This washer is huge and works very well. Take care of it and it will last and make you happy for a long time. Settings take a bit of getting used to but then are great.

It came with a horrible smell, I though it was due to it been closed so I kept it open a couple of days, but after I installed it, I ran a cleaning cycle to wash the machine, and I also cleaned it manually many times but the smell persisted. I kept using it hopping it would get better but it didn't. Now, after 6-7 months of using it, the smell has decrease a little. I would not recommend this washer, maybe I just got a bad one. Also, it does not sense the correct load on the "normal" setting, it lasts more than 50 minutes to wash a full or small load.

Too loud and poorly designed filter door This washer is way louder than it should be. The LG washer I replaced with this one was much better, which is why I went with LG again. The noise during water delivery and throughout the wash cycle is very distracting—even from two rooms away. The filter access door is also a real hassle. When you open it to clean the filter, water spills out everywhere—onto the floor and even into the pedestal drawer. For the price, I expected a smoother, quieter machine and better design. It cleans fine, but the noise and mess take away from the overall experience. Unfortunately, the only way to find out about these types of issues is through reviews, since there is no way to test before buying. That is why I am leaving this review.

We love the quality, no shaking, super quiet. The 4.5 Cu. Ft. model has plenty of drum space. Fair price. Am hoping that 10 years from now parts will still be available... not like the manufacturer of our last front load washer, Samsung.

I simply replaced my ancient washer of the same make and model with the new version. I love my LG front loader! It's quiet, efficient, and cleans my clothes really well while still treating them gently.

Our 14-year-old LG washer gave up the ghost and we purchased a new LG W/D set. The washer has so many features... Most of them don't matter to me, but my wife loves them! It's 4.5 Cu Ft capacity is a huge increase over our previous unit and now washes comforters, etc. with ease. Our only concern is that it seems to 'bang' more than or previous LG washer did when a load is 'out of balance'. It quickly adjusts and the 'banging' stops, but since it happens so often, the noise is annoying. Our loads of laundry are the same type/size of loads we did previously, so we know we're not overloading it. NOTE: the comforter didn't bang when we washed it - go figure... overall we're very happy with it and hope we can figure out the momentary banging.

This machine works really well. Spin cycle is very smooth and spis extremely fast. It’s also very quiet. The only takeaway is having to dry the seal, but it’s not a deal breaker at all.

I bought this machine (which was highly rated by a consumer magazine) from Best Buy because I have purchased all of my major appliances from Best Buy. The best part is: Best Buy still does price matching and matched the sale price of a nearby big box store. Customer service was excellent. The machine was delivered within a week of service. The other guys? Well maybe we can squeeze you in three weeks later. The LG washer lives up to its reviews. Performs as I expected. I can see why it was highly rated.

We've owned this machine for a month and a half and have pleased with its performance. It can do a standard basket of mixed clothes in stride. Does a reasonable job of washing clothes in its cold wash cycle. It tells you how long it will take and makes a musical sound when it is complete -- much less jarring than the loud buzzer our old machine made. This front loader has to be unloaded carefully or clothes will spill onto the floor. On top of its the pedestal the height for loading and unloading is much less of a strain than the top loader we used to have. After the washing is done, keeping the door open while the dryer is at work ensures that the interior doesn't stay too damp. Otherwise there is visible water droplets on the cover.

This is a really great washer. It holds a lot more than the previous front loader I had. Once we got to understand how to use it, we've found it to be really good. Almost silent too, can hardly hear it's working. Clothes come out clean and almost dry on the high spin. Love it.

Very happy so far. We installed this in a beach rental condo. We like the simple easy to understand and use controls. "The Knob". We think our guest will really enjoy this large unit verses the mini apartment size it replaced.

I purchased this because my previous one, which lasted me about 13 years, finally needed repair. Since my previous one was an LG and I loved it, I went with a similar model and have not been disappointed. It's easy to use and does a wonderful job.

Reliable workhorse (been a few months so far). The wash cycles are fairly quick. They use very little water. This machine is much quieter and stable than our old Bosch washing machine even during the fast spin cycles at the end. There's a few design choices that could be improved. - There is no memory for the wash settings. So each time you switch it on, you need to change the settings to match the last time again. - The delay timer is not very intuitive to set up. When the delay button is pressed, it is not clear if the Start button needs to be pressed afterwards or if it will start by itself.

