Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After 18 months, the Washer Plate/Pulsator Assembly stripped and flew off in the tub. Had to purchase a new assembly as I found out this is a common issue with LG units. Screw loosens, disks plastic gear gets stripped and disk flies off. It is a $70 part that constantly fails. It wind up costing $300 to have a tech come in to repair. LG Customer Service is useless. They do not stand behind their products. After 1 yr it is your problem. LG is a disposable product.

Good washing machine other than the noise

A few weeks later the Samsung was recalled so I picked out the LG top load washing machine/dryer. The LG is smaller and better fits our laundry area. The only complaint is the LG is loud. It sounds as if its about to take off!! A lot louder than the Samsung.

I’m able to tighten the bolt that keeps it fastened to the bottom, however it continues to come loose for some reason. I have contacted LG and they will not call me back.

Maybe I expect too much; but I expect more than 5 years from a major appliance. This washer costs $500. According to LG, they will send a tech out to fix your machine when it breaks for $300. What a bargin!! I was disappointed in what I thought was a well made machine. However, when the water valve breaks and your house is in jeopardy of flooding, its time to move on.
