He set it up and was "blown away" by its performance. He used it for about a month without incident, but suddenly what seemed like disaster struck: it would not turn on. No matter what the only reaction would be an occasional blinking of the power light for a few seconds. Unplugged it. Help the power button down for 30 seconds. Nada. Some research and I saw where this machine has a reset button. Straightened out a paper clip and held the reset button down for same amount of time. It powered on and has not repeated the incident. Hopefully it was an anomaly. Got an extended warranty so if not will be protected. In my time with the machine I was impressed. Super thin. Boots amazingly quickly. Nice feel to the keyboard. I have a Surface Book 2 and an HP Spectre 360 and frankly I would prefer the Lenovo to the Surface and consider it as comparable to the Spectre, which for me is quite a compliment as I love the Spectre. Gave it 5 starts on the assumption that it was a one time out of box glitch. Other than that, not much not to like, especially at this price.

Concerning the failure to boot issue you describe, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

I like the 14" ease cause it's light and easy to carry around. As you can see this laptop is spec'd out processing/memory/harddrive wise, but I do still see it lag a bit. Windows 11 is def a learning curve, looks nice but the ease of use, is not there when windows 10 came out. I'm thinking to maybe go Samsung now but it's decent for its price/form factor. Just wished the battery would last a bit longer, I hate continually charging this, also the charger is on the left side and not the right side, a bit annoying if the closest power outlet is on the right side. All in all, good laptop for anyone, i just have some minor quirks

This model configuration ships with a Integrated 60Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which, within this configuration, will have a battery life of up to 17 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. This was an "Open Box-Excellent Condition" purchase. Fired it up and updated all drivers. It appeaered to maybe have been opened previously, and that was all. After using a Dell Inspiron 13 for the last 4 1/2 years, and using 15.6" laptops prior to that. I knew that I wanted another nice 13-14" screen that was lightweight. This Lenovo Yoga 9i does not disappoint. I have only had it for about a week. Besides wanting the Intel Gen 11 "evo" or Ryzen processor. A nice screen with a small bezel were a couple of key factors. Note: This is a true 14" screen, not 13" or 13.3 like most others. This has nice colors, and brightness. Even though it's not 4k. It has an excellent picture quality. This is a huge battery saving difference to have the FHD vs. 4k. One of the HUGE selling features for me, is the soundbar. As someone who has a hearing disability, this is GREAT! It is unbelievably helpful have the speakers/soundar firing directly at my ears. I used to have to turn up the volume on my Dell Inspiron almost fully to hear the tinny little "Side/Down firing" speakers. Everybody could hear it better than I could while I was sitting at it. Hopefully, this will be as reliable as my Dell was for the last few years. If so, I will become a Lenovo convert for life! I'll update this review, if my impressions change.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop to replace a 14" touchscreen laptop that was 6-7 years old and at the end of its life. The upgrade in terms of portability and performance is night and day. This laptop boots up from a complete shutdown in 5 seconds or less and logs me in instantly with the fingerprint reader. If the laptop is in sleep mode, the laptop wakes up before I'm even done opening the lid. When doing every day activities like browsing the web in firefox with several tabs open, the fans never even turn on and the laptop is completely quiet. The speakers sound great and can get pretty loud and are pretty cleverly integrated into the screen's hinge. Battery life of course depends on a lot of factors but I think that unless you're running intensive games the battery should last 8+ hours. The biggest problem with 2-in-1 laptops like this is that Windows 10 is not great in tablet mode because of the lack of Windows Store apps, and a 14" tablet in general is pretty awkward to use. I won't hold that against this laptop as I consider that a bonus to what is generally a great laptop.

I received my laptop today and I love it more than I thought I would. The color is beautiful and in general it seems so well built. I love that I was able to purchase this laptop at a reasonable price and ticking off almost all of my requirements.
