Problems with screen breakage

Read the Lenovo Community Blog and Forum before you buy. You will notice many, many people have had this problem. I posted to Lenovo the first of December and have yet to hear anything from them on this problem. The computer can still be used but the touch screen part is gone and even the Lenovo Pen that cost extra doesn't work because of the cracked screen. Lenovo wants to put out that their hinges were put to a test that "The Yoga 730-13 ships with hinges that have been bench tested through 25,000 cycles ( the equivalent of 8 to 10 years of normal use) without a failure". Well, I disagree especially with all the complaints on the Lenovo Community Blog and Forum. DO NOT BUY.

I love the screen other than the large black bar at the bottom. USB C charging and Thunderbolt 3 is very nice in this price range as well. Overall it is a snappy well built portable computer and I would highly recommend.

You can easily keep the operating software up to date on the Yoga 730-13 by scanning the device regularly with the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". Expensive computer driving me crazy

I have now taken it back to best buy twice out of frustration. Either it is crap or the agents do not know how to fix it. When I type, parts of the sentence suddenly flip to another location previously in the sentence or paragraph. Extremely frustrating as it can happen many times in an email or in a message, or document. First geek squad they turned off the touch screen, thinking either my dog or I was touching it. That didn't help. I took it back. While I was demonstrating the problem it did the same thing with Geek Squad observing. However, when I left it it with them to repair, it did not do so. However I noticed they were typing things like the typical sentence which uses every letter, or just writing one, two, three, four, five, etc. Computers are too smart to screw those up. So of course they said the computer was fine and told me to take it home. Their suggestion was to get a mouse and use that instead of the touchpad on my new computer! Sorry, if I have a new computer I expect it to work, and not have to do work arounds. Maybe this should be 1 star.

You may be inadvertently making contact with the touchpad while typing. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. Should the issue persist, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support for additional help at: 877-453-6686.

I travel a lot for work and pleasure and it is so light and has a thin profile. This is the first time I have had a touch screen and it works great to enlarge things that may be difficult to read. I would defiantly recommend this computer.

Frustrating

No gaming,no social media,just research online and some word processing etc. I have had the laptop less than two months and it's already malfunctioning the keyboard doesn't types the right characters and I've resorted to using the on screen keyboard which slows me down. I dont have time to take it in store due to work and school and I'm also dependent on it for my online classes so I cant take it and leave it somewhere to be repaired. This is the second lenovo laptop I've bought the first one I also had problems with but decided to give them another shot after reading good reviews... what a mistake.

Geek squad cant fix it ( nor will they replace it for a new one). They are sending back to lenovo and said it will take 3-5 weeks to fix!!!!! She is in college and needs a computer! This is very unacceptable and therefore I cannot recommend. There is obviously either a design or build issue with this model since so many are having this same flickering issue. STAY AWAY from this one!
