Excellent laptop with minor feature issues

Video playback freezes on Youtube (sounds stays on). Battery life is a bit below expectations. Otherwise, all features work exactly as expected.

Posted .The Intel Evo-Certified, Lenovo Yoga 9i-14 model number 82BG000CUS, ships with the latest, Intel 6G Wide-Range/High Speed 2x2 802.11AX frequency WiFi. If you are getting less than expected WiFi connectivity, first, be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

He, along with the it staff, like this computer so much that we changed his personal laptop out also. Very good machine. We haven’t had any issues with this since it was purchased.

My only gripe is coming from a Thinkpad for work, this keyboard is a little underwhelming but it is still good.

I've edited videos and worked with 3D Models on it and the RAM handles it pretty well. Also is very portable due to thinness and love the touchscreen.

Horrible WiFi connectivity and worse customer supp

I noticed right away when I first booted up this laptop that it had a very weak WiFi antenna. It barely connected to my home network that none of my other devices have a hard time with and I was very close to the router. I ran some speed tests and it had consistently lower speeds over WiFi than my other devices too. I went to various forums and quickly found that this isn't an uncommon issue with the Yoga 9i. As a last ditch effort, I called Lenovo "Premium Support" and this is what really cemented my decision to return the laptop. My first call with them was disconnected right after I explained the issue. I figured this was just a typical technical issue. I then decided to use their call back service instead of waiting on hold again. Guess what? No call back! So I called again and waited on hold this time. I got someone, gave them my name and number, and explained the issue. They said they'd use my number to get back in touch with me in case we got disconnected. Surprise surprise, the call dropped after I explained the issue again. And they never tried to get back in touch with me. I've since returned the laptop. It's bad enough that a $1k+ laptop fails at the most basic thing you'd expect from such a device but the support is some of the worst I've ever experienced.

If you are experiencing less than expecting signal strength from your home router, be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Item was open box but still brand new, only missing the charger even though it said complete. Went back to store and the found the Lenovo charger in their tech area, they verified part number and we were good to go.

No complaints with the laptop itself but Bestbuy sent it to me with finger prints all over the screen. It was a open box item but I thought it would at least be wiped down before being sold again. Especially with Covid...

Great laptop for students

I got this laptop specifically for working/attending classes while traveling and so far it has been perfect. The stylus has a fairly short battery life (~45 minutes) which is the only negative so far.
