Dont do it

Seemed super high quality and worth the money. I was super excited about it... However the 1st day the computer froze 2 times within an hour after it was set up. I had only downloaded chrome and some pictures (like 3). It was completely unresponsive: the touchscreen, keyboard, even control- alt- delete would not work. The only way to fix it was to force it off by holding the power button. I went back to bestbuy and exchanged it for another of the same computer hoping i just got a dud. Nope. not the case. the new computer worked fine the first night throughout the set up. But here i am the 2nd day and it has frozen twice already again. I looked it up and it seems a lot of people with the computer brand new are having this problem. I need this for school and i can't have it freezing the way it is... So I now have to return it AGAIN and get a completely different computer. Save yourself the hassle. Get something else.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues setting up your Intel Evo-Certified, Lenovo Yoga 9i 14, model number 82BG000CUS. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Good looking laptop keeps freezing up

Bought this at BestBuy. After initial setup, laptop worked great initially (and has an excellent sound system and premium tech support/care to boot) then suddenly froze up. No key press would generate a response. I followed the instructions from Lenovo Tech support (do not install Microsoft Office, try the System Reset among other things) posted on several other reviewers who had similar issues but no luck. It kept on freezing up randomly. After seeing other reviews from people struggling with this laptop, I suspect there is something wrong with this model. Lenovo needs to take a serious look at this product. Sadly, I had no option but to return this to BestBuy who have been wonderful through out this terrible experience, if it wasn't for their return policy I would have been stuck with this lemon. I will likely not purchase Lenovo products again and certainly do not recommend this model to anyone. Following up on my analogy from the opening line of this review - would you buy a car that suddenly stalls on the freeway no matter how good it looks or sounds in the garage?

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you had issue with your Intel Evo Certified, Lenovo Yoga 9i 14. You mention that you did not install a second copy of Microsoft office on your computer, but what about a 3rd. party virus protection software? This Yoga 9im 14 ships with a 30-day trial of McAfee Virus Protection Software installed. It will activate automatically with the initial activation of Windows 10 and protect your computer for the 30-day trial period. You do not need to use McAfee VPS. You can uninstall McAfee and use the free Windows Defender VPS that comes with Windows 10 or you can uninstall McAfee and then install your choice of any compatible 3rd party VPS. The key is to uninstall McAfee if you will not be using it, as there can only be one active VPS on the computer at a time. Doesnt support chrome!

If you are getting slower than expected performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. lenovo yoga 9i

I attempted to get it fixed three times already and had the motherboard completely replaced to no avail. Best buy was great in their attempts to fix my laptop in house but eventually I had to go to lenovo since it still persistently freezes. lenovo refuses to replace the laptop despite it being less than a year old. I would NOT recommend this product or company, especially if you are a student who cant afford time wise or financially to deal with this company. This is probably the worst expierence I have ever had with a tech company. This review doesn't reflect my expierence with best buy (which was amazing) but does reflect the product and Lenovo

Died within 3 months and parts are not available

From the start it had the same lockup, random rebooting, and failure to restart problems that many others have discussed here and on the Lenovo forum. Last week when using it, the screen went black, random blocks started dancing around the screen, and then it shut down and will not restart. Lenovo customer support was fine at scheduling an in person repair, but unfortunately I received a text that parts are not available (even though they haven't diagnosed the problem on site yet and don't know what exact parts will be needed) and they don't know when they will be available. They refuse to replace the laptop instead of repair it. You can draw you own conclusions, but I would suggest you look long and hard at other manufacturers since Lenovo seems to have so many quality control problems right now.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Intel Evo-Certified, Lenovo Yoga 9i 14 model number 82BG0090US. Resetting this computer back to original factory settings may clear the issues you are having. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the bottom right side of the device, right near the top right corner of the cooling vent on the bottom of the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Premium Care for additional help at: 888-278-9707.
