Freezes without warning. Do not buy!

This PC looks beautiful and--when it operates--is very quick. Unfortunately, it will freeze for no reason at all without any warning whatever. When that happens, nothing will operate-no key, no touchpad, nothing. There is no way to close it down using task manager, for example. It is frozen. Turns out that the problem I encountered is well known and many have complained about it. Suppose you had a document-- it is gone because the only thing you can do is to use the on/off switch to shut it down. I returned it after a few days of experiencing this problem. BestBuy was very good about it and took it back without questioning. But this product has a defective design or part and should not be sold. Period.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Intel Evo-Certified, Lenovo Yoga 9i 14, model number 82BG0090US. This model ships with the Windows Operating System and should not freeze. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Premium Care at: 888-278-9707.

It is also built with superior quality metal and is an absolute beast when it comes to the specs. I will they could do 1 TB SSD Nvme, but for now this is great.

WiFi connectivity issues

But it has a fatal flaw in that my WiFi connection would drop out intermittently and I would lose my work, draft emails, and my work calls would drop. When I did have WiFi, it was a very poor signal and slow even though my 300 dollar Lenovo right next to it was functioning perfectly fine. I had it hard wired directly into my modem and was still having these issues. Also the webcam never worked but that was secondary to this mess of never being able to rely on WiFi. For someone who lives on their computer, it was devastating. Thank you to Best Buy who let me return outside the 2 week return window- for that reason I purchased another laptop with them and will remain a loyal customer.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having WiFi connectivity issues with your Intel Evo-Certified, Lenovo Yoga 9i-14 model number 82BG000CUS. This model ships with the best available Intel 6G 2 x 2 802.11ac frequency WiFi, which is also backward compatible to all older a/b/g/n/ac frequency WiFi. If you are having connectivity issues first, check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. Regarding your webcam issues, this model ships with a 720p (HD) webcam with manual Privacy Shutter built in. Be sure the Privacy Shutter is completely open before trying to use the webcam or the webcam will not operate. There is a small slider, directly above the webcam lens. Move the tab to the right to open the Privacy Shutter. There is a red dot over the webcam lens that will disappear when the Privacy Shutter is fully open. This will indicate that the webcam is really to use. You can close the Privacy Shutter when you are done with the webcam for your security, by sliding the tab to the left to close the Privacy Shutter. The Red Dot will appear over the webcam lens when the Privacy Shutter is closed. If the issue continues, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

It’s really fast and the touch screen is great. I was able to sign a document rather than having to type my name. The only drawback is that it doesn’t have a number keypad.

Easily the worst laptop I've owned

The stylus doesn't work reliably + its battery dies in under 2 hours. In touchscreen mode, it simply lags and is unusable; it has crashed several times (requiring a reset) simply from browsing online. The laptop's battery dies pretty fast, and the charger (or the battery) doesn't always charge. I sent it to Lenovo to get all this checked out and repaired. They sent it back without any repairs saying that "everything looks normal," so I am assuming normal is mediocre... for the cost of this computer + the cost of the antivirus every year, you might as well get a reliably good quality Mac. I've been using my 10+ year old Macbook instead of this laptop because it is much faster.
