ignored the reviews about the flickering screen and this seems to be an entirely different issue. Full time work plus grad school=very little time to call help desk. Why do laptops not work seamlessly in this day and age like smart phones? Super disappointed.

Terrible WI-FI
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I talked to best buy reps for hours about what good laptops were for all of my general uses of being a college student. I was at the time very excited for my purchase of the yoga but since have had terrible experiences. I had to return the original laptop that I had purchased due to WI-FI issues and was told is was just that one product and that the model was amazing. I returned it and received a brand new model and it still does the same thing! Terrible experience and questioning my loyalty and trust to best buy.

One Major Flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for about 18 month. Works great and not a lot of bloatware. Great machine imo. HOWEVER, these Yoga laptops have one major issue which seems to be consistent with many Lenovo touchscreens. The Touch screen stops working with your finger. It still works with the Lenovo pen but that's about it. Apparently it's a BIOS/Driver issue and Lenovo refuses to address this issue. if you're going to buy this laptop with the intention of using the touch screen, i would recommend looking this issue up. You'll see this same issue go back all the way to 2016