Purchased October 2025. I too went with this set because of the consumer report rating. It is PAINFULLY obvious that Consumer Reports is paid by LG and also obvious that no one at Consumer Reports has used this machine. I am a 59 year old woman who raised 6 children. I know a thing or two about a washing machine. This one is TERRIBLE. Where do I start. Many have reported the smell, that is true, The issue I believe, is that the "boot" the rubber seal around the door is so very thick that it never lets the water fully drain and so rigid with the design you cannot use a simple paper towel or cloth to dry the area. This design also complicates removing pet hair and the that causes the water to stand as well. Second complaint is that this machine uses VERY little water, when following laundry detergent instructions there is not enough water to remove all the soap, you have to use less soap, less soap, less clean. The normal wash cycle is 72 minutes long. Here in my state electric rates just increased by $13 per month and the summer months has a 50 % increase during peak hours. I have ZERO idea how I am going to afford to use this washer this summer. IF you try the quick wash cycle even on heavy (25 minutes) the clothes definitely do not come clean. The wash cycle reverts back to a zero setting after every single wash. So if you primarily like quick wash, cold water, high spin, you have to reset it each time. Our old GE could be set and left no surprises of higher energy cost because you didn't notice the hot setting, or shrink clothes with the hot setting. I have noticed many times, it does not spin completely, there is no second spin, you have to do a rinse and spin or quick 15 min wash to get it to spin, adding more water, and more time and hope it spins correctly, the load is NOT unbalanced, we have triple checked its leveling. It is the same with the dryer. Normal dry time is 67 minutes. ARE YOU KIDDING?? i can line dry in a quarter of that time. I paid almost a thousand dollars for the convenience of opening a door and tossing in. Of course because the clothes don't always come clean the first time around, if you dry them the smell in the dryer lingers. Odd, but important, neither of the washer and dryer do well with pet hair, or sawdust, or any small particle on your clothing, its right back on it when it comes from the dryer. Supposedly, you can install an APP on your phone for custom wash and dryer settings, I am not sure though, because it did NOT come with a manual, that is online and all IDK 400 pages have to be printed off by you, that includes all the languages as well even if it is not your language. NO I DO NOT WANT TO PRINT A MANUAL. I WANT TO FLIP THROUGH IT IN MY HAND. AND NO I DO NOT WANT AN APP TO SET MY WASH CYCLE. Why would I want to start my washer when I am not home to move it to the dryer so it can sit wet in the washer and start to smell bad. I have had buyer REGRET only once or twice in my life. THIS takes the cake friends. PLEASE buy GE or WHIRLPOOL!! Do NOT PURCHASE this set. If I could return it even if for a plain old standard top load washer and dryer I would.

Good for the price. The first one leaked but BB replaced it with another and works well. Clothes do spin great so takes very little time to dry even heavy clothing. Rather quiet which is a must.

This washer cleans my clothes thoroughly and uses water very efficiently. Some of the cycles are long, so allow at least 1 hour, depending on the size of the load. I also purchased a pedestal so that I wouldn't have to bend as much when retrieving my clothes from the washer. Because the washer is up on a pedestal, it shakes and vibrates a bit during the spin cycle. This is not due to faulty construction of the washer; it's simply due to the fact that it's sitting on top of the pedestal. Overall, this is a good quality washer and I would recommend it. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles which is fine with me. I was looking for a basic, good quality washer and that's exactly what this is!

Had been suffering through a top load washer. This front loader is easy to use, does a great job getting clothes really clean and seems to be very gentle on clothes. Everything my top loader did not do! Live the ease of selecting temp, wash cycle etc.

This is an amazing machine that is also a good value. Installation is easy (key is leveling the machine correctly). The direct drive motor is worth every penny as the clothes come out super clean and almost dry. Our dryer has much less to do and that saves money. The washer has intelligent technology that assesses the load and programs itself accordingly. It is so much better than our Mayting belt driven front loader. The biggest reason I bought this machine beyond the performance is that it is user repair capable. Parts, videos and instructions are available for the handy person to attempt repair if needed. It also has a self diagnositic tool onboard.

This LG machine is very similar to the one I had before. Very simple to use, very quiet and it has a great design.

Does not have all the options of a machine we got 5 years ago for less money but it is quiet and cleans clothes well. We had a problem early on but an LG technician came quickly and fixed it at no charge.
