Horrible Wi-fi Problem (PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING)

I searched and searched to find the perfect, but affordable, upgrade for college. Luckily this computer had a great deal from Best Buy. I of course read the problems about the wifi, but trusted the high ratings and believed my computer would be one of the good ones. WRONG. I have never, ever had such an annoying machine before. The Realtek wifi chip they have in these computers are garbage, and it’s been a known thing. I tried every diagnostic tip I could, but nothing worked. It was so annoying to be in class taking notes or looking up research articles just for my computer to say “No internet” every 30 minutes! I had to flip flop between wifi networks on campus and at my apartment! The specs on the computer is good, but the wifi makes it unbearable. If I could have upgraded the chip I would’ve, but then the warranty would be voided. Saved myself the headache and returned it to best buy before it was too late. First Lenovo product, and probably the last. I switched to a reliable Windows surface instead.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you had issues with WiFi connectivity with your Lenovo Yoga 730-13. This issue can be fixed by first updating the computer to the latest version of Windows 10, then updating all of the BIOS files and drivers. This is easily accomplished by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.
