Purchased this laptop as it was one of the few available at the time. The biggest issues is that there is not enough definition to the keys so it's easy to be typing along with fingers on the wrong keys. Adjusting the settings is not as easy or intuitive as it should be.

Hello, we are sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue with your Lenovo Yoga C740 model # 81TD0003US . Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the. You can use Lenovo Q-Control to manually control fan performance: (Fn + Q ) option to change the fan. If the issue continues, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

I bought this as a satisfactory open box. Unfortunately, it has major issues and is completely unusable. 1. It does not give me the option to connect to wi-fi for set up, so I am forced to select that I don't have internet when setting up (even though I DO have internet) because it is the ONLY option available. Once windows is set up (without internet) and open, there is no possible way to connect to wi-fi. It acts as if it thinks it's in airplane mode, but there is no way to disable it because it really isn't selected in the settings. 2) There is NO sound. The volume is completely disabled and there is no possible way to change that. 3) The brightness controls do NOT work AT ALL. 4) Setting up night mode does NOTHING. These are the only features I've tried before concluding that this thing is basically is a lemon that I need to return asap. Who knows what else is all wrong with it.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C740-15. It is possible that resetting the computer back to original factory settings may allow you to then enter Settings within Windows 10 properly. Here is a link to instructions for resetting your Windows 10 computer back to original settings:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12415. If you can not reset the computer this way, the Lenovo Yoga C740-15 is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the bottom right side of the device, right near the top right side of the cooling vent on the back device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

I got sold this yoga laptop. Or is it a tablet. Or neither. Save your money and just use your phone, because this machine can’t perform either task well. The worst part is Best Buy’s return policy. 14 days. Even with the shortened hours and all the crazy ness in this world they can’t even make an exception to please a customer. It gets worse. I signed up for the Best Buy visa and purchased the Lenovo with the no interest payment plan. Got the card and tried to navigate to the web site to view my balance payment due date. Set alerts since I had to bind the card to my Best Buy login. I spent the first half hour navigating thru all the adds and finally got to the page with my card. And yes no balance. Payment schedule. So I inquired about a n app for this card and they don’t offer one. So now I got a Sub par device and a really insecure credit card. So disappointed

Worst purchase I ever made and Best Buy doesn't honor their lemon policies. Within 2 months of purchase it started freezing. It was sent out for repair. Came back and locked up during the first boot. I took it back to Best Buy, and they re-installed windows. Got it back and it froze the next day. They sent it out again. Repeat story a couple more times. It is now being repaired the 4th time. The store manager and Geek Squad tech both agree that it is a lemon, yet they sent it out for repair again. I have already had to purchase a new computer. We have been over 2 months without this one. This will be the last big purchase I make at Best Buy.

The Lenovo uses a Wacom touch screen that evidently Microsoft has no intention of supporting. Windows 10 automatically upgrades and disables the touch screen. Even when you download the latest driver - windows disables the Wacom driver so touchscreen stops working. Lenovo customer support just tells you to return to Best Buy and get another laptop... there apparently is no fix until microsoft will support...

    Never Again Buying a Lenovo

Had to return to Lenovo after sending it to Lenovo after 1 month of use to repair and having it returned twice with the same issues. Currently have a replacement computer that took months to receive and after having it for 5 months it shuts off unexpectedly and sometimes won’t turn on. I’m sure when I get it back it will have the same issues and they started my warranty from the date I purchased the original computer so I’ll be stuck with an unreliable computer. I ended up buying a MacBook Pro since I needed a computer for school and it’s been reliable and never had any issues. Lenovo truly has unreliable products and even worse customer service. I’ve never been so disappointed with a purchase.

Worst screen rotating clips. It starts falling down when rotated to like >110 degrees. And, after 2 days of usage, I came to notice the display now has an irritating yellow tint set to automatic! I tried in every possible way by color calibration and all. Everything seems to be a short and 2min temporary fix. It again starts reflecting that yellow tint. When I requested help from Best Buy, they asked me to return the product as they were experiencing a huge number of same display issues with recent Lenovo Yoga Series. I also searched Lenovo yoga online forums to get some details. Fn+Esc or none of their other tips worked out! Don't purchase unless you want to waste your time going back and forth exchanging or returning the product!

Terrible purchase unfortunately. I purchased one for each of my children for virtual learning. The 1st one received for my one child, the fingerprint sign in and sound did not work out of the box. I exchanged it for another one. The replacement now loses WIFI access daily. The 2nd one I purchased lost microphone sound within 1-2 weeks of use. It worked then briefly, and now it is not working again. Why is this an issue? Well - you can’t participate in Zoom learning meetings with no working microphone. The WiFi on this one also goes in and out and the only game on the device loads 50% of the time without me having to restart the laptop. These are issues we do not have on other devices we own.

Computer stopped working twice. It died twice and when plugged in did not register that there was a connected power source. The first time it was fixed through one year manufacturer warranty. I was not offered any replacement options and was computerless for weeks. The second time I called to ask if I can trade this in as it was the second time this issue occurred and I wanted a different computer. I was told I can not trade it in and that I would have to pay out of pocket to have the motherboard fixed. Seems ridiculous as this seems to be a recurrent issue. Will be contacting Lenovo.
