worked great for about 1 year. right after warranty expired started getting UE error even for tub clean cycle. Have checked and double checked level, footings etc... contacted LG and was disconnected 2 times after waiting 15 min to speak with a tech rep. this review is for both LG and its sub standard product. Googled this and it seems to be a common issue.

UA is all I see on this washing machine. The “smart drum” likes to balance the load before spinning but if there is ONE item off kilter the machine shuts off and reads UA on the screen until you reach down and dig around and try to balance the items yourself. Most of the time it doesn’t work doing it this way so you have to remove soaking wet clothing, put it in a basket and spin half your load of laundry, then put the other half in once it’s done. It’s HORRIBLE!!! I can’t wait to get myself a front loader to never have this problem again.

My family has had this washer since April and wash approximately 4 loads per week. It worked great for awhile and now it is error message after error message. It could just be this machine and not the norm but who knows. I know it has a warranty but I would rather have a reliable machine.

This is a solidly built washer which replaces my 25-year-old Maytag. The clothes come out cleaner and dryer. It almost makes you want to run the washing machine.

Washer is ok. Service is HORRIBLE! After just under 12 months my washer stopped draining. LG customer service scheduled a repair and now after 2 weeks i have still not had anyone step foot in my house. They claim they're waiting on parts but how do they wait on parts when they haven't even stepped 1 foot inside my home? They literally told me, there's nothing else they can do. DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!!! Terrible customer service, mediocre products!

This washer broke within 6 months of use. First the LG repairman said it was a defective motor. After replacing the part the washer leaked all over the floor. Then the repairman found a sock in the drum housing. He said the washer was unrepairable and not under warranty because the user loaded the washer improperly. LG does not stand by its warranty. I had to buy another new washer (obviously not an LG product) to replace it. Customer service did not even return my calls. LG - never again! Buyers beware.

Great until it failed, LG couldn't fix.

This washer seemed great, plenty of features. My wife loved it. Then one day it started giving a "motor overheat" warning even after unplugging it overnight. I called LG, and they told me to contact a local repair shop. The local shop wouldn't repair it under warranty unless I had LG set it up. LG attempted to, but for whatever reason they couldn't create a repair work order for my area. After a week, they finally have decided to refund the price I paid, because they can't find anyone to repair it, even though there are several LG repair shops within 25 miles of me. LG would never call me back about the changes in status -- I had to keep contacting them. While we loved the potential of this machine, we can't afford to invest in another LG.

I am very disappointed in this washer. I read all the reviews and ratings then picked what I thought was the best washer.
It just does not stay in balance. i adjust the load, adjust it again, and again. This constantly adds time to the wash.
Very frustrated and unhappy with this washer!

Large enough that my laundry loads have been cut in half. Quiet and balances itself well. Love the features, and my grandson loves to watch through the window.

This is a very nice washer, cleans well, and has lots of room. I can now clean stuff that I could never do before, and I use less water doing it.

Delivery guys installed hot water to cold water. This is very basic mistake. I ruined my clothes because of this and I am very upset. I washed colored clothes, but the washer was using HOT water under PureColor setting. The installation guys did not even insert the drain hose deep enough as the manual suggests. Overall, very dissatisfied. Home Depot (where I got my dryer) noticed the drain hose was not inserted deep enough.

Worst Washer Ever

This is a piece of garbage. Had for a year and every wash cycle goes uneven. Washer will completely fill up with water 2-3 times trying to balance the load, even for small loads. This is not "high efficiency" when it wastes so much water trying to balance. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GARBAGE. WILL NEVER PURCHASE A LG PRODUCT AGAIN. HAD TO GIVE ONE STAR BECAUSE IT IS REQUIRED. SHOULD BE ZERO STARS.

Terrible

We purchased this washer almost 6 months ago. I personally feel it is terrible. Missed the window of opportunity to exchange it at best buy thinking all along my dislike for the machine was operator error and we just needed to get used to a high efficiency. They suggested I contact LG since they weren't going to allow an exchange since out had been about 2 months since purchased. Contacted LG they sent someone to look at the machine. It was delivered with a bad clutch and both computer systems were bad as well. They did replace all the parts not the machine. While I can see a very slight improvement, the machine simply still does not clean our clothes. I contacted LG again and was told there would be a follow up. I still haven't heard anything and am about to give up. It is very unfortunate to have invested this money into a terrible machine that we are going to be stuck with for years. I pretreat clothes prior to washing only to have to wash again. The only good thing about this washer is that it is quiet. Overall disappointed in both LG and best buy.

Quiet operation as long as you place your clothes evenly on each side in order to balance the wash cycle.

Dirtiest laundry ever

I really wanted to love this washer, the design seemed amazing, no smelly frontloader needing wiped out or door left open to worry about, let me tell you why I sent it back. I read the instructions for the washer and used proper settings and tide he soap. It was replacing a frontloader whirlpool that had 10 hard years of use with teenagers doing their own laundry.
1. The lack of water on most loads the clothes feel coated in dirt.
2. The washer tub completely filling up four times in one wash for unbalanced code is not efficient, yes I stood at washer and watched this happen, and the clothes still were not clean. I finally just shut the washer off and pulled the wet clothes out and hand wrung them out and then had to hang outside until they were dry enough for the dryer.
3. Used several settings , I figured I was picking the wrong settings at first, after the first 2 loads came out with stuff all over the clothes, gritty, laundry lint stuff. Had to shake every piece of clothes before putting in dryer, dryer lint trap, I kept same dryer, was full of grit and fluff. Never had my dryer do this ever.
4. It is not quiet ! It makes this sound that drives me to turn up music way louder and the pitch is still there, if your ears are young or you have good hearing avoid this machine!
5. I am 5'3" I had to keep high platform shoes at the washer to reach the socks at the bottom. Also if you have large chest and a woman prepare to have them squished like your having a mammogram trying to reach those socks!
I sent it back after running 20 loads of laundry through it.

I have had this machine for less than 30 days and am trying to figure out how to return it already. Bought this because it was the highest rated top loader from consumer reports, even though I read some reviews about becoming unbalanced. I do about 4-5 loads of laundry every week. My first 4 ran just fine and I haven't been able to complete a load since. Becomes unbalanced EVERY time. Big loads, small loads, it doesn't matter. And when it gets unbalanced, it is not like I can just open the lid, move stuff around and it will be fine. I have to babysit the rest of the cycle because I have to open the lid and move things around again every 5 minutes or so until the cycle is done. Terrible washer! Consumer Reports got it completely wrong.
