    Honestly, when I first got it, it was wonderful. Then a day or so later I got bombarded with the windows defender scam. I used my total tech to scan my computer for viruses and get rid of any spyware. Weeks later it started being slow after logging in. The buttons I clicked were not working immediately. I started waiting after log in. Then, my touchscreen stopped working. I had to look online and that was a common problem! I am going to give it a while longer then return.

This Yoga 7i 14 ships with a 30-day trial of McAfee Virus Protection Software installed. It will activate automatically with the initial activation of Windows 11 and protect your computer for the 30-day trial period. You do not need to use McAfee VPS. You can uninstall McAfee and use the free Windows Defender VPS that comes with Windows 11 or you can uninstall McAfee and then install your choice of any compatible 3rd party VPS. The key is to uninstall McAfee if you will not be using it, as there can only be one active VPS on the computer at a time.     Was great until it the noisy fan slows you down

    I'm really starting to hate this laptop. After just under 3 months, it has started to become a loud, slow machine. I use it for everyday web use, no photo or video editing. Basically just running Chrome. When the fan comes on (no, not with a high CPU) it is loud and makes the whole machine slow. I've tried a number of tricks out there and nothing has worked yet. The keys are nice, speakers work well, but I need something that is going to run smoother. I shouldn't have to be thinking about the computer every 2 hours.

Since the issue with the internal fan ramping up RPMs at moderate to low workloads, just happened recently, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If there is no incompatible software installed, you can use Lenovo Q-Control to manually control fan and system performance: ( Fn + Q ) option to change the fan by undervolting the processor.     Terrible. Was very excited with this purchase I made as my mother’s Christmas Gift specially for her to be able to do zoom meetings and enjoy the camera during this pandemic! Not even 1 month in and the camera went black and no one seems to know how to fix it! It’s too late to return. Would not recommended.

This model ships with a 720p (HD) webcam with manual Privacy Shutter built in. Be sure the Privacy Shutter is completely open before trying to use the webcam or the webcam will not operate. There is a small slider, directly above the webcam lens. Move the tab to the right to open the Privacy Shutter. There is a red dot over the webcam lens that will disappear when the Privacy Shutter is fully open. This will indicate that the webcam is really to use. You can close the Privacy Shutter when you are done with the webcam for your security, by sliding the tab to the left to close the Privacy Shutter. The Red Dot will appear over the webcam lens when the Privacy Shutter is closed. If the issue continues, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

    Overheating and Screens blackout.

    I purchased a laptop 2 days ago, but it is getting heated. Also, sometimes the screen blacks out. Moreover, all things are great so far yet. Hope it will remain good for long term.

      The Lenovo Intel Evo-Certified, Lenovo Yoga 7i 14 ships with All-Day-Battery-Life, thanks to its 4CELL_71WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, which within this configuration, has a battery life of up to 13 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery.     First I had to return to Best Buy because the computer was jammed after a week, just because of a Windows update. They gave me a new one and it worked fine for around 8 months. After that, one of the pieces that allow the screen to flip broke and it broke my entire screen. More recently, the other side of this same piece broke and now the screen and the keyboard are two things apart. Summary: expect to have issues.
